Greetings! Could any of you help me identify these miniatures? I just bought them on an online auction and thought they were GW/citadel but i'm not 100% sure. Could they be from some other manufacturer? Thanks for any information!

Those do look like some very old GW boyz, but I'm no expert on anything older than 10 years or so.

Those were Big 'Uns made around the same time as the previous metal boar boyz - which was 5th edition if I recall correctly. I liked these models quite a bit and still have a unit or so of them. The only problem I had with them was that they came out with the multi-part plastic orc kit and those models are physically larger than these guys. So you ended up with big orcs and little big 'uns - which is rather odd.

Didn't they release them for 'Lair of the Orc Warlord' (Warhammer Quest). I seem to remember the aforementioned orc warlord had about 3 bodyguards of this type.

Wonderful, thanks a lot for the information! I was almost certain they were old GW models by the looks of them, but i couldn't find them myself at solegends.com so i figured they might be BlackTreeDesign or some other company like that... GW-models from the 90's are my absolute favourite models so i'm very glad they're in that catalogue
Thanks again! |

Yup!! The're ALL G.W big 'uns from the '90's.. so if you're planning on using them in a store they're perfectly legal..
They were in the first wave of Brian Nelson sculpted Orcs back in 5/6th ed. Lovely they are too!!! Great purchase!!! |

I'm very happy to hear this! I must look around solegends to see which other models Brian Nelson has sculpted because these are really nice... |

Well Bakalla, he's sculpted quite a lot of the Orc and Goblin range, one of his best to me is: Orc Shaman
I don't know why, but this mini always reminds me of Clint Eastwood, also one of his best in my opinion!! |

Good call Gruntfuttock! That shaman is by far my favorite Orc mini thus far. I think I have like six of them stashed in the minis collection! |
