They finally found Bobby. He was alive thank God for that. That had been the good news. Of course naturally, if there was a good news, there was the bad news. What he told them next made her frozen in her spot for a good minute or so. Bobby’s words echoed inside her head over and over. He got Adam Rachel. Lucifer was possessing Adam’s body. She didn’t exactly know what to feel. And a few weeks after learning about that, she still didn’t know what to feel.

The bar wasn’t too crowded but it wasn’t empty either. Blue eyes stared at the amber liquid swirling inside her glass. Those same blue eyes were begging to allow the tears to fall. But she adamantly refused. She wasn’t going to cry. She could still save Adam. Chris told her not to get her hopes up. But she refused to accept that. Pressing her lips, she brought the glass up to her lips and downed the drink.

She set the empty glass down and motioned for the bartender for another refill. As he poured more Scotch in her glass he reminded her that she already had a lot. Darkened blue eyes landed on the man behind the counter.

“I can handle it. But thanks for the concern.”

Her tone telling the man to simply back off.

They'd managed to track her down. That was the first thing that had entered into Chris's mind, that Isabel hadn't been able to slip under the radar on them this time. Even better, they'd even found the motel she was staying at, sadly she wasn't there when Lily went to surprise her. There was a man there, from what Chris knew, he assumed it was one of the Winchesters, he assumed Sam since he looked around Matthew's age, but couldn't be for sure as to who.

Since he invited Lily inside to wait, she had signaled for him to lay low, not something he was comfortable with since he didn't know the guy his sister was now in a motel with. Still she could take care of herself, she had his cell and he'd beat that guy to a bloody pulp if he hurt his sister. Some how he got the feeling he didn't have to worry though. Hence the reason he took his motorcycle over to the bar down the street to grab a beer.

As he entered into the place he found that it wasn't particularly busy, looked like some people came for a meal and the others were regulars. Either way, he blended in quiet nicely. There was one bartender on duty, he noted, serving a woman as he walked up to the bar. He managed to catch something guy said about her having to many, but his attention turned to her when she replied back.

“I can handle it. But thanks for the concern.”

Chris fought to keep the grin off his lips at that comment. Sounded like she was a bit feisty, that or she just had one hell of a day. Either way, he decided to be careful if they ever came in contact, which was why he took a seat two stools down from her.

His knuckles wrapped lightly against the bar top. "Bud light," he said as the bartender looked at him. "Bottle."

The bartender had rose up his hands silently telling her that he was wisely backing off. Pressing her lips, she curled her fingers around the now filled up glass and she took a small sip. She licked her lips and set the glass back down when she felt her phone vibrate inside her jacket. Chris had been calling her none stop ever since she hasn’t checked in about three hours ago. Sighing rather heavily, she finally fished out her cell and flipped it open. Before she could say anything, even a ‘hey’, Chris’ voice was booming on the other line basically asking where the hell was she. Profanities aside of course.

She exhaled again as she raked her hand through her hair. “Poppa…” She tried to get in at least a word or two of response but the old man continued on with the litany of how she shouldn’t take off like that. That she should have checked in at the time he told her to. She closed her eyes and groaned softly.

“Poppa.” She said firmly prompting the older hunter to stop yapping. Her words not anybody else’s. “I’m fine okay. I’m at some bar. I’ll be home soon.” She said on the other line.

“Yes. I’m always careful. You know that.” She added. And then finally a smile broke free from her lips. A real one this time.
“You have to stop getting me to smile you know. I’m supposed to have a suck ass day.” She replied softly. Another smile came over her lips.

“Fine. Okay. Just go will you? The bartender here is staring at me. Prolly think I’m manic depressive or somethin’.” She commented as she turned her eyes on the bartender who was indeed looking at her with a smile of his own.

“Alright. Bye. See you later.”

With that said, she flipped her phone close and stuffed it back inside her jacket. The bartender still had that goofy smile on his lips. She shook her head as she tendered to her drink once more.

“This is my last one. Happy now?”

He nodded. “Very. Pretty girl like you shouldn’t be drinking too much. Lots of jerks out there that could take advantage.”

Rachel scoffed. “Trust me big guy. This pretty girl can pack a punch if the situation calls for it.” She replied in a rather cryptic way before she finally took a sip from her drink.

With a nod of thanks to the bartender, he grabbed the bottle and brought it up to his lips to take a long swing. The cold liquid flooded his mouth before it rushed down his throat, and all he could think was that the beer certainly it that spot. With a satisfied groan, he looked back to the bartender and was about to ask for a cheeseburger, when the woman he noticed started to talk on her cell.

Chris' eyes strayed to her, listening as she spoke to her dad, or so he assumed. He hoped it was her father, though he knew that thought probably would be fruitless. A shrug of his shoulders had him bringing the bottle back to his lips once more.

“I’m fine okay. I’m at some bar. I’ll be home soon.”

Well didn't sound like an annoyed boyfriend or anything like that.

“Yes. I’m always careful. You know that. You have to stop getting me to smile you know. I’m supposed to have a suck ass day.”

He also noticed the smile on her lips, how it lightened her somehow. With the black hair, there was a darkness to her, something that said danger. Even he picked up on it or maybe that was just her mood. Either way, with that smile, she seemed like a flower opening on the first day of spring.

“Fine. Okay. Just go will you? The bartender here is staring at me. Prolly think I’m manic depressive or somethin’.”

Chris managed to stifle a laugh with another sip of his beer. He was sure that would be the case with anyone, but he didn't think so. Of course she wasn't talking about you, now is she, he thought silently.

That forced him to shake his head and advert his eyes from her. Right now he couldn't even think about hooking up, he had to wait to see what Lily found out. Even better, managing to see Isabel and finding out just what the hell had been going on in these last few weeks. Or was it months? Ugh, he'd lost track so long ago, now everything ran together.

“This is my last one. Happy now?”

“Very. Pretty girl like you shouldn’t be drinking too much. Lots of jerks out there that could take advantage.

“Trust me big guy. This pretty girl can pack a punch if the situation calls for it.”

This time he couldn't cover the laugh that left him. As he shook his head, the bottle came up to his lips as he glanced in their direction and he caught a dirty look from the bartender. "Sorry buddy, but what'd you expect her to say?" he replied with a shrug. "Save me from the big bad world? And could I get a cheeseburger?"

The laughter that came off to her side made her turn her head and look at the culprit. One of her brow lifted up. Rachel wasn’t quite sure if she should be mad at him for laughing or no. She was still deciding on it when the guy spoke up.

"Sorry buddy, but what'd you expect her to say? Save me from the big bad world? And could I get a cheeseburger?"

Okay. So she shouldn’t get mad at him. He wasn’t being a chauvinistic pig. At least not yet. She turned her attention back at the bartender. “It’s okay Lou.” She said with now a soft smile on her lips.

“Been down the ‘damsel in distress’ road and it’s not fun.”

The look that she had gotten from the bartender made her roll her eyes. She chuckled softly. “I can take care of myself. Trust me.” She told him reassuringly.

Setting her attention back on her drink, she moved to down it and then set the glass down on the counter. Stuffing her hand inside her jacket pocket, she took out a few bills out and paid for her orders. “There you go. And keep the change. You deserve a tip for watching out for me.” She commented looking at the bartender. Rachel moved off the stool and playfully winked the bartender before moving to make her way towards the door.

Chris listened as she spoke again to the bartender. Oh, so she wasn't going to speak to him? He had to smirk at that, while he heard the bartender grunt something about putting in the order.

Well that was fine, she didn't have to speak to him. Of course, that just made him want to speak to her even more. Wasn't how that usually was? Maybe it was just him, but she pulled at his interest for a very different reason. That was more then a lot of girls had done these past few years.

“There you go. And keep the change. You deserve a tip for watching out for me.”

He watched from the corner of his eyes as she neared him, his fingers lightly playing against the bottle he had. When she was close enough, he glanced at her and smiled. "So if you're not a damsel, what are you?"

Rachel paused at the question. With one brow cocked, she turned to look at him. “I’m someone you don’t wanna mess with.” She replied back. Ugh. She hoped to God that he wasn’t going to be someone that was going to use cheesy pick lines in an attempt to get her interested in hooking up. Now wasn’t the right time to be going for that with her. And she wasn’t going to betray her missing boyfriend just because he was well, missing.

Tossing her hair over her shoulder, her blue eyes took in the guy’s appearance. There was something about him. Something rather familiar yet not at that same time. She couldn’t put her finger on it.

The huntress splayed her hand on her hip as she tilted her head slightly and continued to look at the man before her.

“Please don’t tell me you’re goin’ to use some cheesy pick up line on me. ‘Cause I’m tellin’ you, it’s not goin’ to work. I’ve had way too many of that for tonight.”

“I’m someone you don’t wanna mess with.”

"I'll start shaking in my boots after I finish my beer." With a smirk, he took another drink of said beer and watched her. He noted the way she checked him out, how she was studying him. Not that he minded, he didn't mind when a woman checked him out and she was certainly a woman. Maybe he should rethink about hooking up with someone here.

When she planted her hand hand on her hip, his brow rose some. What'd he done? As far as he knew nothing. Maybe that was the problem.

“Please don’t tell me you’re goin’ to use some cheesy pick up line on me. ‘Cause I’m tellin’ you, it’s not goin’ to work. I’ve had way too many of that for tonight.”

Chris gave a slight laugh and shook his head. "Well you don't need to worry about that," he replied. "I don't do cheesy pick up lines. Especially to a woman who's already said that she's someone I don't wanna mess with."

She couldn’t help but roll her eyes at his boots comment. He could be fresh when he needed to and all she could think was smacking him upside the head if that would mean for him to shut up. God, when had she turned into a full on bitch? She wasn’t normally like this. But with everything that has happened, she couldn’t even find the urge to actually be friendly to other people. It was always like she was having a sucky day every day. Chris already told her to at least relax. Easier said than done. How could she relax when her guy was out there being possessed by the devil himself?

"Well you don't need to worry about that, I don't do cheesy pick up lines. Especially to a woman who's already said that she's someone I don't wanna mess with."

Rachel nodded. “Good. At least we have that settled.” She replied back to him. She was about to move forward and make her way towards the door when a couple of guys walked passed by and one of them grabbed her ass and gave it a good squeeze. That prompted her to stop and whipped her body around to face them. They were both chuckling as they kept walking forward.

“Spineless jerks.” She called out.

That caused both guys to stop and look back at her. One of the guys smirked and took a few steps forward closing the distance between them. “Well would you have said yes if I asked permission?” He asked before he lustily eyed her up and down. It wasn’t long after when his eyes settled over her chest.

“Man look at them pair. Makes me want to reach up and grab them.” As he said this, he brought his hands up and made a gesture in the air as if he was actually going to grab her.

“Good. At least we have that settled.”

"That we do," he agreed with a slight nod of his head. As he grinned at her, he took another drink of his beer and watched as she turned to the door. The grin was wiped from his face as a guy grabbed her ass as he walked in with his buddy. Because of how he was raised, plus having two sisters, that didn't sit well with him at all.

“Spineless jerks.”

“Well would you have said yes if I asked permission?”

Chris gritted his teeth as he silently rose from the stool. His eyes landed on the bartender who was reaching for something and he shook his head slowly, telling him to wait. Slowly he turned and took a step towards them.

“Man look at them pair. Makes me want to reach up and grab them.”

Like a lighten strike, Chris' hand shot forward to grab the guy's wrist before he twisted it around behind his back. As he did this, he spun around, placing himself in front of the woman and facing towards the jerk's friend. "You wanna grab on something, go visit a grocery story," he growled as he shoved the guy forward, into the other one. "Now get your act together before I let her kick both your asses."

Her hand moved and was about to grab the guys’ wrists when another hand shot forward and grabbed it for her. She drew her brows together as the guy who helped her out managed to maneuver himself between her and the guys. Pressing her lips, she moved to fold her arms across her chest. She could have handled both guys with his help. She knew that. But maybe because of the alcohol she had consumed for the past hours, she may have been a bit slow on defending herself.

"You wanna grab on something, go visit a grocery story,"

She was broken away from her own little world and focused back on the guy and the jerks. Jerk number one was shoved towards jerk number two. The last thing he said made her smirk at least. Well at least he didn’t have the ‘knight in shining armor’ complex and took everything as his responsibility. Slightly buzzed she can still kick their asses.

Rachel moved from behind the guy and stood right beside him.

“An’ trust me fellas, I can.”

Both guys, moved away from them. Rachel took a step forward. “Hey!” She called out. Both guys stopped and turned to look. The huntress tilted her head slightly, one brow rose up.

“You owe me somethin’”

Jerk number two nudged jerk number and for a while, he refused. Until Rachel got impatient and took another step forward.

“I’m sorry.”

She smirked and shook her head. “Not good enough.”

“What do you want me to do? Beg?”

She shook her head again and then averted her eyes on the bartender. “Hey Lou, shots for everyone. Courtesy of dumb and dumber here.”

The bartender smirked. “You got it.”

Jerk number one grumbled and they both walked away from them. Rachel turned to face her saviour. “I could have handled them myself you know. You didn’t need to swoop in like Superman.” She pointed out.

“But thanks anyway.”

“An’ trust me fellas, I can.”

Chris dared a glance at her with a slight smirk. His attention turned back to the guys as she called them back and demanded what she was owed. Casually he crossed his arms in front of his chest as he watched. They didn't seem all that interested in apologizing at the moment.

“I’m sorry.”

“Not good enough.”

“What do you want me to do? Beg?”

“Hey Lou, shots for everyone. Courtesy of dumb and dumber here.”

“You got it.”

That made him laugh as he shook his head. She certainly had style about her. Not to mention that it was seriously attractive.

“I could have handled them myself you know. You didn’t need to swoop in like Superman.”

He smirked.

“But thanks anyway.”

"And here I was worried you wouldn't be able to express gratitude," he commented. "You're welcome, Lane." With a wink, he moved back to the bar as he fished his wallet out of his front pocket. Something told him getting something to eat somewhere else might be a good idea while those two goons were still hanging around.

She rolled her eyes at his comment. Of course that last remark made her speechless for a moment. As he moved back to the bar, she couldn’t help but watch him. A smile crept up her lips as she shook her head. Now was so not the time to be finding herself getting attracted to another man. Not when her guy was most likely suffering under Lucifer’s possession. Maybe it was the alcohol talking. That and she was bordering to desperation. She wanted comfort. Needed it. Because everything around her was in chaos.

Sighing she turned around and walked out of the bar. Slowly, she made her way towards her bike. Her mind racing as she did so. She shouldn’t even consider it but she seriously had this urge to wait up for him. Instead of doing just that, she forced herself to move forward. No. If she wanted to feel comforted and safe, she was going to have to wait. Until Adam was set free.

"You didn't put the cheeseburger order in yet have you?" he asked the bartender and was thankful at the shake of his head. "Don't worry about it. Here's for the beer and tip." He laid down some money before he headed for the door himself.

Part of him wondered where the woman had walked off to, but he knew it was probably best to just forget about her. He didn't have time to be distracted. And why the hell hadn't Lily called yet? With a frustrated sigh, Chris made his way to where he had parked his motorcycle.

As he walked, he glanced around out of habit as a hunter, but when he brought his eyes back in front of him, he smirked. Okay, maybe a little distraction wasn't that bad. Besides, she did know how to handle herself.

"Hey Lane," he called, "are you gonna need a lift?"

Halfway to her bike, she heard his voice. She closed her eyes and stopped dead on her tracks. God must be testing her. With a sigh, she opened her eyes and turned around to look at the guy.

“Why? You gonna fly me to where I need to be Kent?” She asked with a smirk playing over her lips.

She folded her arms across her chest. “Thanks for the offer but I have my baby right there.” She said before thumbing in the direction of where she had parked her ‘baby’.

“How about you? Do you need a lift?” She asked in return.

“It’s the least I can do for helping me back there.”
