"ALL GOOD THINGS OF THIS EARTH FLOW INTO THE CITY." These are the words leading into Rapture; the main hall is a massive hub that is often bustling with activity. The Atrium connects all blocks of the city together through a network of trams and elevators, though whether or not they'll be working on any given day is anyone's bet. It's basically the town center, with a real ritzy flair. Its glass front offers a spectacular ocean view.

The Medical Pavilion is the hub for all medically related inquiries in Rapture, and is responsible for treating all illnesses and health related problems. However, ADAM's self-healing properties and the city's new VITA-CHAMBERS are slowly putting the medical clinics out of business, replacing them with facilities specialized in cosmetic procedures. Eternal Flame - Rapture's premiere funeral service - seems to be doing well.

Neptune's Bounty was the first fishery in Rapture and was used heavily by Frank Fontaine and his goons to smuggle in stock and equipment from the surface, before his death. As such, crates with the smuggler's icon (a black hand) still lie around, mostly filled with an alarming and highly-sought after amount of religious material. Generally, the Bounty still serves as the place for illegal doings in Rapture, with the Fisheries acting primarily as an operation front. The sub-docking bay can be found on the lower wharf, but is currently shut down.

Apollo Square was at one point the central area of Rapture's transportation and connection routes, though in the past year the area's severe poverty has put the tram into disuse. Branches connect to a large residential area of the city's working class citizens, the giant Artemis Suites and former mobster Frank Fontaine's Little Sister's Orphanage and Home for the Poor (known locally as Hestia).

Olympus Heights is the stomping ground of the rich and the famous. It's an area which, similar to Apollo Square, contains a central route of tram transportation. As opposed to other areas in Rapture, Olympus Heights doesn't have a bathysphere station due to its isolated and prestigious location apart from the lower class.

The Main Market is filled with numerous small stores selling all kinds of produce including meat, cheese and vegetables. It continues on Arcadia’s pleasant garden theme and is charmingly paved with cobblestones, while also leaving large grassy open spaces for relaxation. Beneath the market there are storage rooms, one of which is flooded. Aside from the produce and homemade knick-knacks being hawked by vendors, citizens can also enjoy the exquisite wines at Worleys Winery, and honey still dripping from the combs at the Silverwing Apiary.

Arcadia is the living, breathing heart of Rapture. Its lush forests and abundant plant life serving to generate life-sustaining oxygen. It is also a tranquil haven for those seeking a respite from the daily rigors of life beneath the surface. Vacationers seeking something more relaxing than the flashing lights of Fort Frolic can find peace and serenity in the lovely Waterfall Grottos, serene Tea Garden and other havens beneath the canopy.

Every society - even one at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean - needs a place to unwind. A place where adults can indulge themselves, be it a couple of drinks, shopping, trying their luck in a casino or simply having some "company." In Rapture, this place is none other than Fort Frolic. It features everything the common citizen could want; from the fine arts such as music and theater to the more salacious distractions such as strip clubs and gambling.

Point Prometheus is Rapture's industrial district. It features a natural history museum (which has recently been converted to the Big Daddy Proving Grounds, labeled with an official sign on the floor as "Armored Escort Proving Grounds"), a large public library, and multiple industrial suites. These are mostly geared at high-tech lab development and research.
