Payali rose before the sun came up. It had become habit for her to get out of bed while it was still dark, going out among the trees and just feeling the peace of nature around her. It wasn't as if she had to wake herself up to get up that early. She was not sleeping much these days to begin with, so it seemed a waste to lay there and wait for the sun to come up to begin her day.
She dressed in a short green tunic and leggings, slipping into soft doeskin boots and grabbing a pack she had put some fruit and bread into, heading out into the darkness, lit only by the moon. A light breeze was blowing but it didn't bother her, barely, stirring her long silver-white hair.
This was the perfect night. It was not completely dark, even though the moon was not shining full. During the nights of the dark of the moon, she wouldn't venture out the door of her home. She didn't like complete darkness, and although her elven vision was good enough to see, something about the dark scared her nonetheless.
Pay moved off from the secure area of the homes of the moon elves and off farther into the trees, heading for the Mafransnor Trail. She had walked this way hundreds of times and always found it brought her a sense of clarity she didn't have when she was at home, as if her mind needed the escape as much as her body did. The towering trees surrounding her brought her a tangible feeling of peace and contentment. After the dreams she had been having lately, she needed that.
All her life, she had been having bad dreams, mostly about her near-drowning as a child. But lately, her dreams had been darker and more frightening. Shapes and shadows moving through a darker blackness, pressing in on her and frightening her awake, leaving her gasping for air and in a pool of sweat. She was desperately hoping that the towering ancients could envelope her in a sense of security and bring her back to a sense of inner calm so she could return home and get a few hours of sleep.

He was not a happy man. There were times where Doryn Thakan's position as head of Queen Shyharah's Royal Guard drove him to the brink of madness. It was those days, days like this, that he was gritting his teeth in annoyance. And the sun hadn't even begun to rise! Two days ago, the Commander of the Military Forces and his good friend, De'ach An'Kai had sent seven separate patrols out on the Queen's order to the surrounding forest. The patrols had seriously cut down the number of soldiers of both the military and her royal-pain-in-the-ass's private guard.
Sleep was something he'd come to think of as a reward. It was something he rarely got and cherished as long as he had it. Over the last few weeks, the number of undead attacks on Shivalithgar and its surrounding outlands had doubled, leaving many without homes or worse. So when the Queen had sent the royal page, Velkon, to inform him that she will be taken a leisurely ride after her morning meal tomorrow that he nearly exploded. He had eight of the usual Guard soldiers left, his elite fighters. While they prepared for the Queen's departure, he was heading out to ensure the projected route of the Queen's carriage was free of all dangers.
He adjusted his forest green cloak over his chain armor and leather armor, his tunic showing the colors of Shivalithgar, his home. The crest embossed into the leather showed the crest of the Royal Guard as he spurred Anske, his warhorse, into a jump. So far, there was no signs of any movement in the area. It was something that both reassured and concerned him. The Queen was riding through the center of most of the attacks and he hadn't seen one sign of any-
A sharp crack of a stick caught his attention and he reigned Anske to a halt, slipping silently from the saddle to the ground. He guided the dapple gray warhorse to tether him to a tree out of sight and patted his side to reassure the anxious beast. Slipping into the forest, a whisper of metal being drawn against leather was the only sound as he pulled his sword from its sheath. The only other sounds around him was the careless trampling coming from directly in front of him. Silently, he slipped behind the lone figure, not willing to drop his guard at the small frame and lifted his sword, the tip pointed toward the stranger's back. If it was undead, it would take only a quick slash to take off its head. "Halt! You are trespassing on Shivalithian territory. In the name of Queen Shyharah Xiaon, I order you to turn around slowly."

Something was slightly off as she walked the trail. There were sticks and branches scattered here and there, as if someone had been carelessly pulling them from the trees. She saw no signs of anyone, however, so she kept on moving, stepping on the sticks and branches, not really caring if she made noise or not.
Payali had just crossed over the worst of the debris when she heard the voice behind her. She stopped, alright. Not because the voice ordered her to, but because no one had ever spoke to her like that before. She began turning around slowly, as he had ordered, and when she saw the sword pointed at her, she took a half step back.
"Planning on taking my head off, are we? That is not very sociable." Her eyes flicked over him quickly, taking in everything at once it seemed. She could see he was a wood elf, and a member of the Royal Guard, which would have been obvious even without the words he had spoken a mere moment before.
"I was unaware that the Queen of Shivalithgar sent her guards to patrol this part of the trail. I honestly had no idea I had crossed a boundary line that I have crossed at least a hundred times before. So, I apologize for trespassing." She began to turn around, then stopped. "I am sorry, I never introduced myself. I am Payali Trestai'n. You are?"

He watched the small figure turned around and his eyes fell on a small woman. From the point of her ears, the angle of her jaw and the softness of her cheekbones, he didn't need to see the color of her skin tone to know she was a moon elf. Even in the dark of night, his gray scale eyesight took in more features than most after years of practice. But to see a moon elf so far outside of Imizael was something that he was questioning.
He watched her, observing the movements of her body, the tensing of her muscles as he tried to decide what to do with her. That is until she spoke. For a moment, he stood still, trying to figure out what exactly gave her the idea that he was trying to be sociable. Even though this girl was elven kin, she was not supposed to be here and damned if her flippant attitude and her blatant disregard for his position didn't irk his already surly disposition.
He frowned at her as she continued to speak. It almost seemed as if this slip of a girl was insulting him. It wasn't until she was finished that he spoke. "I will only harm those who intend to harm others," he explained to her. "But I will not attack a person, especially a woman, unarmed."
He regarded her a moment longer and knew he needed to get more information out of her to decide whether she was truly friend or foe. "The recent attacks of Zeben's undead in the forest have put many on patrols. Including Her Majesty's elite." A cocky, overly arrogant smirk played over his lips ever so slightly, barely noticeable, as he lowered his sword ever so slightly. "I am High General Doryn Thakan, commanding officer of the Royal Guard. And my name has nothing to do with the fact that only a fool would venture out into the woods with the recent undead threats in the area."
He began to circle her, his movements silent despite the branches and dead leaves littering the ground. His eyes narrowed on her, sizing her up like a Conari beast would its prey. If she was hiding something, he wouldn't miss it. "Unless you are working in league with them, Imizaelian."

Payali blinked at him as he spoke, her eyebrows raising slightly at the news that there had been undead attacks in the area recently. The undead had never ventured as far as Imizael, so she had been completely unaware of this bit of news.
When he began circling her, her body stiffened, her chin came up, and her air of arrogance washed over her again. How dare he look her up and down like that? She was not some piece of meat on display for a predator's feast! She turned her head ever so slightly to keep watching him as he began to pass behind her, and then another feeling came over her.
She knew him. She knew she knew him. But how? She knew no one that was a Royal Guard, certainly not a General, and absolutely not someone who would speak to her in the manner he had. Everyone that knew her loved her. She had never had anyone speak harshly to her, and she didn't like it. But that didn't change the fact that she knew somehow that she knew him.
He spoke about her being in league with Zeben's undead and her eyes went wide and then she laughed, smothering it with her hand. She looked down, cleared her throat, and then looked back up at him. "Have you completely lost your mind, General? Do I really look like someone who would be in league with Zeben or his undead? I am taking a walk. A walk I have taken a hundred times before, maybe even five hundred times before. I walk from my home down the trail until I feel at peace, then I turn around and go home. I am not in cahoots or league or anything else with anyone, least of all Zeben. I may not be an elf of the Queen's court, but I am a respectable female, and I resent your implications." She folded her arms across her chest, and stood there, glaring at him.

She was surprised. That was something he hadn't been expecting as he observed her reactions. Although that emotion could be faked but the sencerity in her confusion couldn't be. His own brows raised as he regarded her, trying to decide whether she was dumb or perhaps ignorant. "Ah. I see you didn't know. Wonderful. I would suggest you think carefully before heading out alone in the forest," he sighed, lowering his sword to point at the ground. "There have been nurmerous attacks over the last few weeks. Villages destroyed, people have been killed several disappeared."
Part of him meant to scare her and the other only wanted to ensure she understood the dangers she was putting herself in by simply venturing too far outside the safety of Imizael. The concern he was feeling hadn't been there before and it perplexed him. He had this feeling, the nagging in the back of his mind. He tilted his head slightly, stepping forward to get a better look at her. Still, he couldn't place the reasoning. "Have we met before? Are you a merchant?"
However much he wished to know the answer, she ranted at him about his audacity. Did she really not realize he was trying to ensure the safety of his people and in some way her life as well? He opened his mouth to speak and he stopped. He held his breath and held up his hand to silence her, listening intently to the sounds of the forest. Everything had stopped. It seemed even the wind had ceased to blow and he could fell the instinct kicking in, telling him something was not right. He stepped forward and took her arm. "We must go," he told her, his voice dropping low so he could hear the surrounding forest. "Now. Do not argue with me, Imizaelian. I will escort you to your territory before resuming my patrol."

Two things happened almost simultaneously that confused her beyond all measure. First, he stepped forward and grabbed her arm, concern showing in his eyes. The second thing was that there was a sudden warm tingling in the back of her neck. Right where the tattoo that marked her was. Payali had never had such a thing happen before, and it threw her off for a moment, so that her feet actually began to move in the direction he was propelling her before she came back to herself and put the brakes on.
"Wait a minute!" she hissed at him, sure that if she spoke at a normal speaking volume, he would clap a hand over her mouth and not allow her to speak at all. "I am not letting you take me anywhere until you tell me what is going on. You cannot force me to do anything, General or no General." Her thoughts bounded back and forth, and again the knowledge that she knew him flooded through her, but she still was unable to place him. Add to that the tingling, warmth of her tattoo and the fear that was beginning to spread through her at not knowing what was about to come, and Payali was very near tears of anger, frustration and pure unadulterated fear. She had never been so confused in her life.
"Please, just tell me what it is happening and I will gladly go with you." She knew she probably didn't have time to bargain with him, but she didn't care. She had a right to know why he was suddenly holding her arm and dragging her off. "Tell me or you will have to forcibly remove me from this spot, and I won't go quietly, either."
Judging by the look on the handsome General's face, Payali was seriously playing with fire, but that moment, it didn't matter to her. She was confused, the longer he held her arm and kept her close to him, the more the sensation in her tattoo grew, and the feeling was stronger than ever that she knew him. She didn't want him to just dump her off at home and leave, because a new fear was settling in the pit of her stomach: A fear of never seeing him again.

Instinct tore through him as he was ground to a halt by the tiny scrap of a moon elf behind him. Adrenaline pumped through his veins like liquid fire and every muscle in his body tensed for battle. They were coming and he knew it, could feel it with every fiber of his being. Something was making its way haphazardly through the forest brush and it was not friendly. He had tried not to alarm the small woman but it seemed he failed to do that by the look on her face. "Bloody hell, Payali. We don't have time for this," he exclaimed, using her given name for the first time. He hoped it would get her to listen to him but he didn't have much hope of that happening. "Correction. I don't have time for this. Can you not just accept that the woods are a very dangerous play for you to be?"
He kept his voice low, trying to keep his ear on the approaching forces. It wasn't every day where the forest of Mafransnor was completely silenced. In fact, there were many days where the Shivalithian soldiers wished it would. With the normal hushed voices of every being in the Kingdom, added with the forest dwelling creatures, it was much harder to keep your ears open for trouble. But to be out in the open like this and have everything around them for as far as he could hear become silent? That was never a good thing. In fact, he was willing to bet a month's rations that this was a very, very bad day for him to scout the Queen's route alone. It wasn't that he doubted his abilities in a fight, he had every faith in his ability to wield any weapon thrown at him. After all, he was one of the Shivalithian elite fighters. But, against this unknown disturbance, his concern was sheer numbers. Especially against a horde of rotten corpses of Zeben's army.
Doryn sighed heavily and looked back at her. "Look, I've lived in this forest my entire lifetime." He tried to keep the exasperation from his voice as he spoke, his free hand still gripping the sword through the thick leather gloves. "Believe me when I say, it is very dangerous for you to be out here alone right now. It's even more dangerous for you to keep arguing with me and not move to the trail and toward the horse I have waiting there. Now, I must insist that you move... now."
The sounds of heavy, disjointed stomping was closer than he realized. From the footfalls, he counted at least six assailants, maybe more. With an annoyed growl, he sheathed his sword. "You're out of time." Before she could react, firm hands took her by the waist and tossed her over his shoulder. Despite her fighting him, he started making his way toward Anske. "There are at least six unfriendly creatures heading this way. So if you have a very large desire to join the ranks of the Undead Lord's army, by all means, keep yelling."

Two things about his speech surprised her. First, he actually callled her by name, and second, his comment about the Undead Lord's army. The latter shut her mouth tight in mid protest and a chill went through her. Now she was good and truly scared.
Payali stopped struggling and allowed him to put her on the back of his horse. She grasped the reins, expecting him to climb on the horse behind her, so she was surprised when he told her to hide herself and the horse quickly and drew his sword. Payali didn't want to leave him, but he was already angry with her, so she spurred the horse to move and moved off into the trees, in the opposite direction of the one the sounds were coming from.
When she thought she was far enough away, she stopped the horse and led it to the mouth of a small cave, where she thought they might be safe. Payali gently rubbed the side of the horse's neck and spoke softly to it, trying to reassure the animal that all would be well. That was no easy feat, considering that even she was not sure that things were going to be okay. She could hear shouts and noises of a fight in the distance, and she was scared beyond all reason that General Doryn was not going to survive. If he didn't, and if the creatures he was battling had any idea that she was there nearby, she could find herself in a world of trouble.
The tiny moon elf and the gray dapple horse sat there in the opening of the cave until the sounds of the fighting died out in the distance. Pay wasn't sure that she should do so, but she had to know if he was okay or not. She moved slowly through the trees, leading the horse a little ways from the the cave, and then tethered him loosely to a tree. Her fervent hope was that if the General was dead, and those creatures remained, even if they caught her, that the horse would be able to pull free and escape. She was sure that the rest of the Royal Guard would notice the horse coming back sans rider, and recognize him. They would surely hunt for the whereabouts of Doryn and perhaps be able to get revenge on his behalf.
She shook her head, chastising herself silently for thinking so negatively. General Doryn was strong and obviously capable, or he would not be the High General, would he? Besides, he knew she was here in the forest, and she fervently believed that he would fight to keep her safe, even though they barely knew each other. That was what he did, wasn't it?
Pay came to a small grouping of trees and brush and cautiously peeked around them, her eyes taking in the sight of blood and gore littering the trail in front of her...

When Payali stopped her struggling, Doryn could already tell he didn't have much time. Not nearly enough to get her to safety. He heaved a sigh as he approached Anske. He could see the horse was as anxious as Dor was himself and he absently patted his side. Anske was no small horse, standing quite a bit taller than his master. Anske was built for war. Doryn knew he was ready to assist no matter what they faced. This time though, Dor was going to ask his steed to take on a different mission altogether. If he was going to be face whatever was coming through the woods, he needed to know she was safely out of his way.
He assisted her onto Anske's back and held into the bridle for a moment. "Anske will take you home," he told her quietly. "When you arrive, release the reins and simply say loca'men. He is trained to return to Shivalithgar with given the command in our native tongue." He gave the briefest of smiles and looked down at Anske. "Just keep quiet and Anske here will do the rest. Now go!"
As he stepped back he smacked Anske in the rear, he saw her grab the reins and Anske shot off. Doryn turned his back to their retreat and drew his sword with one swift, smooth movement. Seeing the first of the undead emerge from the thick underbrush to the path, he raised his sword to his face, almost touching his nose and gave a silent prayer to the Gods of Old to protect him in this battle and to grant him victory against his enemies.
As the figure got closer, Dor was taken off guard by the small female wood elf. He remembered seeing her in the Shivalithian market months ago but he couldn't place a name to her face. "Dammit," he snapped. It took him no more than a few steps and he struck out with the weapon, catching the elven girl and severing her head from her body. He watched for a moment as her body fell to the ground and he couldn't help the whisper that left his lips. "I am so sorry I could not save you sooner, little one. They will pay for what they have done to you."
It wasn't simply a promise. It was a vow. As a General, he protected the Queen and the people inside the trees of Shivalithagar. But as a guardian, he should have been protecting everyone against Zeben's forces. He was born to be a protector but the fact that his own people were among the undead tore him up inside. He should have done more. That knowledge fueled him as he started forward again to engage the scourge. Easily he managed to take out the next two with one blow, the iron blade sliding through them like butter. "Two at a time. That's doable. I might have a chance here."
He actually believed that until the next wave come. Two men wielding swords not unlike his. They were Shivalithian military arms. The men he was fighting were his brethren, his friends. Gods, what he wouldn't give...
He managed to bring up the sword just in time to keep from being cleaved in two. With a curse he shoved back with his foot, blocking the second attack with the sword once again. He shoved back, knocking on of the attackers off balance before he drove his sword down through his neck. "I'm sorry, my brother," he spat out after the sickening crack of bone. He lifted his head and realized he was just too late to block the next attack. The impact reverberated through his arm and into his shoulder, sending lightning through his arm and shoulder.
What started out as Doryn's attempt to disarm the undead elf turned very back as the blade was lifted from under his. He spun, trying to avoid the blade only to feel the sharp agony that accompanied a second attack coming from behind him. He turned his head, shocked by the surprise attack and felt the warmth of his blood slide from the wound just above his hips. With a growl, he pulled himself from the sword and went into a fury.
If someone were to ask him what happened to the last two attackers, Dor would have to admit to them that he had no idea, he realized as he looked down around him. The carnage was impressive. He sheathed his sword, taking a step and nearly fell over, his body exhausted and losing blood. He pressed his hand to his side for a moment, heading off down the road toward the cavern he knew was well hidden and held a small stream of fresh water. He could clean his wound and wake himself up. He took a few more steps and stumbled, falling to his knees. This was it. He could feel it, the life force, fading as his arms gave out leaving him fallen among the remains of the undead.
The last thought High General Doryn Thakan had was about the speck of blond hair he could see through the brush. He was glad he send Payali off. At least he could say he saved one life when he joined his fellow Guardians in the Ethereal Plains.

Payali had several seconds of relief as she saw him standing amongst the dead bodies, and she was about to call out to him when she saw him go to his knees and then fall prone. She cried out and ran to him, dropping to her knees and rolling him over, wiping blood and and dirt from his face with her gloved hands. She called out to the gods and began to weep.
"Please, Doryn, please. You have to live! Don't you dare die on me!" She pulled him up onto her knees as she knelt there, placing her hands above the wound to the side of his head. Pay began to concentrate on the wound there, willing it to stop bleeding and begin to close, whispering the words to a healing incantation. She looked down and saw that the magic was working, and then glanced down at his side. That wound she was going to have to undress him to fix. "Wait here. Don't die and don't go anywhere."
She got up and ran to where she had tied up Anske, and she untied him and led him back to his Master. She held a piece of food between her fingers, slightly lower than her hip. "Come on, Anske. Get down and I will give you the food." The horse reached for it several times and then got down on his knees to reach the morsel of food. "Good horse." Payali moved quickly, rolling Doryn over toward the horse and then manuevering him around until she was able to get him up and over the horses's back. Anske, the obedient animal he was, stayed down until she stuffed a piece of her tunic against the wound in his side and then took up the reins. Then he rose from his knees and moved slowly in the direction that she led him in.
Pays got to the cave near the fresh water that she and Anske had stopped at originally, leading the horse into the cave and coaxing him back down so she could get Doryn off of his back. She took off her cloak and made a pillow of it for his head before easing him off the horse and placing his head gently on it. She began unfastening his armor, leather and chain, removing it as quickly and gently as she could and tossing it aside. When she had him stripped to the waist with only his leggings on, she took the scrap of the bottom of her tunic she had tucked against his other wound, and pulled a waterskin out of her pack, drenching the scrap with clean water and using it to wash away the blood so she could see the wound clearly enough to heal it.
When the drying and dried blood was cleaned away, she pressed the scrap against his side again, staunching the fresh blood flow and concentrating as hard as she could. She knew the wound was deeper than any she had ever healed before, and she wasn't fully confident in her ability to heal it. She took a deep breath and focussed on stopping the bleeding, since that was what was most dangerous. She felt her energy beginning to sap and she lifted her hands away, praying that it had been enough. Payali almost sobbed with relief when she saw that the wound had indeed stopped bleeding. She reached into her pack and pulled out a needle and thread that she had brought with to work on some embroidery on her cloak, instead using it to close the wound together and then she bandaged it, pressing a folded piece of her cloak's hood over the wound and then tying a long piece from the hem of her cloak around his waist to hold it in place. She covered him with his own cloak to keep him warm, and then went to go and find some small sticks dry leaves with which to make a fire.
Knowing that there were vile, evil creatures wandering iin the woods made her extra careful when she left the cave, only venturing so far before hurrying back. She had flint and steel in her pack, along with a small cooking pot and a bowl and utensil for eating, since she had planned to be gone all day by herself. She had also brought food along, although it was not much, when comparing it to the appetites of two people. But that didn't matter to her. She had to get him healthy and back on his feet again, and if that meant she was going to go without much of her own food until he was better, then so be it.. She could hunt, as could all moon elves, so she certainly was not going to starve.
Pays got a small fire going, just enough to warm up the cave a little bit, and then she sat down to take stock of what she had with her. She had a half a loaf of bread, some cheese, a large chunk of game bird, some fruit and nuts, a couple of carrots, and some honey cakes. Those she decided she would save for breakfast, because they were sweet and she liked to start her day out with a bite of something sweet. She set her little cooking pot on top of the fire and put a little bit of water in it, then broke the carrots up into pieces and threw the meat in as well, then she popped th little lid on it and began to steam heat the already cooked meat. That way if and when he woke up, he might be able to eat a little something and he would not have to know she had not eaten herself. Once it was finally steamy hot, she carefully removed the pot from the fire and set it aside, the cover still on tight to keep the heat in. She put the rest of the food back in her pack and then checked on him, finally succumbing to the need to lay down and rest herself. She laid her head on his cloak covered chest and closed her eyes, just for a moment to get her bearings.

His entire body felt heavy as he slowly came back to consciousness. Images of the battle he'd fought flashed in his mind. He'd been doing well, easily taking the blows and delivering them just as well. The first of the undead had fallen so quickly, a testament as to his training as a soldier. However, what he didn't know was how he'd ended up where he was currently. And he had just a little time to find out.
The sound of dripping water echoed in his head and he tried to sit up. Instead of the familiar revolt of his muscles and the pain of an injury, he only felt a heavy weight on his chest. With a groan, he listened to what surrounded him. "Oh gods, I'm in hell aren't I?" Surprised by the hoarse sound of his own voice, he cracked his eyes open. Pale blond hair was all he could see and confusion set in. Who - ? Did the girl, Payali, get sent to hell with him? That didn't make any sense, he realized
Blinking a few times, he tried to think back to the battle, struggling to control the surge of adrenaline that rushed through him as he thought about the woodland elves that he'd killed. They were victims of Zeben's powers. They had been forced to rise and serve the Dark Lord and his god, Mygathyn. Even in death, the slaughtered couldn't escape the cruelty. Rage had over took him and while he couldn't remember what happened, he knew he'd at least taken them down with him. Then their souls could be freed. They could finally rest in peace without the Undead Lord's influence over them.
Slowly, he tried to rest again. This time carefully observing their surroundings. He remembered this place, this cave. He and Deach had spent many days wasting time here as children. They had discovered it by chance. In one of the freak storms that plagued the forest, they had taken shelter in the only safe place they could find. Then when Barak had come to Shivalithgar, he soon joined them in their fortress of solitude. At least, the times when Barak and he hadn't been training at the Guardian Temple. That had been the moments that he knew soldified the brotherly bond between Dor and Barak.
Dor smiled until he realized the truth of the situation. If he was truly among those who walked the nether, he would never... He should his head, determined not to get his mind down that path. Slowly he tried to slide out from under Payali and it wasn't until he was free that he noticed the patchwork to his side. "That explains some," he muttered to himself, pulling back the fabric to check the wound. "Oh, that's going to leave a scar. Depressing."
He after several tries, he stood and walked to the edge of the water. Sweat beaded his brow with the effort it took for him to walk to the edge of the spring fed lake. Dropping to his knees, he let out a groan, barely able to keep from falling onto his face by catching himself on his arms. Breathing heavily, he splashed water on his face and sat back, trying to catch his breath before dizziness over took him. He laid back, surprised as how much this wound had affected him. "I'll just... rest here for a bit." It was a small whisper before he closed his eyes once again.
You can’t hide now. I am the warrior. So decide now. How they’ll remember you. Do not hide now. Act like a warrior. Show your pride now. Solidify your place in time.-----------------------

SATISFY THE UNDISCLOSED DESIRES IN YOUR HEART
Payali opened her eyes when she realized that she could no longer hear the heartbeat of the General. When she found him gone, she had a moment of panic, looking around frantically until she spied him by the pool. She got up and hurried to his side, turning him so she could see his face.
"General? General, can you hear me?" When he didn't respond, she checked his breathing and heartrate, then checked the wound in his side and was not pleased about that. "Stupid male! It's covered for a reason and it wasn't because I am squeamish." Grumbling under her breath, she proceeded to start redressing his wound. She took a deep breath and muttered under her breath at him, shaking her head as she worked.
She ended up with more of his blood on her clothes, and she sighed, Then it struck her she could wash herself and her clothes in the pool. She got up after making sure that his wound was fully covered and then went to the edge of the pool andslid into the water with a minimum of splash. She stripped off her clothes and began scrubbingat the edge of the pool, rinsing them several times as she did, finally smiling and laying them out on rocks to dry.
She then started to wash herself, closing her eyes as she ran her hands over her body. Pays dunked her head back, arching her back and letting her breasts break the surface of the water, the pert nipples hardening in the cooler air. She groaned with pleasure and then glanced at the General, laying near the pool. She shouldn't be naked like this, not in front of him. Asleep or no, it probably wasn't appropriate for her to be naked in front of him.
