Hi All,

Back on October the 7th 2007 I started the "Da Warpath Painty Blog Boyz", it was only a joke to begin with between me and Mostyn in his blog, he said "Where's my badge", and the rest is history...

From this we had quite a few people interested to join (They all wanted a shiny new badge) and it almost felt like we had a little club within Da Paff. However I've never really formalised either the process of how to join or post a members list, so I thought why not do something about it..

This was actually harder than I thought as not everyone that asked to become a member has the badge within their signature, so I spent a few hours yesterday trawling through the blogs looking for the words "Can I have a badge". This was actually more fun than it sounded as it reminded me how many totally cool blogs are out there, and a lot of them are not members, so hopefully these people will want to join too!! There were also a few mates like Zogdar and WGG that became members through MSN, cheers for your real-time support guys.

To become a member simply post your request in this thread. If you find that I have not noticed your post (e.g. you have not been added to the list after a week of hanging onto the edge of your seat, then PM me to gee me up).

The only requirement for membership is that you have a blog that contains some pictures of your hobby activity, you do not need to have had this blog for any length of time, you could be a complete newbie, as long as you have a blog and it contains pictures you are good to go.

However, if you do not update your blog for three months you are in danger of losing your membership. I don’t want to drop people from the list because of inactivity, but “rulz iz rulz” . I could make exceptions to this, illness etc, PM me if you think your blog may not be updated for some time. Other reasons for lack of updates could be that you are involved in competitions (like the recent painting one), again PM me if you are not likely to update your blog for three months, but still want to remain a member.

Also PM me if you feel someone should not be included for whatever reason, I can’t think of any reasons, but you never know.

If you think any of the rules need to change or you would like to offer further suggestions involving the blog boyz then drop me a PM.

I have created a new badge to commemorate the formalisation of the club. I now have three versions, the original, the Dawi chapter version and the cream version for Mostyn. If you would like your own special version of the badge then PM me. For example if you are not blogging an O&G army, you might want an “??? Army Chapter” version or maybe you want a smaller one to go in your existing signature, another example if you were a lady blogger you might want a “Da Warpath Painty Blog Girlz”, if so let me know. If I have the time I wont mind adding the blog boyz badge to existing images (if you dont have the picture merging skills yourself) again PM me if you would like me to look into this.



I have had a number of people contact me asking about how to include the badge in their signature. (Including my mate Ed, below). All you need to do is click on your name, which takes you to your profile page and click on "Edit my Signature", as below:-



Inside the signature editor box, its just like adding a picture to your blog. Just click on the IMG button and paste this URL in:-

Aternatively you can save the image to your PC, then upload the badge to your own Photobucket site (along with the pictures of your models) and add that image instead. This will cut out the need to rely on my photobucket and it will probably feel more like "your badge" if you do this....
