Title: Squig Herders Exploding In A Building
Description: Who can get hit?

Hello everybody

I am about to play a Tower Scenario and since I am fielding a Squig Herd, two hypothetical questions have popped up:

1: 7 Squigs and 3 Herders are DEFENDING a building. In the fight, my opponent kills the 3 Herders. The Squigs go wild and explode. Who can get hit by the explosion? MY GUESS: The attacking unit plus all units within 2D6 of the building. This would be because the building constitutes the ’edge’ of the defending unit.
Is this correct?

2: 7 Squigs and 3 Herders are ATTACKING a building. In the fight, my opponent kills the 3 Herders. The Squigs go wild and explode. Who can get hit by the explosion?
This is harder. Is my attacking unit inside the building and does the building count as the ’edge’ of my unit? Or are they outside the building, even though they are only 10 strong?

Help.

1. Yes.

2. No. You are not techinally inside the building, measure from the actual position of the unit on the table.

Correct on both counts. Whilst you are inside the building that is the size of your unit footprint, so thats where you'd measure from. You dont remove the unit until after all the squigs have gone wild, then you remove the unit & the attacking unit takes control of the watchtower. If you're outside then again the unit isnt removed (the goblin casualties are) until after the squigs have exploded, so you measure from the bases of the remaining squigs. I like the idea btw MrMox!

Thanks guys.

(As it happened, it didnt come up. My Squig Herd ate a unit of Spearmen, and then managed to position itself next to an Altar of Khaine, giving them Frenzy. My opponent then placed his Halbardiers close by, and got charged by the Squig Herd. The resulting fight was great, with Frenzied Squigs and Halbardiers hacking and chewing. In the end, the Squig Herd were sans Squigs, but still had 5 Night Goblin Herders left.
They had dealt 14 wounds to the Halbardiers, however, and these broke, and were run over by the 5 Herders.
Great stuff

The building? I managed to get a big block of Savage Orc Big Ones in there, and once in, these guys stayed for the rest of the fight, winning me the game)

Nice that your savage orcs didn't want to charge out of the tower..
