First of all I want to say I'm not sure is this the correct forum part for this thread, so if I have mistaken, please forgive me and move the thread to the correct place. Thanks. :)

I've had some problems with my avatar settings for a while and finally I decided to create a thread about it. I've been unable to download an avatar from my computer. Always when I try to download the avatar from my computer, I got this message: "Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: You are not allowed to upload that type of file as an avatar or personal photo."

I can't see what's the problem here... The picture is 64 pixels by 64 pixels in size and it's not larger than 25 KB. File type of the picture is .jpg. I have the avatar on my account on the other forums with the same avatar restrictions and there it's been working fine.

Then I downloaded the picture on photobucket and copied the URL code and tried the other way of uploading avatars... The code was done perfectly correctly and I got this message "Sorry, but the URL you entered for your avatar was incorrectly formatted or the link is not valid." Then I gave up.

Have you ever had the same problem and if you have, what did you do to fix it? Or am I just doing something wrong, or is this just a unique random forum error?

Wait....is the avatar on your local pc? Or is it online? If local, you can upload it to Da Warpath. Or are you saying you have it local and it fails when you try to upload it? I think too much use of download leads to confusion.

One thing you can do if you have it somewhere else, is right click the avatar on the other site and use that URL for this avatar. That works sometimes.

The avatar picture is on my local pc and online. I've tried uploading the picture from my pc but it doesn't work, and I have tried copying the URL code of the picture (from another website) but it just says the code is written incorrectly. :huh: Normally the avatar settings have worked perfectly for me here but for a couple of days it just haven't worked...

Send me a copy of your avatar's online url and I'll see if I can upload it via the Admin Control Panel for you :)
