Well, with the current trend seeming to be to load up on the most powerful single unit you can make, I figured I'd like to see how the Orcs could get in on that.

About twelve Savage Pig 'Uns lead by a Savage Big Boss/Warboss with a War Banner or Banner of Butchery.

Oughta steamroller just about anything in the way.

on the other hand if it gets charged or is in subsequent round of combat, they might die a lot faster then the new deathstars :P

a dung load of blorcs w/ shield full command banner of butchery, warboss on boar tooled up, bsb on boar w/ morks


lots of bodies, although still not as goood as others

Orcs cannot do the deathstar even decently.

It's pricey as all get out, but what about 10 squig herds? 50 models, immune to psych and the always random squig-plosion!

the latter would have been nice if they exploded as they did in the previous edition :P

Half of that game would be the compulsory movement phase!

New thought-ten or fifteen trolls (stone, maybe?) led by Gorbad. Decent charge range, fear, stupidity almost utterly taken care of, and incredibly resilient. Incredibly pricey, but it IS a Death Star.

100 night gobos 50x50! All your characters in the unit, Full Command, Nets, Spears and maxed out with fanatics. Now if that's not a death star, I don't know what is!

Um, 50x50 goblins is 2,500 models. Did you mean 10x10?

It are goblins that are killed easy and don't move fast so it is certainly not a death star, but big units from gobbos are funny. Back in 6ed I used 2 units from 80 goblins :yarr!:. The closest thing we have to a deathstar is a unit of savage pig'uns with a warboss in it.

as a joke i did 14 stone trolls, BO WB on IB boar and BSB (butchery i think) on boar. was AMAZING. really expensive but AMAZING. might have to try as a joke with my new NG army. lol. i regularyly use big units of herds. really messes with my opponents heads.

THAT would be a hell of a deployment phase to see.

Never tried a single all out approach. As greenskinpower says, its not really an option with Greenskins. If you do it, you better have a way to nullify animosity and, as best you can, psychology too. Our gits are too unreliable. Redundancy is the name of the game.

How about:

Savage Orc Big Boss, Porkos Pigstikka, on Boar

All four of these guys in a units of:

24 Savage Orc Boar Boy Big-uns with full command and the Banner of Butchery.

Put them in a 7x4 formation.

Static combat res is 7 (banner, BSB, warbanner, outnumber, 3 ranks)

Ungodly number of attacks, Immune to psychology, frenzied, auto-Waaagh!

I'm not sure if you'd have enough points left for core, though!

im planing to run 9 SOBB with a black orc warboss, this can take out almost anything well i hope :)

You don't want to do this with a black orc! If you roll a 1 for Animosity, you will see your expensive boar boyz killed by your black orc. Trust me, it's a bad deal.

I've seen a few people try. The above Savage Pig 'Un unit is probably the best solution. That said, I think Grimgor and a big unit of Immortalz is pretty rock hard. It doesn't really fit the 'Death Star' criteria though.

7x7 unit with 43 night goblins full command, net, fanatics, spear. Add bo warboss on boar with battleaxe of last waaagh, bo big boss on boar with shagas and a bo bsb on boar with martogs best basha and kickin boots.

on a charge this unit will deal out following attacks

5 * WS2 S3
3 * WS3 S5
7 * WS7 S8
4 * WS7 S5
3 (6) * WS6 S4 (7) (shagas)

static cr is 3 ranks, banner, bsb, outnumber (mostl units) = 6

with autowaaagh this will rock! costs around 1000 pts

and if they are charged they can hit back hard!

Trolls are extremely good. It's just theyre stupid and few are deft enough to accept that for how amazingly good they are.
