you liked the name mighty ducks and the pruple and teal color scheme. not to mention that there logo was from a cartoon show

Although, I can understand they might have wanted a more "mature" thing goin on now that they are free of Disney's grasp. I'm still not sure what the new logo is supposed to be, though. Is the 'D' supposed to look like a webbed foot or a beak?
