 Old Video Games
Posted by Al - 11-13-09 06:14 - 3 comments
You know amidst all the hype of the new Call of Duty game I've found myself more interested in pulling out some older games that I haven't played in a while.

On the one hand I find it absolutely shocking how some games just do not age at all, and are still as amazingly impressive as I remember them being when I played them the first time all those years ago.

A good example of this is Donkey Kong Country 2. I downloaded it for the Wii and I've been loving the game, as it was actually the first video game I ever remember playing it brought back some great memories. It was (and still is) a beautiful game that has a certain challenge to it that makes you feel determined to win.

Other good examples have been Phantasy Star Online: Episodes 1 + 2 that my friend and I were playing for hours. That was brilliant, although I will never stop hating Episode 2's mindless maze level haha.

Thinking about my good Texan buddy (who has strangely vanished on MSN these days) led me to play good old Star Fox Adventures. I was surprised by how much the graphics have aged, and that fur effects that once impressed me beyond imagination now seemed bland and unrealistic. Tricky is also a bitch. Still, you can't beat this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpiatFCGmoE

I was playing Super Mario Sunshine the other day too. At first it was impressive, but as I continued to play it I realised that had this game been released by today's standards it just wouldn't measure up. Broken controls and weird glitches at a lot of parts of the game just make it unfair and not fun. Also, getting all the stars doesn't give you anything cool at all (unlike Galaxy) so you have no incentive to really finish the game again. I collected about 70 stars then tossed the game back in the case.

It's been a while since I said hi to you guys, but I figured that if I did it may as well be about what this forum was originally dedicated to.

I've spent probably three hours on here. I'm sure you've seen this website before, but I've just discovered that MOST of the topics on the first pages on every subforum are viewable.

The RP Opener that Never Got Posted
Posted by MetalBowser - 06-4-09 03:03 - 3 comments
Me and some guys worked really hard to put together a Windwaker RP over at Gaia and never followed through. Thought you guys might like to read it for some reason.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dawn was approaching now. Marth was absentmindedly strumming his guitar as he lay up on top of the barn roof. He could never sleep. His pick brushed past the strings creating a simple harmonious chord. Now this was music. Good ol’ classic rock! For hours now, Marth had been losing himself in his own music, miles away from the kingdom of Hyrule. He hummed to himself, oblivious to the outer world, until a small rain drop came splashing upon his nose. The wanderer glanced upward and found himself now gazing into something quite unusual. Not that Marth wasn’t use to things being a little strange, what with all the whacky adventures he’d been on and all. There was never a dull moment at the Lon Lon Ranch. But this had to be one of the strangest things he had ever seen. The golden morning horizon slowly disappeared behind a growing darkness. Soon a massive storm cloud had formed overhead. By massive he didn't mean huge or even gigantic, this cloud was covering the entire dawn sky in an uneasy black shade. It had formed so quickly too! More rain began to fall now. Faster and faster. His initial reaction was to ignore it, as frightening as it may seem. He continued to strum now in the pouring rain.
When you find yourself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it b…
But Marth was getting soaked. The rainfall was insane!
Marth snatched up his guitar by the grip and dropped off the edge of the roof, hitting the already muddy ground with a splash. He burst into the inn, yelling, "MB! Fox! Quickly!" throwing his guitar onto the lounge couch. Marth turned slightly, and saw the impossible. At least three inches of water was on the ground already, pouring into the inn door. This was not a normal storm. This was unlike anything he had even seen. It made the wind that blew at Ganon’s return seem like a mid summer’s breeze. He darted up the stairs. He had to warn the others.
Banging on every door firmly with his fist as he ran by, Marth tore open room number ten, maneuvering through the river of clothes and other obscure knick-knacks, searching for anything valuable he might need. Yanking one of his dresser drawers open, he began sorting through useful things. A lighter was deposited into his pocket, along with a small knife and a harmonica, but now as he looked out the window he realized that he would have to flee faster then he had expected. The storm cloud was massive. This was insane! He grabbed random things now, not even processing what he was stuffing into his cloak. Scooping random objects by the handful he shoved all sorts of things into every pocket that he had.
Marth ran back into the hallway to find that his early morning wake up call had cause chaos in the hall. As he exited his room swiftly, Axle rushed past him, his hands full miscellaneous items.
“The hell is up with this rain Marth?” Axle shouted as he darted in the opposite direction down the hall towards Key’s room.
“No clue, but we got to get to higher ground,” he replied quickly as he reached the stairs. As he began his decline down, he heard the distant sound of Axle’s voice replying but he couldn’t make out now what he had said through all the commotion. The droplets of rain furiously exploding against the window panel could be mistaken for a full-out air assault.

MB sat at his dimly lit desk writing in his journal, not looking up to mind the rain. On the bed behind him Toad was sleeping soundly, with the occasional twitch from a chill that traveled down his little spine. But as lightning cracked the small mushroom hopped awake and Bowser looked up from his work. Pushing himself to his feet, MB grabbed his vest off the back of his chair and flipped it on. He took his journal and placed it in the inside pocket. He made his way to the door and water began to spill in. He shut it immediately.
“MB what’s going on?” Toad finally mustered up and asked, still not yet fully awake.
Bowser was silent for a moment. “Pack your things,” he said, “We’re leaving…”
“What?” Toad began to ask, it was too early for the young mushroom to follow, but he couldn’t help but be startled.
Tifa and the others were at the bar; he’d have to go tell them, and then he’d warn his friends at the inn. “Don’t leave the hut…no matter what…start grabbing your things….we have to get out of here. Pack everything….GO!”
Toad had a look of puzzlement on his face for a moment but then right away hopped off the bed and began collecting things, slowly at first but more frantically as the thunder outside grew louder and more rapid.
Opening the door, MB began to run blindly off into the rain, with no real sense of direction whatsoever save his powerful will to warn his friends and leave the ranch.

Fox was laying on top of his Arwing, kicking one foot in the air crossed over the other, his hands propped behind his head. He hummed to himself quietly as he listened to the pitter-patter of the rain lightly tapping against the garage door. On nights like this he liked to think and loose himself in his own music.
There was a crash outside and Fox looked up for a moment. He heard a rustling and then the sound of an electronic door swooshing open and close. He could hear the drizzle outside for a moment but soon enough the little taps of rain were beating against the metallic surface.
Fox’s upper lip curved into a half smile as he heard the squishing footsteps approaching from down the hall drawing closer to the hangar.
“How was the ball?” Fox asked the figure now standing in the doorway.
“Fox, what the hell are you doing here? Go back to the inn. I’m going to close this place for the night.”
“Couldn’t sleep. Marth and his damn guitar was keeping me awake,” Fox said laughing to himself. Faith couldn’t help but smile. “How was the ball?” Fox asked Faith again.
“You know how they all are. King tells a few bad jokes, everybody dances, drinks punch, and I have to kiss a few ugly babies, same old, same old…you didn’t miss anything this time,” Faith was now taking off his jacket.
Fox turned to face Faith, but the smile was quickly wiped off , “Jesus Faith, put some pants on!” He turned away quickly.
“To hell with pants!” Faith replied with a laugh. He adjusted his monocle and tipped his hat to Fox. “Just uh…lock up when you’re done, I’m going to clean up in the other room and then head over to the inn. You’d be smart to do the same.”
“Good night, Faith,” Fox responded, amused with Faith’s annoyance. Faith exited the room, not bothering to take his pants and jacket. Fox returned to his humming.
It wasn’t 5 minutes later though, when Fox started hearing a loud thrashing sound. It wasn’t big at first, or even frequent but as time went on it grew. Fox sat up. Looking around he began to wonder what was up.
What the hell, Faith?
Pushing himself off the hood of his Arwing, Fox hopped to his feet and began to investigate the noise. It was coming from the ceiling. It was really loud now. In the corner, Epoch, the hovercraft slash time machine with the mind of a lovable puppy, began to whimper.
“Hush, hush Epoch…listen!”
But then, there was silence. Fox could hear his own breathing, though it wasn’t even loud. No more noise, it was gone.
The hell?
Water exploded through the ceiling rushing rapidly towards Fox like a cannonball. “giggle!” was all he had time to say before the water slammed him straight in the face and flipped him back off his feet against the floor. The pouring water slowly began to swallow his body under, as he lay there motionless.

Marth came crashing down by the main counter of the inn and was greeted by MB as he came bursting through the door, his orange hair drenched.
"Where in God’s name have you been?" Marth snapped at him, eyeing his guitar. There was no time to pick it up now; his hands were full. He’d have to come back for it in a second load.
MB simply responded, "the bar," trying to keep his voice as cool and collected as possible. He was trying to keep his mind calm to sort things out and figure out what action to take next. A quick glance to MB revealed that he was carrying the head of Mr. T.
“Hey Foo’,” the head said to Marth, “Helluva weather we be havin,”
MB turned grabbing something off a table in the inn, though Marth didn’t catch what it was. He was distracted by Rilla who suddenly popped out from under the counter with a stack of different papers.
“We have to get out of here.” Bowser told the two. Rilla nodded as she lifted a cardboard box and filling it with the random documents.
"You go tell them!" Marth brushed past MB, who darted up the stairs shouting something.
Rilla looked up at Marth. “Someone has to go tell Geno. Knowing the kook his damn weather machine is the cause of this…but he’s probably safe at the top of his tower. I’ll stay here and gather the others.”
Marth nodded as he exited out the door.

Faith scrambled, sliding on the raggedy shirt that he had half put on.
Jesus Fox, can’t a guy change into something more comfortable after a long and draining ball without you making such a racket?
He had heard Fox shout and went to see what he was making a fuss about now. He hadn’t yet even had a chance to put on a pair of pants. Swinging into the doorway, Faith saw huge wave of water roaring towards him.
Not having time to think, he ran. The water poured quickly after him, the hallway seemed to be closing in as well. Time it self seem to freeze for a minute when Faith spotted in sight the hole to the surface. He slammed against the wall, firmly gripping the metal handlebars to brace his collision. He began to climb the ladder until he got to the hatch above. But instead of getting it to pop out, the door shot back at faith, the pressure from the water above the surface now throwing him back to the ground. He splashed below into the already oncoming water and was being tossed and turned everywhere.
With no control of where the rapid waters shooting from all around would take him, Faith suddenly sprang up out of the hatch and up into the surface above as the water flung him several feet into the air. Faith, the hatch door, and his bush all smashed into the ground below, leaves scattering instantly everywhere and being drained down into the hole in the ground. Faith sprung instantly to his feet, snatching his top hat that landed conveniently near by.
“There goes my garage….and my bush…” Faith muttered wiping the water off his monocle with his sleeve. Faith looked around him and saw that it was pouring, and the water was slowly rising. “Best get to the barn roof I figure…what a bad time to be caught without your pants!” He muttered to himself.
Faith began to make his way to the barn, at first stomping through the water but soon he had to really raise his knees about the water to get anywhere. When the foggy vision of the barn came in sight, he soon saw the dark outline of a figure dashing to the inn.
Marth…
He was about to call out but a realization hit him all too quickly. He had recalled that Fox had said Marth was keeping him awake with his guitar. He recalled Fox was still back at the garage. Faith flipped around quickly, slipping into the water, but quickly pushing to his feet he dashed backwards to the garage.

MB ran upstairs, puffing when he reached the top. He sometimes wished that he wasn’t as big as he was. Brute strength was a great ally but speed was what he really needed in this case. Resting his hand firmly against the wall, he looked in front of him. TG approached MB with a shoulder bag swung around his arm. Following him were Axle, Key, and KIC. TG spoke up.
“MB, these are the only people I could find. I haven’t seen Spike or PD, Fox or Faith anywhere!” MB processed his words for a moment before TG continued on. “MB…what should we do?”
MB already knew what he was going to tell them; the same thing he had told Tifa and Master to do. “Run…”
The four stood silent in front of MB for a second before Key finally spoke up. “Uh…what?”
“Run!” MB shouted! “Quick, head for the barn office! Meet me there, take all that you can and run to the barn office.” Everyone was still for a moment, before Axle suddenly scrambled down the stairs yanking Key firmly behind. MB took his hand off the wall and placed it on TG’s shoulder. “Lead them to the barn office. You’ll meet up with Master there. Take T, and wait for me to bring you the wagon. Be brave TG, I’m trusting them with you.” MB placed the head of Mr. T in TG’s hands.
“Hey careful foo!”
TG looked up at his father. “But pops…what about Spike?”
His eyes met his son’s. “Spike is going to be just fine, I promise you…I promise you.”
TG nodded, understanding and accepting this responsibility that had just been bestowed upon him, ran down the steps to catch up. KIC who had been standing there all along, smiled at MB and then bounced down the stairs full of energy, a black kitty scampering closely behind. After inspecting the floor quickly to see everyone had evacuated, MB made his way down the stairs.

“Damn!” Geno through down his screwdriver. Either A) his weather machine was busted beyond repair or cool.gif his weather machine wasn’t the cause of this massive storm. He was starting to lean towards B. “If I could just…figure out what the HELL IS GOING ON!” He through down his fists firmly against his dimly lit desk. He shoved himself to his feet and smacked his hand against his forehead trying to think. Trying to calm down he walked to the window and looked outside. From on top of his tower, Geno could see that all of Hyrule was slowly being flooded, and he couldn’t do a damn thing to stop it. He tried to subdue his frustration, and was even sad for a moment. Perhaps it was actually confusion he was feeling. He tried to think straight but he couldn’t. The cows downstairs were mooing, probably drowning and it was almost painful to listen to.
Geno turned to see that Marth had just burst in and was panting heavily, soaking wet. “What in God’s name are you doing up here?” Marth asked, water dripping from his hair.
“It’s…it’s not the weather machine. I’m almost positive. I’ve tried everything, fixed everything, smashed everything and fixed it again. It’s not broken, and no matter what I try I can’t reverse the effects. This storm’s not in my control.”
They were both silent for a moment and then Marth sprang to life. “Alright then, well get your giggle together we’ve got to get out of here…at the rate this storm’s going to sink everything.” He started grabbing random things from all around the room and stuffing it in the nearest thing that resembled a suit case, which in this case was a cooler with still some soda cans left in it with ice.
Geno cut into Marth’s frantic panic. “Marth…listen to me,” he said in the most serious voice he had perhaps ever had used. This really caught Marth off guard. He had always known Geno to be a fun loving guy and had never heard him like this. “Marth…listen to me for a moment. This storm…this storm’s not like anything I’ve ever seen before. No sir, not at the rate this rain’s coming down. Marth…this, this is it. I think this is what MB was worried about. Remember…when he said that we had bigger things to worry about then Ganon returning, Marth!” Geno’s voice was picking up pace. “Marth this is everything that all those crazy crackpot prophecies have been talking about for a million years and it’s happening today. Marth, today is Apocalypse, the end of the world. Today….my good friend…is the day the music dies and we all go down with it. Today is the end of Hyrule, and we can’t do a damn thing about it. It’s over Marth. Death, which we’ve all have seemed to cheat so many times has caught up to us. There’s no hope for escape from this water….it’s flooding as far as the eye can see. It’s over. It’s simply the end of the line. It’s over… ”
Marth was stunned and didn’t know what to stay. It was almost as if the shock had frozen him in place. There was a shot silence between them that was broken by the cows downstairs again. Geno took this as his cue to speak up again. He shrugged, a bit tense but calmer now. “But hey, I guess that never stopped us before right?”
Marth smiled. “Welcome back, thought I lost you for a second.”
Geno now dumped a handful of junk into the cooler and shut it. “Come on, let’s go meet up with the others.”

“Damn it Glenn wake up!” Cure shouted as he furiously shook Glenn his faithful robot companion. “Glenn, get up you lazy ass and help me before the whole damn garage is flooding with water!” But it was no use. Cure threw his lifeless robot over his shoulder and began to splash his way to his car, past floating pots, pans, and various mechanics tools. It was obvious now that the water had gotten into Glenn’s wiring and had fried him. He’d have to tinker with him later.
Stomping through the water, Cure made it through the garage and to his car. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Gamer, suiting up and frantically gathering things into his racecar. Cure never really liked sharing his garage with Gamer. After all, it was HIS garage. But being the good person that he was, he allowed Gamer to keep his car here on several conditions. One being that he never bothered Cure while he was either in his office or working on his car…which were the only two things that he did in his garage to begin with. That, and Gamer was to always knock if he ever needed Cure during the nighttime hours, or any other time, for that matter. The other was that Gamer made himself useful as long as he was here. All and all, he had to admit that things certainly had been more organized ever since Gamer had been around.
Cure heard Gamer rambling on and on, which was very unusual for him, considering he was normally not annoyingly talkative. Also, he was talking to himself, and soon realized that while Gamer was packing the trunk of the car, he was using his free hand to hold a video camera.

Gamer slammed the car trunk down, and looked up seeing that Cure was watching him. Flipping the camera around, he turned it onto Cure. “Having a little trouble with Glenn?”
“He’s fried…” Cure nonchalantly explained.
“Ah I see…” Gamer said, looking away quickly.

Cure through Glenn’s body over the roof of his car and began to gather important tools and other important looking things. After grabbing everything he paused for a moment. He was forgetting something else important; something essential to survival…something that would help in any sticky situation.
“Oh of course!” Cure shuffled quickly through the water and flipped open the fridge in the other room. Before it was engulfed by water, Cure snatched two six-packs of beer in each hand and ran, or at least tried to run, back through the water once more to his car. He through the contents into the trunk and shut it.

Gamer, centered the camera on Cure. “So uh, Disco, why do you think that we’re having this massive flood?”
Cure didn’t look up at him, “I told you a thousand times damn it!” He grabbed the medallion from his neck and held it up for Gamer to see. “When I’m wearing this, I’m Cure. Get it right.”
Gamer mumbled under his breath. He didn’t really get the whole medal thing, he figured Disco was making it up too. But he accepted it. “Fine then CURE,” Gamer said sarcastically, “Why do you suppose the garage is flooding?”
Cure didn’t seem to be paying any attention really at all. He was real quiet, lost in thought almost when he seemed to suddenly realize something. “GUNS!” He shouted and he darted upstairs.
Gamer shrugged and flipped the camera back around. “I don’t think I’ll fully ever understand Disco,” he told the camera. He then hit record and the camera shut off. Didn’t want to waste all the battery…there would be a lot to film.

The door kicked in. Cure stormed through pausing briefly in the center of the room. It was a small room, but it was bright white everywhere, and the shelves lining the entire room were filled with guns. “What guns should I bring with me Glenn?” he turned around to his fateful robot companion.
He was answered with silence.
“Glenn?” he turned around. There was no one there. He had forgotten for a moment that Glenn was kaput. Very few times, did the cynic ever feel grief or regret. Not even when most his friends died, he didn’t think on it too much. But, Cure realized how much he really cared for his robotic sidekick.
His overwhelming emotion was very brief, and he quickly shook it off.
Come on Cure, this isn’t the time to get sappy. Now which guns are you going to take?
Rushing to the nearest shelf, Cure began snatching all the guns he could carry, slinging them on his back, pockets, belt, shoulders, and carrying two large ones. His pockets stuffed with mostly all the main artillery, he decided that this would do and rushed back downstairs to the first floor.

“Cure what do you think that’s causing this water?” Gamer asked again as he came down.
“The hell should I know….here take this!” He tossed Gamer a pistol.
Reaching out his hand Gamer snatched the gun, and winced when he looked at it. He whipped up a polite smile and held the pistol up. “Thanks, but uh, I think I’ll stick to my gravity gun,” he explained holding up in his other hand the barrel like handgun.
“Whatever…” Cure said coldly. “Now hurry up an…” Before he finished his sentence there was a large humming sound. It was like something huge was falling down. But it wasn’t that, this was different. Almost like a lifelike sound. Gamer and Cure both looked to their feet and saw that the water was draining. Shocked they both looked to each other.
When the water all cleared, the floor could be seen again. But, both jaws dropped a little when they saw a giant hole in the center of the garage. It was perhaps larger and wider then MB’s hut! Stepping closer, Cure looked down into the deep black darkness. “wtf barcelona??” he muttered.
“Now Disco, there really isn’t a need for that kind of talk. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t use that kind of language,” Gamer said tapping his foot impatiently and furiously.
“Its Cure damn it! CURE!”
Gamer was about to give Cure a piece of his mind, but the humming sound returned. This time from outside.
Before either could react, water smashed through the windows. It hit Gamer full force and he was flung back several feet. He splashed his head back above the water to see that Cure, several feet away had been hit too. Gamer flapped his face quickly to dry off his fur…the water was now pretty deep in the garage; chest high! Swimming to his car, Gamer kicked his feet furiously. He had to get out of here!
As he swam by, the hum sound returned and Cure’s car was flung several feet into the air. Glenn’s metallic figure could be seen zipping across the room, splashing into the water, and sink down to the depths of the garage floor. The car landing several feet away from where at stood, smashed with a thud.
Gamer couldn’t hear Cure’s shouts of taking the lord’s name in vein, or him crying out to Glenn. All time and sound stopped as Gamer’s eyes fixed on one thing. The long and massive tentacle emerging up out of the water.

Toad scurried back and forth through the hut. He was a nervous wreck. First off, MB had just ran off into what could be the worst storm Toad had ever seen in his small life, and he had left him there all alone. Secondly, he was scared by the vacant look MB had when he stared out the window, like he was lost in thought, thinking things through. It was like he knew what was going on but wouldn’t say. Now here he was stuffing all sorts of things into his small little backpack. He always had the tendency of over packing, but he figured that in this case, there was no such thing. Twirling both of his swords of aegis, he latched them tightly to his back. Then he took up his sun staff and demon bow and added those two to his load. He’d be prepared if there was any trouble at all. But then Toad started grabbing other things that he figured would be important. A laptop for one.

TG led the way, Axle, Key, and KIC close behind with Mr. T in arms. They nearly swam their way to the main office where they were greeted by Fayt, Tifa, DW, and Master all gathering the animals together. Tifa was the first to spot TG and called him over.
“TG we need to get these horses together with a wagon and get out of here”
DW now turned around. “We don’t have any time to loose, come on!” Taking him by the wrist, DW led TG into the stables.

Axle was suddenly alarmed. A shout could be heard coming next door from the barn. Malon! Making his way to the door, he quickly opened and shut it, ignoring the distressed calls of his etecoon sister Key.
It was dark. He’d need a light. Searching for something, anything, Axle swam around the barn as frantic cuccoo flew overhead. He felt foolish blindly swimming in circles and dodging head on collisions with the excited poultry.
An answer to his prayer met him as a match was struck. Fayt had followed Axle into the barn.

Fayt was a bounty hunter who had recently made her way to the ranch. Little was truly known about her but she had seemed to taken a fondness to the ranch.

*more giggle would have happened here but didn't write any*

Vlak then helped write the ending...

-------------------------------------

Marth walked through almost 5 inches of water now, scanning for something...anything...His eyes lit up. The wagon! Water raining all over, he jumped into it. It wouldn't run through this water...He jumped out again, tearing off towards the lake. Boat...Boat...Where was it...Oars! There they were! He grabbed them running back to the wagon. It was bigger then the boat and would hold more. And soon it would be afloat. He ran back into the ranch, yelling for Fox and PD.

--MB Edit into here, gathering everyone, grabbing *BLEEEEEP* and making it out to the wagon, Make sure you say, We'll head for the town square—

MB jumped onto the front of the wagon, and knew his friends were getting on. Marth ran out of the Inn, another handful of random things in his hands, he dumped then in the back, some sloshing into the water. He paused, "Where is everyone?" In the back were six people.
--Edit in again about its alright, keep going, they’ll meet us there, they know where to go, start us off on the way into the town square--
The wagon floated through the two feet or so of water, passing by houses with doors thrown open. MB and PD pushing and pulling their oars through the murky waters. They suddenly came to a stop, water splashing up. Toad leaned over the edge; "We hit something!" PD jumped out of the front and pushed the wagon hard. It jostled forward slowly. Marth jumped in after him, the water up to his chest. Feeling the wagon and pushing hard. Suddenly the front gave way and the wagon rolled forward. Something dark broke the surface on the side, exploding from the water. It didn't even have a definite shape. But it was a large shadow and was suddenly rushing the two at the rear. It formed some kind of edge and swung at PD and Marth. Both lunged sideways into the water, dodging the form. Toad launched himself off the back, his sword slamming into the back off the shadow. It roared trying to get Toad off its back. PD drew his sword out, ramming it into the creature from the front. Suddenly there were two of them. One shadow pinned, the next running for Marth. MB threw PD's oar to Axle.
--Edit in, we'll make for the temple etc, row away--
The shadow lunging for Marth met him and both rolled into the water and vanished. A moment later, both rose out of it, grappling with each other. Marth was losing quickly, being forced down. He twisted his arm out of the reach of the creature, and flipped out his knife, slamming it into the creature’s gut. This time it screeched and fell over for good. PD and Toad were still struggling with theirs. And PD finally forced down into the water with a well-marked sword stab. He got up out of breath, his sword hanging from his hand. Marth waded over, and helped up Toad from the ground. Trudging through the water they caught up with the wagon as it reached the steps of the Temple of Time. Dark figures were trying to force open the large doors. The trio splashed up the flooded steps and grabbed hold of the door, pulling hard. Suddenly there was a popping sound and then a wave of force. The wave spread in the water and took with it the wagon. "Crap!" MB yelled, running down into the water. The wagon was already too far, but a few things floated back near the group. A frying pan--edit in *BLEEEEEP*--
Suddenly as MB gathered the items, his foot felt something hard. He pushed his hand into the water and pulled out a long metal object. He turned lugging all the salvaged things with him and dashing into the Temple. --You edit in the closing of the door and lead up to the sword getting put in by PD--
PD's figure slammed the sword into the pedestal. All was silent.... And then.... A huge rumbling noise arrived. Rilla slammed into the floor, the frying pan in her hands, clattering away. The others were shook down onto the floor, things dropping all over. And then...Silence.... Marth got up warily. His eyes alert. He walked slowly to the Pedestal and saw the Sword not in it anymore. But hovering above it in a golden beam. Marth ran his hands through its slowly. He grabbed onto the Hilt of the master sword and pulled it out of the beam. --All I feel like doing for now...you can edit in light through the windows, everyone’s reaction, digging out, the ship, and arrival on windfall—

 Nintendos E3 Line up
Posted by Topgun66 - 06-3-09 00:56 - 11 comments
The awesome E3 games you wanted to hear about. These are the brand new ones that were only shown at E3!!!

New Super Mario Bros Wii!!!
http://e3.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/69610...i-Released.html
Nothing too special but I'll be getting it. It's the 6th (if you coun't Super Mario World) great Super Mario Bros game in the series. This one is special cause you can play with 4 players at once. I don't like the selection of characters though. Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad, and Blue Toad. Why not throw Wario in there? He helped in Super Mario 64x4.

Super Mario Galaxy 2!!!
http://e3.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/69610...-2-Trailer.html
Many people saw this coming. It looks more kickass then the first one. Now you can actually ride Yoshi all over again. This partnership hasn't been seen since Super Mario Sunshine.

Golden Sun DS!!!
http://e3.g4tv.com/videos/38733/Golden-Sun-DS-Trailer/
Oddly some people think this is just a re-made version of the first Golden Sun. I highly doubt it but we shall see. I wasn't paying attention til I heard the music of the game. It just sounded like Golden Sun. THen the title came down and I cried. Nintendo you always drag me back when I start to doubt you.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days!!!
http://media.ds.ign.com/media/964/964462/imgs_1.html (not any good videos)
This game has been heard of in the past but we got a pretty nice look at it now. We get to see the mysterious other 14th member of Organization 13. Some people think its Kairis nobody but then who the hell is Namine. We shall all see in good time.

Metroid Project M!!!
http://e3.g4tv.com/videos/38727/Metroid-Th...r-M-E3-Trailer/
Very Very Very unexpected. The rumors of a new Wii game with a star hero all seemed to point at Link or maybe even Star Fox. Samus snuck in on us Solid Snake style and shows her even darker dark side. It seems we finally get to hear her voice and there are 1st and 3rd person views to this game. I'm guessing this Project M is going to be rated M tongue.gif

Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside Story
http://e3.g4tv.com/videos/38736/Mario--Lui...3-2009-Trailer/
The 3rd Mario and Luigi RPG game. This one takes place inside of Bowsers stomache. It seems like you'll take control of Bowser once in awhile anf cause some chaos. Maybe you can find a way to his brain and turn him into a good guy...

Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers!!!
http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/748546/fina...ers_012909.html
Some people may have already heard info on this game. Still its a very different take on the FF style of gameplay. Most of the games battles are down with this magic hand you have. You pick up stuff and throw it at enemies or hit them with things lying around the ground. It's a really odd FF game but you'll have to see the trailer to really understand it.

Now can I be a MOD >_>

 AMBER ALERT!

Looking to get into contact with old friends from this, or related forums? Ask around here for their AIM/MSN/Yahoo/MySpace/SS Number here!

Personally, I'd like to get into contact with a lot of the people from the old AoA. Tricky, Sparky, Alex, WingedAngel. I'm sure Worrior has a couple of their new handles.

 Help! Anyone with website experience!
Posted by Axle the Beast - 02-5-09 06:35 - 18 comments
I've recently run into a problem with my website (which can be found here, if it matters,) and I was wondering if any of the people who worked on the old main site for these forums, or that just has general website experience, could help me.

I tried to get help from another experienced webmaster (Mases of Zelda Dungeon,) but unfortunately he didn't have the time.

My second thought on who could help be was BD. Wasn't he the guy that worked on the advanced codes and scripts for the site and forums? If no one can help me with the problem, maybe someone could tell me how I can contact him?

Anyway, now onto the issue itself...

My site is designed entirely with HTML. This is not a problem for me except for one factor. As you can see, I have navigational sidebars. Two, to be precise. I have a problem with them, in that I have to change them for every single page. I am seeking a way to update them on all pages at the same time.

I know frames can do this, but I know that frames are crap and cause just as many (if not more) problems as they solve.

I know it's possible. Even easy, most likely, as many sites do it and would have to do it to cut down on tons of unnecessary work.

So, can anyone help me? If you can, I would be forever grateful. I'd definitely add you to my credits page (where all contributions and due credits are noted.)
