Oi, boyz!
Lukin for sum orc'n'goblin stuff dere? Deriz sum stuff now! :yarr!:
Okay, enough joking..I'm working on a Bloody Sun themed army now.

So, my army is based around this mighty tribe from WAR game.., because the characters, dialogues, quests in the greenskin zones is just amazing  but we'll talk about main theme a little later. and now - the first miniatures of my new army.

I will start with the pictures of Night Gobbo warboss w/GW..

Oh wow very nice, you seem to have painted the first night goblin from Skull Pass I have ever seen with fingernails

BorkBork - November 23, 2010 10:34 PM (GMT)
wow, very nice conversion and very nicely painted.

looking forward to more
:)

Wazoo - November 23, 2010 11:41 PM (GMT)
Very cool conversion (someone owns both "battle for skull pass" and "island of blood" I see)!

Very well painted too! I love the gobbo's face and the colouring around the rune on the hildebard (can't remember how to spell that) and the gems. Also a nice use of shiny varnish on the squig's tongue and lips....

Very nice!

Nice painting scheme. Nice addition of the wet tongue and lips on the squig.

WWAAAAAAAWSOME Squig :o

I want one. Scratch that, I want tons of them!!!! Very nice work one the two models. thumps up :)

Paiant Slapah - November 24, 2010 11:48 PM (GMT)
Wow, awesome paint job on the boss and squig!

The more I look, the more I see and notice. You'll have to share some of your painting techniques with us (such as the gems, green effect on the copper, etc.).

Warpboss - November 25, 2010 02:15 AM (GMT)
Fanks ^_^
Well, it's not difficult to create :)
Gems(as well as squig teeth & lips) is made with a gloss varnish on it.
Metal parts are made with many glazes of green, brown, red and blue colors.
"Green effect" on goblin axe - blue+green glaze two or three times, and again, with adding some white. ;)

P.S.
Tutorial, which I use when painting metallics:

Also, check out this blog for more guides.

Wazoo - November 25, 2010 12:49 PM (GMT)
Now that I think about it is obvious that the gems were coated in gloss varnish.... But to get that effect you still need to layer the colour under the varnish right?

Also I know this may be a stupid question, and I think I know the answer but I am not sure so I will ask anyway.... What exactly is a glaze?

Absolutely beautiful painting, man. Your technique is fantastic, and the conversions are somewhat subtle yet really effective.

Hello again! changed blog name, because its content would be very diverse. I have too many ideas for this army and it is impossible to fit in the theme of one tribe

and little update..
Firstly, goblin painted during "alco-painting" party  that we spend with my friend from time to time
perhaps it will be something like goblin boss-bsb :)

and secondly, the test paint scheme for the orcs(rather, their skintone) which I'm doing now for a commission

the test color on the orc skin is great! it's just a bit darker than the goblins. big fan! looking forward to see how a regiment will look. i'm sure it'll be good!

Warpboss - December 4, 2010 01:36 PM (GMT)
Hmm..night goblin regiment boss?

Man, I'd really like to get a skin tutorial for that forest goblin banner bearer. That final, extreme highlight you do REALLY gives them something extra that makes them "pop".

Warpboss - December 4, 2010 02:01 PM (GMT)
heh, thanks
in general, I paint the skin using green+yellow(forgot the names of colors, because I mix colors by eye..its probably golden yellow and snot/goblin green..and foundation orkhide shade as a base color).
although I can do a little step by step (at orc face for exapmle) in a short time.. :)

Wazoo - December 4, 2010 06:30 PM (GMT)

Wow !! need i say more

Wazoo - December 7, 2010 03:48 PM (GMT)
Whoa, that goblin boss looks fantastic! Does the blood on the sword have some depth, i.e. is it raised slightly over the rest of the sword?

My only comment would be that the wood on the pistols handle is a little bland in comparison to the rest, maybe a more contrasting colour would be more appropriate?

Wazoo

Warpboss - December 28, 2010 11:21 AM (GMT)
Oh, education drive me crazy. I have absolutely no time to rest and for my goblins))
Thanks for your comments :)
Wazoo, yes, blood has a depth and made with a gloss varnish. in fact there is a bloody mess on his sword :yarr!:

and a little update
at first, I want to share a link (also, you can find a link to it in my signature) to my blog which will focus on the night goblins - http://fungalbrew.blogspot.com/
follow me there, friends ^_^

Unfortunately, the blog is in Russian. Although there will be mostly pictures, not text, but if you're interested in not only watch but read my blog, I might try to update it in English too :)

and secondly - WIP picture of the pirate of all pirates, kaptin Badrukk :yarr!:

Dont pay attention to the square base, I'm not going to use it as orc warboss with trophy Hochland long rifle  I dont have a round base

Warpboss - December 29, 2010 08:05 PM (GMT)
Little update on my blog. Now all the blog posts are also available in English. :)

Wazoo - December 30, 2010 12:27 AM (GMT)
That's a very cool model! It is a little hard to see where it is going due to the WIP status but the checkers on the sword is brilliant! I would love to see it fully painted!

Fanks :)

Gabus - January 1, 2011 05:44 PM (GMT)
Nice squig on the left BTW. :)

Bases are awesome. And you NEED good bases for ethereal goblins, since you can see right through them. :D

All jokes aside progress is great! Keep it up in the new year.

Warpboss - January 1, 2011 09:54 PM (GMT)
Har-har, ethereal goblins)) great idea!
