WARLOCK TEMPEST DE AELURUS DOMINATES JUNE 2012 NO.1 PK
user posted image

:20 pm, June 23, 2012; a dog-eat-dog feel once again encompassed the MyRO! world as the June PK Champ ranking period drew to a close. The MyRO! No.1 PK Championship is an event wherein the top 30 rankers in the PK Ladder NPC will be able to pitch-off against one another in a series of matches. Only one will remain and be crowned as the PK Champ for every said event. New rules were implemented this month and the following rules are:

• 10 minutes time limit will be given for each round per matches. If the two contenders are still alive after the time limit, no point will be given for that round. Highest pointer for the match will be declared winner. If within the given rounds per matches both contenders got no point, the match will be decided with the use of dice event. Both players will roll the dice, the player who will get highest number will be declared winner and will proceed to the next rounds of the event.

• Once recalled inside the arena, participants are to wait for the "GO" signal before moving and attacking. Failure to do so will be an automatic 1point for the opponent. If both participants violated this rule, both will get a point.

The PK Ladder can be viewed from a resident female NPC who graciously provided us with this month’s Top 30. From those 30 players, we take the upper half of the ladder to compose the match set for the PK Championship. If a player from the top 15 is not present or is unable to compete then the lower half of the top 30 may take their slots. With that, here is the match-up for June’s PKC (hosted by GMs Pretzel and Strawberry) and a brief summary of the turn-out of each match:

Eliminations:

1 Auxillium vs Maestro NheL

After winning the first round, the sorcerer and minstrel both receive a penalty for violating the rule, Auxilium proves himself to be the better man in this match (with a score of 2-1) after crushing the minstrel with a face full of Spell Fist and a combination initiated by Vacuum Extreme and Dispell.

2 Elemental Skateboards vs o Cato o

Elemental Skateboards quickly owned the 1st round by releasing a Tetra Vortex onto the unsuspecting Sura. On the 2nd round, he wasn’t as lucky as the previous match as he tried to initiate with a White Imprison. WI missed and Cato counters with a body-breaking Extremity Fist. Cato moves to semi’s by his victory over Elemental Skateboards thanks to a speedy Body Relocation to the opponents side then connects it ith a Gate of Hell.  (2-1)

3 Parokya ni Enan vs eij Pulse

Cautious Body Relocs and Pneuma were not enough to disable the minstrel’s offenses as eij Pulse soon finds himself kissing the ground after a flurry of AV’s and Metallic Sounds combined with Tarot Cards.  eij Pulse was unable to shift the match to his favor, GM’s soon declared Parokya ni Enan as the victor. (2-0)

4 s h a o vs The Joker

Shao immeadiately disables The Joker with a Dispell and VE. He soon suffers a slow death after being crystallized with Diamond Dust. Round 2 comes and he is unable to retaliate. Shao wins with a score of 2-0.

5 Hellios vs Cato Tinio Poco

Cato Tinio Poco claims victory after Hellios casts self-buffs before the GO! signal. On the 2nd round, the sorcerer moves one tile to the north causing himself to lose another point to the minstrel. Cato Tinio Poco moves up to the semi’s with a 2-0.

6 Tempest de Aelurus vs yAm yAm 22
A ground-shaking Earth Strain in the 1st round and a water-endowed Tetra Vortex (despite yAm yAm 22’s Maya Hat) marks Tempest de Aelurus’ success in proceeding to the semi’s (2-0).

7 I Aint Noob vs Mesmes

I Aint Noob fails to abide by the rule of not moving before the GO! signal. Consequently, Mesmes gained a point. At the 2nd and 3rd bout, Mesmes fails to use his stealth to avoid the sorcerer’s flurry of AOE skills. (2-1)

8 Wolf Master Raybi vs Children of Bodom

The Warg master receives a point after Children of Bodom displaces himself by 1 cell. In the 2nd round, Wolf Master Raybi corners the Mechanic and finishes him off with a series of 11k warg strikes.

Semi-Finals

2 Parokya ni Enan vs s h a o

Shao dominates the 1st 2 rounds of their bout his chain of disables and elemental blows. Enan bounces back after a better change of strategy, being more careful in his offenses. Enan fails redeem himself further after losing a point to shao via violation of moving before the GO! signal.

3 Tempest de Aelurus vs Cato Tinio Poco

Feeling a bit luckier than usual, Tempest expels a fiery Tetra Vortex against Cato only to find it rebounding on her. Cato wins the 1st round. The 2nd round proved to be lengthy as Tempest switches to WI-Gravi mode coupled with AOE Warlock Skills such as Storm Gust and Earth Strain. Right before the 10-minute mark, she concludes Cato’s suffering with his imminent death. The shura makes a move before the GO! signal, losing a point to the warlock. Tempest gains the final point to push her up to the finals after using the similar tactics (3-1).

4 I Aint Noob vs Wolf Master Raybi

WMR’s warg immediately tears the flesh out of IAN’s countenance scoring in the 1st bout. The following series of events turn to IAN’s favor with his spell combo and disables. IAN proceeds to finals with a score of 3-1.

Finals

1 o Cato o vs s h a o

Cato greets Shao a “Happy Birthday!” and soon forfeits after 2 rounds. Shao advances to Championship.

2 Tempest de Aelurus vs I Aint Noob

IAN survives a Tetra Vortex and soon finds himself imprisoned in a white column. Tempest casts Soul Expansion on the boxed-up sorcerer, giving him the bitter-sweet pleasure of being able to return to Geffen.  They say histoy repeats itself and it does! IAN casts Energy Coat before the GO! signal. Point goes to Tempest once again. 3rd match proved itself to be of no difference as Tempest concludes this round with a dead IAN and a WI-Soul Expansion combo.

The heavens smile upon IAN’s effort in the 4th round as he manages to disable the rushing warlock and puts her to a total stop with a quick Vacuum and Diamond Dust, crystallizing her and finishing off with a combination of Poison and Earth. IAN changes tactics in the succeeding rounds. He cloaks himself but Tempest confronts him with a Fireball breaking his attempt at stealth. He soon finds himself kissing the ground after she whips him good with a series of WI-Soul Expansion, Earth Strain and a mind-numbing Chain Lightning. She concluded her victory with a Tetra Vortex in the final round (5-1).  She moves on to the Championship round against S h a o the Sorcerer

It soon came down to two contenders. Tempest de Aelurus is one of the famed authorities on being a warlock. She currently resides in the bustling Mall of Asia. Her expertise has led her to be known all around MyRO! as a force to be reckoned with in terms of PVP, WAR and WOE.

s h a o is known as a veteran in Mechanics and resides in Amatsu and Geffen. He is known as a jack of all trades as he skillfully manipulates any job he uses with mastery and precision. A regular PK Contender, he hopes to win it this time with his sorcerer.

Who will take the gold? The Queen of Magic or the Jack of All Trades?
Such a question may only be answered with their exchange of elemental fury and in-game gusto.

THE PK CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH-UP:

Tempest de Aelurus vs s h a o

Tempest earns First Blood as her sleight of hand at releasing elemental blows disables shao from claiming round 1. Shao proves himself to be the skilled player, surviving 2 consecutive Vortices from the famed Warlock. He quickly shifts his upper gear to a Maya Hat only to be faced with a victory-impeding chain of imprisonments and gravitational fields. The PK Crown shifted all the more towards Tempest’s side of the equation as she defeats Shao in the 3rd match with an Earth Strain.

Round 4 resembled all the other rounds with Tempest being the better player in their bout after she gives shao a lashing with a Comet and a Tetra Vortex. Having a little more fight in him, the sorcerer surprises the lady warlock with his skill in movements and delaying, shao scores in the 5th round. The 6th round proved itself to be the shortest amongst the most decisive of all PK matches. It had ended even before it began.  Shao casted Energy Coat before the GO signal. A violation of this rule costs him his loss of his chance at winning No.1 PK Crown.

Tempest de Aelurus proved herself to be tactical and precise. All her moves were calculated and her executions were refined. Her consistency in each of her bouts in the event rewarded her with the title of June 2012’s No. 1 PK, the PK Crown, 15 PODS and 5 Megaphones. An additional prize is that she may also get to participate in next month’s event even without ranking. Congratulations to Tempest de Aelurus!
