Wrecks listing

Guys.

I thought that I might as well start to put up some of the wreck details of the wrecks that we might be diving on this coming year. The Dakotion is one which we'll probably dive at Pembrokeshire at some point. We did it last year as a second dive on the way back in. It was a nice relaxing dive and if I can remember I think that some of us had bottom times well in excess of an hour and still didn't cover it all

I've got these and other wrecks details in a pdf format which when printed out fit perfectly into the standard PADI type of log book (the one with the ring binder). If anyone knows if it's possible to attach pdf's to this board please let me know (how). Or if John wants to post them on his other web site I can mail him the files.

Hope people find this stuff interesting. I find that it brings a lot of the wrecks into perspective.

Orientation: Bow to the NE lying upright. Intact.

Artifacts: Tinplate by the ton.

Notes
This ship activated a magnetic mine while dropping anchor on the night of
21/11/1940. This blew a large hole in here side and she went down in about 3
minutes. No lives were lost. She was carrying a cargo of tin plate and general
cargo. The wreck is fairly easy to find as a cardinal bouy warns shipping of her
presence. She lies about 150 metres to the north west of the bouy. As she is
intact she is a lovely wreck to dive and you can swim into some of her holds.
Other holds are full to the top with packages of tin plate a metre square. This is
mirror bright and is an interesting sight. The price of tin must mean it is not
worth the salvage for it to be still there.

How big are the pdf files. If there not too big, e-mail them to me on the ocean odyssey e-mail. I'll then put them on the main site for anyone to download.

Each pdf is roughly about 50k I'll mail a couple through for you to play around with.

Send them through. 50k is no problem. I'll set up a wreck sectio on the main site and post each on there. Anyone who wants one can then just print it off. Do you still have the other ones you've done for previous trips?

I think so, but they're on various computers scattered around work and home. I'll see if I can find them and send them through.
