With the rising popularity of storybook wedding albums, many brides are asking me about location photo shoots on the day of the wedding.
As in my previous post we have had "on location" shoots everywhere including mums back garden, but with a reception venue like the Slieve Donard, I would have been surprised if the bride hadn't suggested a jaunt down to the beach at Newcastle. Obviously, as demonstrated below, it makes for fabulous photo opportunities if you've got the good old Norn Iron weather on your side, but many brides do say; but what if it rains? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My tips for a rainy location shoot. 1. Bring a brolly. Chances are your photographer will have one in the boot of the car (like I do!) But pack one, even a small foldy up one, into your overnight bag. It might not keep you totally dry, but it will prevent the less than attractive birds nest effect of the hair! 2. Don't be afraid to let the dress get wet/dusty. Yes, I know, I know. You don't want your dress to get ruined. Actually, on the beach there's less chance of irreversable marks ruining your good frock. Grass stains are harder to get off than sand, so have an open mind. If the dress gets damp and sandy, just wait till it drys and the sand will dust right off. You won't even feel the dress wet if you've even a small train, so don't worry! 3. To go barefoot, or to not go barefoot. The simple answer is; It's up to you. By all means loose the shoes, but if you're anything like me, and hate the feel of wet sand between your toes keep them on! Or if you're adament that you'll wear them again and don't want to risk them getting ruined, bring your wellies. Always a good photo opp! If all else fails, and the rain is torrential, leave the beach photos out. Many beachside venue, in particular the Slieve Donard, have ample opportunities for "beachy" photos without actually having to ever go onto to sand. -------------------- ![]() Lea Dickson Unbridaled Wedding Photography www.unbridaled.co.uk info@unbridaled.co.uk 028 9070 2674 078 4174 8015 |
