The way I play, that sounds about right.

No one knows. Every known dead greenskin has died violently. It may be that they just live until something kills them.

I also support this :)

Skarsnik, the lord - September 5, 2011 06:42 PM (GMT)
Me too. All greenskins are going to die violently, nobody will live forever.

...Except Skarsnik, the Lord of the Eight Peaks. ;)

- Cheers, Skarsnik.

Serious.... a couple of fights

Ghorug - September 5, 2011 09:14 PM (GMT)
Hmph.. isn't the age of on Orc counted by the amount of scars they have? :)

Morkmillian - September 5, 2011 09:36 PM (GMT)
im sure in one of the armie books it says somthing about the older a orc the thicker and darker his skin becomes?

but doenst say how old they can get if i remember

may be wrong or its diff orcs

Da Spawn Man - September 5, 2011 11:59 PM (GMT)
Just think about this though... How long DOESN'T an orc NOT live? Hmm? Answer THAT! *Closes case*

Grimskul25 - September 6, 2011 02:16 AM (GMT)
If they're anything like orks in 40K its possible that they could potentially live for an extremely long time like dwarves or elves, considering how hardy they are. The only reason why long-lived orcs seem/is rare is because of the constant infighting that result in weeding out the weak/unwary and the very quick replacements of leaders either due to death in battle or from challenges. I'm presuming the older the orc gets the bigger he is also which I'm guessing the oldest (most likely) are the Black Orc Warbosses still surviving in the northern regions close to where the chaos wastes are.

theorox - September 6, 2011 04:55 AM (GMT)
Yeah, Gorbad Ironclaw might still be alive out there...and that'd make him over 800 years old. :)

When did Grimgor come out of the Chaos Wastes?

Greenskins are half fungus half animal and they live forever until killed... they only grow bigger and bigger. When they get killed, the spores start to multiply and new greenskins emerge...

Me too.

I've always assumed that 40k Orks are the same as Warhammer Orcs. So I agree with Gradolt too. Older = bigger and tougher. Greenskins don't die of old age as most of them don't get a chance!

Snikpik - September 6, 2011 08:58 PM (GMT)
I am wondering if Grom would live for longer due to his regenration. Perhaps he is still on Ulthuan plotting his revenge...

Da Spawn Man - September 6, 2011 09:12 PM (GMT)
There isn't a single orc I've heard of that's died of old age - there is no question we should already know this guys...

Snikpik - September 6, 2011 09:50 PM (GMT)
There would still be a mean life expectancy.

Kera Foehunter - September 6, 2011 10:14 PM (GMT)
Well i have to say not long lol
Just ask Mr. Gorgut he lived in hell since i meet him -_-

Snikpik - September 7, 2011 06:46 AM (GMT)
One of the goblin shaman figures suggests that goblins at least can live in to old age. Then again there are also Orc bullies to consider. Arent they supposed to be 'over the hill' Orc's?

Captn Morgrim - September 8, 2011 07:41 AM (GMT)
And so does the toothless Orc Shaman ye got in 7th edition, doesn't it?

Anyways, back to the question:

Insert-stereotypical-Dwarf-boast-here!

As for Grom the Paunch: Come to think of it that the blighter regenerates his wounds and might go on living for a long time, what happens if a substantial part gets hacked off? Could another Grom grow out of that? It might at least explain Scibor's fattie Gobbos which I recently discovered.

Bounce - September 8, 2011 08:17 AM (GMT)
I would say the life expectancy would vary considerably between different guys.
Savage Orc Boar Riders- Not very long- A few months? Not sure how long it takes an Orc to reach fighting capabilities but once he does his life is pretty much over during his first battle most likely.
Night Goblin Archers or possibly some Goblin Shamans could live for ages because they are always sneaking out of fights rather than getting into them
