Dueling Ring

[Ixtren Wallonis]

Rules are simple...
1.) Anything goes in the ring. (low blows, Force attacks, Ewok hostages, etc)
2.) Bring your own weapons. (no weapons are supplied in the ring, bring only what you can carry)
3.) Success is determine by posting skill. (ie. length, big words, creativity, etc, either an opponent admits when he is defeated, or in case of a deadlock, an admin will intervene and declare a winner. If a person fails to reply within 7 days of the last post, then the last one to post will be declared the winner by default by an Admin.)
4.) Do to state of the art simulators and excellent ringside medical teams, all duels are non-fatal unless otherwise stated before the match.
5.) Winners may be awarded prizes by the admins. (Prizes may be showboated in your sig)
6.) All matches are 1-on-1 affairs unless specifically stated otherwise before the match.

[Honor Harrington]

Honor Harrinton, fully armored, walked into the Dueling ring with a grin on his face.

Not that anyone can see me I suppose... Now, what have we here.

Honor's eyes swept the entire ring. It wasn't huge, perhaps twenty meters across. It was fairly plain, at least it was for today. There was no cover and no where to hide.

"This battle is definitely going to be quick and dirty," Honor muttered to himself.

He stood at his end of the ring, waiting for his opponent.

[Ixtren Wallonis]

The announcer's thundering voice reverberated across the arena amongst the ruckus applause of the crowd. "We have a wonderful event for you tonight ladies and gentlemen. In this corner..." Bright spotlights swirled over to highlight the armored visage of the Mandalorian, "...we have the Mandalorian Mangler...Honor Harrington!"

The crowds cheers soared.

"And the challenger...the Lunatic Leader of the Peace Brigade...Ixtren Wallonis!"

Ixtren stood calmly in the light. His old age must of showed, but he didn't let it affect his resolution. In all his years of life, he'd learned plenty of ways to win a fight. Clutching the pommel of his Mandalorian saber, he waited for the announcer to begin the match...

[Honor Harrington]

Honor watched his opponent, one hand on his vibroblade. The announcer began counting down.

3. Honor gripped his sword and ran through a last minute check of his armor.
2. Honor emptied his mind, focusing himself soley on the battle.
1. Honor chose an opening set of slashes.

The battle began and Honor dashed towards Ixtren, slashing upward. As blade met another blade, his helmet dashed forward, smacking Ixtren in the nose. Honor continued his attack with mindless ferocity.

A blinding flash of pain erupted into Ixtren's brain as the Mandalorian's helmet bashed into his face, breaking his nose. Ixtren couldn't really think after that, nonetheless he managed to heave his Mandalorian saber around in a wild strike. The heavy blade bite into Honor shoulder pauldron and knocked the him off balance. It bought Ixtren just enough time to clear the tears from his eyes and assume a defensive stance.

Honor felt the blade smack him to the side and the force of the impact nearly dislocated his shoulder. But his armor and held and Honor recovered from the blow. He stood, staring at his opponent for a moment before he attacked again, this time with a vertical strike.

At the last second, he diverted the blade, drawing Ixtren's blade away from his center of mass. Honor's left gauntlet, vibro-knife extended, swept toward's Ixtren's face.

But Ixtren was extra careful to guard his precious face, he wouldn't fall for that one twice. Leaning away from the blow, however, caused him to loose his balance and fall over onto his back. Yet ever the opportunist, Ixtren used his new angle to his advantage and brought his saber up with all his might, striking Honor right between the legs.

Honor saw Ixtren fall, saw the blade slicing upwards. Honor knew he had only seconds to react. He threw his blade into a defensive position, knowing that he had no chance of blocking the blow. But he needed the extra seconds.

The force of Ixtren's blow knocked Honor's vibroblade out of his hand but, by that time, Honor had activated his jet-pack.

Honor bathed Ixtren in flame before he was out of the path of Ixtren's blow. Unfortunately, the blow still landed on his foot, cracking Honor's ankle bone from the Force of the blow.

Honor grunted in pain before drawing his blaster (while still flying through the air) and firing. Laser blasts leapt towards Ixtren.

Ixtren rolled across the ground while bathed in flame. His clothes burned like a writhing fire. And then crimson bolts came crashing down at him, slamming into his body, knocking him unconscious.

Luckily the dueling arena's advanced shielding and medical technology kept him from being roasting alive and shot to death, but he lost nonetheless.

The announcer voice rang over the ring. "And the winner is...Honor Harrington!"

[Iurus]

The Sith Lord Darth Iurus stepped into the ring. He had his eyes closed, preferring instead to survey his opponent and the landscape via the Force. He sensed an untrained, yet Force-strong presence behind a powerful figure- sort of reminded the Chiss of his youth.

To prevent an optical scanning of his own abilities, Iurus wore his Sith cloak closed, with his hood up. A number of antiquated Sith amulets were visible beyond the robe, though he hardly expected them to fool any being who could touch the Force. Still, the possible benefit outweighed their ability to hinder his motions- and he could always use them as projectiles.

Keeping with his deceptive theme, he held his custom sabers as one double-edged vibroblade as though they were a leftover from his days as a Royal Guardsman. When the time came, he would reveal their true potential.

Until then, he meditated lightly, waiting for the announcement that would begin the match.

Honor walked back onto the ring once more, a triumphant winner. Across the way, a Chiss stood, eyes closed, meditating.

Don't see many of them around here Honor thought to himself.

The announcer came over the loudspeaker once more, announcing the challengers.

Honor smiled under his helmet. His opponent looked much more deadly than his last one, carrying what appeared to be a dual vibroblade.

Really don't want to tangle with that. I'm going to guess that range is my best option.

Honor put his hand on his blade, trying to mislead the mysterious challenger.

The announcer began counting down and as the battle began, Honor leapt into the air, activating his jetpack as he did so. He soared a few feet towards his opponent (flamethrower range) and up, hopefully removing him from the range of his opponent.

Honor unleashed a wall of flame on his opponent, hopefully burning him. But it's main purpose was was block Iurus' vision as Honor began firing with his blaster.

Eyes still shut, Darth Iurus didn't even realize that there were attempts to mislead him visually. He sensed Honor's intentions through the Force, and shifted his weapon to his left hand, holding his right out in front of him. At the instant the flames began spewing, he summoned a wall of wind to protect him. This wouldn't do for long, but if the flames were only meant as a distraction from a more dangerous attack- as was often the case with Mandalorian flamethrowers, given their fuel-consuming nature- it would suffice. His cloak would singe, but so be it.

As the sound of blaster bolts being fired filled the air, the Sith Lord unleashed a surge of bioelectrical force through the air. Many blaster bolts were caught in this onslaught and fell harmlessly to the ground. The lightning traveled farther, contacting Honor's armor and disabling some of its extraneous functions- functions like 360 degree vision, which may or may not become necessary.

As soon as his attack touched his opponent, Iurus somersaulted forward. With the Force as his ally, he soon found himself at eye level with the Mando and raised his weapon above his head for a vertical slash at his foe's head.

Honor felt the lighting strike his armor and shook his head as it danced over his arm, burning out a few minor systems. Thankfully, Honor remained in fighting condition. A few of his sensors had been burned out but that was irrelevant.

Especially when his enemy was leaping to meet him. His foe appeared out of the smoke and flames, preparing for a vertical strike. Honor watched the blade and lifted his beskar armored gauntlets to take the blow. The blade bounced off his armor and Honor unleashed a snap kick on his opponent, forcing him back to the floor. As he did so, Honor unleashed another barrage of laser blasts, hoping to distract the Sith Lord while he prepared another trick.

Honor readied his wrist launcher. He had recently installed a new system, a poison dart launcher and he was anxious to try it. Honor fired one dart, and it flew true, on target for Iurus' neck.

Iurus felt a prickle of danger sense, and decided to up the ante a little bit. With some concentration, he could almost certainly pluck the dart out of the air, sheathe himself in a brief shield of air, or otherwise defend himself with the Force. But the Force was a tool, not a crutch, and to continue relying on such defenses might become a vulnerability.

Ignoring the blaster bolts for the moment, letting them singe his cloak, damage his worthless amulets, and fizzle into his light armor, he snapped his two weapons apart and swung both vibroblades into a defensive maneuver. With lightsabers, he quite possibly could have trisected the dart- instead, he simply knocked it harmlessly aside. As an afterthought, Iurus grabbed the now-visible dart and hurled it at Honor using the Force.

Iurus began to advance, twirling his twin blades like the Jar'kai master that he was, avoiding blaster bolts when possible and parrying them when absolutely necessary. He was uncertain about his vibroblades' ability to stand up to the kinetic energy of a blaster bolt, and he hoped not to find the limits of his weapons today.

Honor watched in what seemed like slow-motion as his dart was cleanly knocked out of the air. As soon as Iurus touched it, he lost track was immensely surprised as the dart bounced off his armor.

By this point, Honor's jetpack was beginning to run low on the limited amount of fuel he was carrying. Honor used one last burst to give him some speed toward's Iurus before he shut it off, leaving him in a ballistic trajectory towards his opponent. Honor let vibroblades bounce of his armor and then he landed his first true blow of the duel. His foot collided with Iurus' left arm, knocking his weapon away on to the ground.

Honor came back up, vibro-knife extended, using every part of his body as weapon. One minute he was throwing a punch, the next a knee, the one after that, an elbox. He rained blows on Iurus, letting his armor absorb Iurus' blows.
