Hello everyone. I'm currently painting up a wyvern. It's going to be green with black scales and black fleshy-flappy wing bits (technical term). Green and black is fairly classic colours and it'll tie in well with the rest of my army (browns /blacks /green (skins) & orange (squigs).
Now I want the green to be different to the goblinoid skin, so instead of using dark angels/snot/goblin green I've started with Orkhide shade followed by a Thraka green wash. I'll do another coat of Orkhide over this to brighten it up a bit after the inkwash. My question is, where should I go from there? I was thinking orkhide/camogreen mix, followed by camo green and a final highlight of camo/dheneb stone but as it's such a big model (and I hate painting!) I don't want to get it wrong. Any opinions?
By the way the wings/scales will be black followed by black/shadow grey/final highlight of shadow grey. Bones/teeth/claws usual bone type colour.
Thanks for any help/advice/offers to paint it up for free that might come my way!
You could try a wash of black paint to make it look dark, dirty and evil. Inks are great but washes open a whole realm of possibilities.
I miss the old scaly green, that was awesome on Wyverns...
