So I have been steadily expanding my original army but haven't been online because I have been on a Tau-based 40k diversion for the last couple of months. With the next tournament I am attending coming up in a couple of weeks, now is the time to finalize my list and my painting projects for it.
Here is the link to my original army:
http://z3.invisionfree.com/Orc__Goblin_War...opic=29602&st=0Basically it was night gobbos, trolls, hoppers, chariots and a pair of doom divers.
Here is the list I am planning on fielding. There are some hard comp restrictions (namely only 3 night gobbo shamans and a cap of 28 savage orc big'uns) that it takes into account.
Savage Orc Level 4 w/ fencers blades, lucky head, other trickers shard
Black Orc BSB w/ +1 leadership banner, shield
Night gobbo lvl 1 w/ dispel scroll
Night gobbo lvl 1 w/ ruby ring of ruin
Night gobbo lvl 1
25 Savage Orc Big Uns w/ standard and musician
36 night gobbo spears w/ 2 fanatics, standard, musician
36 night gobbo spears w/ 2 fanatics, standard, musician
8 trolls
20 squigs/7 herders
2 chariots
2 chariots
2 manglers
2 pump wagons
2 doom divers
2 catapults
I still have to paint the herders, the catapult crew, the 2 pump wagons and the savage orc lvl 4 and the bsb. And some more movement trays. Everything else is done. That said... I could very well add some new units.
The goal of the army is to play in all phases of the game. With 4 warmachines, I can hang back and shoot a bit. With 4 mages channelling, 3 of which can get mushroom dice, plus a bound spell I should have a solid magic phase. Then when they get there I have two steadfast units (should be at least) and 3 beatstick units plus some chariot support.
Ideally I would have room for nets on the gobbos and a third chariot unit, but I just don't see the points for them. I dig having 3 units that can fight up close. One idea was to drop the trolls in favor of a unit of herds and a unit of chariots, but the trolls are just so fun and are one of the few units that can truly take a punch without giving up combat resolution.
Thoughts?
Pictures of completed savage orcs and squigs will come soon (when I finish their movement trays).
