I cut mine out of thick metal plates and use magnets under the model bases. Then I can have several 2 rank trays, suiting both orcs and cavalry, and they can be removed as I take casualties. I really don't like big movement trays, Cauz they tend to look stupid once you start loosing models IMO.

really? i understand the magnets, but those are pretty cheap. the metal could be from anything. Old VCR/DVD machines, metal shelf's etc.

For metal movement trays I went to the hardware store and bought metal shingles. They come in quite large sizes and cost barely $1 each. They are easily cut with tin-snips.

i googled for shingles to see what they were, but i only get pics of people with horrible skin rashes. Vomit.gif

anyway i have used the GW modular one and i glued so 0.3 mm thick metal sheet into it.

Shingles are another name for roofing tiles. Try googling for "metal roofing shingles".

The ones I have are basically just rectangular sheets of thin metal that are easy to cut with tin-snips and stupidly cheap. For $20 I bought enough of them to make movement trays for at least 5+ armies.

I use the G.W ones, but for a larger unit, as in my nurgle Daemon army one unit of my Plaguebearers is 90 strong, so I tend to use thick heavy duty art card cut to size, that way it can store flat, no edges adn is really cheap to buy when you need it replaced.

I use the GW one( old ones and modular ones), but I think Galeforce9( or something like that) has their own range of movement trays and I suspect that some other companies also have movement trays in their range.

Cheers,
G

I've got quite a few, but i don't play warhammer any more (pure warmaster now) I was going to put them on ebay

I made mine out of wood, very sturdy.

Check shogun miniatures. They make custom metal movement trays. really reasonably priced. I have them for almost every unit for all of my 6 armies.
