Guys we will not have tolarance for cheaters i will block accs with kings permission i already noticed 2 hackers MGHustle and morangus2

What I don't understand is why people would use hacks, when it's already been made easier than the 'Official' version of Mu. I also don't understand why people would use any hacks at all... I mean... it's just sad, lame and you only degrade yourself. If you need hacks to play a game, then you obviously have some self-confidence issues and you need to seek medical help. Hacks only do one thing: they get you banned!!

Heh, I wonder if they ever banned MAGIC. >_> Hacked his way to 220 to make a MG and hacked his MG up to 100+, from what I heard when I still cared about Global. This is back when there was no Atlans or anything. XD He prolly quit before they left...funny thing is on the MuHQ forums he always was acting so rightious about cheating, saying how wrong it was. XDD

Yeah but my problem is:

Banning them won't make shit, they hacks the stats and char, so they can access the database.

The solution, protect the database.

... I can't answer your question directly... But I can ask a friend of mine who used to be an Admin, who didn't appear to have many hackers target his database. I don't know if that was cos it was a relatively small and new server, or if he had protection on his database from outside intruders. However, I can ask him and find out. I'm not sure how much he'd tell me... but it's worth a try, right?

I thought of a good way to put it:

"Cheating on a private server is like being at a free all-you-can-eat buffet, but sneaking into the kitchen to steal food before they can put it out"



And I can't remember offhand, but there should be some way to protect the SQL database via the site and such...right? >_> I honestly don't know much of the technical side, to tell the truth. :/

The thing is though hackers don't hack the database that is hard to do espacialy if routers are being used because it has different ip address but what hackers do is make a program that changes the packets that are sent to the database all they do is change the hitcounter that the packet says ur doin and they change it to a bigger number to make it look like you are hitting harder and faster then you really are and thats why you get server lag around hackers because they are speeding up the packets. The only way i know how to stop it is to use anti-hack software that tells there comp the have a trojan which would be the hack software then they won't beable to play with that hack anymore because most of the time it gets deleted because the program will tell them inorder to play it has to be removed. That and i don't know if you guys incrypt your packets if not then you should start doing so or use bigger incryptions.

Oh one other thing instead of useing a windows based database use like knoppix or redhat operating systems like that don't have hack programs for them or viruses and thats what most business use because nothin of that sort existes it would be more work to get the game and stuff to play so it will work and i am not sure how that is done but i know they do if you guys new how or new someone who could that would as far as i know would put a stop to hacking but i'm still not sure if it would stop all of it because of the packet changing deal i don't know what kind a lynix operation system uses.

But it seems to me like you are talking about a 3rd party program, that is used by people who get known as "Hit Hackers". But honestly, you don't fully understand what you are talking about. People who use "Hit Hack" programs such as the one you briefly mentioned are most commonly "Script Kiddies", in that they aren't real hackers, they are merely kids who have downloaded a program and followed a guide on how to use such a program.

However, there are people who are able to, and do actually hack servers' databases. Speaking of databases I couldn't really understand a word of your second post, except that you were talking about databases and programs that don't exist. I won't get into a massive debate here, but I will simply say: if there is a Database (of any sort), there are people who will eventually try and hack it, and there are programmers who will write/code a hack targetted at these databases.

That being said, there are only a few things you can do to protect from hackers, and from being hacked. Being behind a router helps obviously, but then that causes troubles when you come to set up the MU server, as it isn't really designed to be run from behind a router. There are programs I have heard of (that my friend swears he designed :S) that scan your computer, and put up an invisible barrier. When people try and get through that barrier, (by hacking etc), it traces the IP, and sends a varied amount and type of trojans, viruses etc to the person trying to access your computer. I don't know if it actually exists, but he was sure it did exist, and that he designed it... I didn't see it with my eyes so I wouldn't know.

There are numerous programs you can use that detect and stop people trying to access your computer, or any databases on it, if you don't want them to, but if you install them, then you have to configure your computer to work around it, and your server and/or database to work through it, which could be pretty tricky.

find few hackers every where you go these days, but what to protect database, use kickordie and nprotect. we had hacking problems till we use them, i still got kickordie kicking roun don my pc. all need is to update it. as for n protect try short it out if you want king.

but if reaaly want hackers to stop give then three lifes, frist warning 34 hour ban, secoend 58 third perment ban.
