Castiel locked his steel gaze on Lucifer, straightening himself out after he'd recomposed and stood up. It was times like these when he wished he had the full backing of Heaven, others who would assist him but he knew this was entirely on his own. He was alone in this fight. Satisfied with the violent jerk of Lucifers head at the punch he threw, Castiel prepared to strike another blow but felt the devils hand clamp around his throat first for a moment before tossing him across the room like a rag doll. The thundering crash of his body hitting solid wall echoed throughout the room, a testament to the fact that this was not a fight between anything that resembled mortals. The body he was in would have snapped like a twig upon that kind of impact if it hadn't been possessed. For a moment Castiel wondered if Jimmy could have felt that but pushed that away.

Dragging himself back upwards to his feet as fast as he could with the slight dizzyness that came with that blow, Castiel narrowed his eyes back at Lucifer and shook his head. "They don't deserve death. You do." He replied coldly. The angel didn't muster up any gusto, his voice still holding the same edge to it in it's own monotone way. "As for Dean...he's meant to defeat you. I have faith that he will." He added with the slightest of nods and ran at Lucifer, his body colliding with the other mans and forcing him back into the wall with another crushing boom. "They will stop you. God will make sure of it. I will make sure of it." For a second, Castiel realized the similarities between him and Lucifer but shook them off. The fact that they were both fallen in everyone elses eyes was a prominant detail that the angel chose to ignore.

“Let’s go…”

Isabel nodded and tightened her hold on Sam before she followed Dean's lead. She was still fairly weak from the dreams attack, but she knew she had to do what she could to get Sam out of there. After that, she didn't know what would happen.

She could hear the words from Castiel and Lucifer, but chose to ignore them. Right now she needed to focus on Dean and Sam, that was the only way to help. If she got drawn into the argument behind them, she wouldn't be able to keep her eyes out for anything that might be coming for them now.

"Was the exit this hall or the next?" she asked Dean.

The way that Castiel’s body hit the wall with a thundering crash made Lucifer smirk in very tainted way. The vessel the other angel was occupying was one lucky son of a bitch. If he had still been human, his body would have been broken ten ways from Sunday. It wouldn’t have been a very pretty picture Lucifer was sure of that. Well not for most people. But with the devil, he was positive that he wouldn’t have minded.

"They don't deserve death. You do."

Lucifer scoffed at him. Right. Like he would easily accept that. If there was anyone who deserved demise right at that moment, it was Castiel.

"As for Dean...he's meant to defeat you. I have faith that he will."

“Are you sure about that Castiel?” He asked him confidently. “Father picked a very tainted man to save your asses and you trust His judgment? Come on brother. Open your eyes for once. Stop the blind faith you have in Him.”

He felt his body hit the wall. The wall cracked and rumbled in protest at the force they had inflicted on it. Lucifer grabbed the lapels of Castiel’s coat and pushed him away from his body. Eyes blazed in anger and annoyance.

“No one can stop me. I will make sure of it.”

Swiftly, his hand grabbed for Castiel’s throat and started to squeeze it. He began mumbling something in Latin as he tried to yank the angel away from his vessel.

He wanted to help Castiel out, he really did but with Sam now unconscious and with Isabel not being at her sharpest, he made a tough decision. Leave Castiel to deal with Lucifer alone. It was something that he didn’t want the angel to deal with but he just couldn’t allow Isabel take care of Sam when she was someone that should be looked after herself. The hunter gritted his teeth as he led both hunters out of the room.

"Was the exit this hall or the next?"

“Don’t worry about it.” He said as he guided them out of the room. “I got it covered.” He added. With a grunt, he adjusted his hold on Sam. “That’s it, you’re cutting back on your carbs. Dude you’re freakin’ heavy.” He muttered as if Sam could actually hear him.

Castiel narrowed his eyes at Lucifer, jaw clenching a few times. The thing in front of him had no right to judge anyone, hand picked or not by God. “I’ll always have faith in Dean. In the Winchesters. In God. Something that you will never deserve to have again.” He said, raising his head almost defiantly at Lucifer. If he was going to be destroyed, if his demise was going to come at the hands of the devil then Castiel was determined to make sure he died with his beliefs in tacked, and heard. Lucifer didn’t have the power to tell him to stop having his faith, no one did. Though Castiel had doubts, he’d always have faith. After throwing Lucifer into the opposite wall and ramming into him, Castiel tried to keep up the force to keep Lucifer pinned but was pushed back by the other man.

“Now that, brother, is the one thing I do doubt. You will be stopped.” The angel felt Lucifers hand clamp around his throat and Castiel’s hand automatically gripped around his wrist, prepared to pry off his hand but he heard the Latin first. It was old Latin. Made to drive an angel from it’s vessel and send it away. Castiel blinked a few times, his head filling with the sound of the words, making it harder to concentrate. His essence began to tear itself away from the walls of his vessel, his limbs starting to lose their strength. No. This had happened once before with Alistair. Mustering up his strength, Castiel slammed his head forward into Lucifer’s, forehead colliding with forehead, hopefully enough to rock the other man enough so he’d stop the chant.

“Don’t worry about it.”

That was the best he could give her? Yeah, so not going to happen right now. Though she should worry, she couldn't help doing just that for Sam's sake.

“I got it covered.”

"Okay," she managed to say as she struggled to keep up and keep Sam up as well. This was a serious bitch.

Isabel could feel a sudden burst of power from behind them and with her ability to hear minds, she could actually hear the conversation between Castiel and Lucifer. A gasp left her before she could stop it. Her head turned to try to catch Dean's eye.

"We have to hurry," she said and shook her head when he started to speak. "No, Dean, we have to leave now. Lucifer is trying to rip Castiel from his vessel. If he does, we're dead."

He didn’t need faith coming from the other angels nor God. He had his own followers. Loyal subjects if you will. Although some needed persuasion, painful one at that, Lucifer did not feel the need to complain because eventually they fall in line. Castiel was going to pay for being so damn… good. He played the good soldier that irked the devil in a not so good way.

No one was going to be able to stop him.

Lucifer couldn’t help but smirk at how Castiel seemed to falter. For a second there the devil thought it was going to be an easy task to tear the angel from his vessel. He thought wrong. The blow between their foreheads made Lucifer jerk his head back causing him to stop with the incantation and release his grasp on the angel as he stumbled backwards. The devil screamed in pain as well in anger.

He outstretched his arm and used his power to throw the angel across the room.

“You insolent fool!”

Dean continued to lead them away from the battle field. Geez, if only Sam wasn’t so freaking heavy! Why did he have to have that damn growth spurt anyway? He had been content with staring down at him. Made the little brother comment more powerful. And then just over night he turned into Chewbacca. Geez.

"We have to hurry,"

“Do I look like m’takin’ my sweet time?”

"No, Dean, we have to leave now. Lucifer is trying to rip Castiel from his vessel. If he does, we're dead."

The hunter gritted his teeth. “Give him to me…” He said to her. He wasn’t really how he had done it but with one swift movement, he hoisted Sam up on his shoulder with a grunt.

“GO!”

“Give him to me…”

"Are you sure?" she asked, but before she got her answer, Dean had already taken Sam. With a quick move, Sam was across his big brother's shoulder. "Are you okay?" The grunt that passed from Dean hadn't gone unnoticed.

“GO!”

Isabel took one look at him before she turned to run. Right now was not the time to argue with Dean Winchester, not when he had that look in his eyes. Instead she pulled out her gun and quickly made her way back towards the entrance. She stopped at the edge of a door to a room, careful to check it and make sure no one was in there.

With a heavy breathing, she pushed herself past the doorway and kept her eyes and ears peeled. She also kept checking behind her. If Lucifer sent someone after them, Dean and Sam would need all the cover power she could give them. It wouldn't be much, but she'd do what she could.

Castiel had his doubts, he wasn't sure what to call right and what to call wrong anymore but he still had his faith. It was solid enough that he would argue it until the day he was destroyed, which might possibly be today. He wasn't hopeful that he would survive, but he pleaded silently to whoever would listen above that he would live long enough to see Dean, Sam and Isabel get away to safety. It would assure that at least the world had hope for stopping the fallen angel in front of him. He would continue to voice the beliefs of his Lord, no matter what. Loyalty, in whatever form, was an honored thing among his brothers, something that he believed used to matter to Lucifer. And he would make sure that the Winchester brothers survived long enough to take the fallen angel down.

For a moment, Castiel was sure he was going to be ripped from his vessel. Trying to expand his entity in the body he inhabited, the angel focused on reattatching himself to every muscle, ever fiber of Jimmy's body to try and stay in but it was hard to focus with the old Latin words echoing through his head. But as soon as he was able to distract Lucifer with a blow to the head, Castiel felt himself be released and the angel staggered backwards, sucking in some air and regaining his composure, almost smug when he heard Lucifers scream of pain and irritation. He wasn't the most powerful among his brothers, but Castiel refused to lose easily in this fight. After a second, the angel looked up, prepared to strike another blow to his enemy but Lucifer was quicker and he felt himself flying across the room before he could counter the blast of power.

Hitting the wall hard and then the ground with a loud, thundering thud, Castiel swallowed the coppery tasting blood that had leaked from a cut on his lip into his mouth. He was getting battered from this fight, light purple bruises beginning to form on his face and vessel, gashes on his head but Castiel tried to shake away the dizzied feeling and slowly rose back to his feet. "You're the fool. Now...I'm telling you now, Lucifer. Walk away. Now." The angel repeated and outstretched his hand, gathering up what power he could to propel the other man upwards to the ceiling and then across the room. "Before you lose a battle that will damage your pride yet again." He said lowly, knowing that Lucifer's pride was a touchy subject. It was what had gotten him kicked out of Heaven in the first place.

He dared to call him a fool? Lucifer could not help but think that Castiel was actually asking for it. It was as if the other angel had just signed his death contract or something. The fallen angel stalked forward as his anger enveloped his entire body. Surge of power and electricity emanated from him and random hit inanimate objects as he walked. Before he could ask what the other angel was going to do, he felt himself being propelled upwards to the ceiling. Instead of allowing the other angel to fly him across the room, Lucifer simply countered it. The falle angel ended up dropping on the ground on his two feet. Lucifer laughed menacingly.

Lucifer stalked forward as he kept his eyes on the angel before him. “I am not going to lose Castiel.” He replied back to him. “Tell me, how come you’re the only ones here? Do you even know where you’re so-called Father is right at this very moment? Did they tell you that he has gone into hiding? Did you even realize that you’re the one that’s doing his dirty work? Tell me what kind of a Father who would do that to his sons and daughters?”

Castiel knew that Lucifer used fear as a powerful weapon. To strike fear into the heart of your opponent almost meant you had won. If you could make them scared of you, intimidate them enough to a point when they would rather just die then face you was a weapon few people knew the power of using. It worked better then any knife, any physical punch. But he refused to let Lucifer do that to him. Castiel was an angel still, and he had his faith. He would not fear this creature in front of him. He promised that to himself. Looking over to make sure the hunters had managed to escape, Castiel felt a bit of relief hit him. He could continue this fight, draw it out, continue to taunt Lucifer as best as he could and best of all, make sure the hunters got far far away from this place. Far enough to where they could hide from this dark, fallen angel. Castiel had never felt an attachment to anyone, except perhaps his Father, but he felt the connection he believed humans called ‘friendship’ towards those hunters, towards the Winchesters.

And if the angel could keep them safe for a while longer by putting himself in the line of fire, then he would. It was his duty, as an angel, and a friend. Castiel’s ice colored eyes darted to the surges of electricity that erupted from Lucifer, and watched as the fallen angel stopped himself from hitting the other wall, and landed lightly on his feet. Castiel was expecting that. At Lucifer’s questions, Castiel faltered a little bit, but he quickly caught himself. “He is not hiding. I have faith he will come back. And I’m going to be the one to find him. Find him so he can destroy you.” Castiel said lowly, nodding his head as he trained his eyes on Lucifer. “My brothers, your former brothers, may not be here but…theirs hope still. We will defeat you. I may not be able to promise you anything else, but I can promise you that. And as long as people have faith in Him, you’ll never win.” He said, taking a brave step towards Lucifer, head tilted upwards. “You will never win.”
