Hi all,

Well, I am close to completing my OOP dwarf army (although I am afraid to post a stunty blog here...), and have devoted some attention to another batch of Citadel minis I fell in love with back in the day, namely Kev Adams' greenskins. I have loads of these in my boxes, both orcs and gobbos along with their warmachines and the odd giant and troll. This army will be painted using air- and drybrushing with an extensive use of inks, since this is strictly a side project and time is scarce. I have gone for a subtler shade of green rather than going straight for the Goblin Green highlights, dunno if it works as expected. I have started by quickly painting up some boar and wolf riders along with some of the bigger orcs, and given them a quick coat of (surprisingly glossy) varnish. Lovely sculpts at any rate:

Some close-ups:

And a slightly more recent- issue troll, but an oldie nonetheless:

Next I will try and paint up some more goblins to use as cannonfodder. Meanwhile perhaps I could trade an eighties Man Mangler and Goblin battle chariot from someone?

Cheers,
Martin

Hi and welcome to DWP! I too am a fan of the old-school (see my blog). Looking at your boar boyz from left to right I has number 2,3 and 4. The one 2nd left I officially named 'Croc' since he had a face the same shape as a crocodile! He was a git to rank up as well. I like your selection of orc-boyz there as well. Most of mine were from the Marauder range, so slighly smaller.

I like the darker skin tone, that looks like the old woodland green though I may be mistaken.

Welcome to Da Warpath! smile.gif

Classy figs you've got there, and the great paintjobs also help them look better. Very nice!

Thanks! I appreciate constructive criticism any way I can get it, since I haven't painted a greenskin since my first WFB army back in 1989... Am working on a Marauder giant at the moment, and will post some pics in hopefully not too long.

Cheers,
Martin

Nice painting and those models certainly have lots of character. I like th elook of the new Orcs but soemthing has been lost over the time... I dont have any constructive criticism as it all looks good to me; nice and clean painting. I especially like the shields.
