It all started in World War II when the normal citizens started discovering amazing heights of power and mystical abilities.

It was America's secret weapon and it helped lead us to victory, the heroes made their way through the 50'swhen the KKK had started killing us the supermen of the earth saying we were the spawns of Satan, we made our way through the decades until 1982.

Young heroes had used their power to vandalize and the heroes who were actually helping were being sent to jail or killed and the United Nations banned the so called super-heroes and if they ever show themselves in public it will be their last action.

Obviously a group of heroes rebelled and the nation believed in them U.N. wanted them dead. The rebellion became more and more aggressive to politicians.

Until they day came were they broke into the walls of the United Nations and slaughtered each one of them, they were now terrorist- terrorist that the people accepted...

The heroes ultimately made their own government, the one and only "Hier-Archy" lead by the mysterious Monarch who lead the rebellion. The Monarch was only seen once and the members of Hier Archy even say they have never seen him or her, and that they do not need to be seen to rule.

A way of intimidating the little people of the world, the ones without superhuman abilities-the peons, the peasants.

But when a new government comes so does new thinking, new technology to be discovered.

One member of the Hier-Archy was a scienctist in the Cold War until he discovered his powers and became the "Duke" of the Hier-Archy council.

They asked him to make them more power by creating super serums to make them live forever. Duke became so wrapped in it all he started to try cloning, robotics, trying to make the perfect human.

Duke never cared about the Hier-Archy and he knew they would find out about what he had been doing. So came the creation of Paladin a group of people to help him in his studies...

The crowds gather for the annual public council of the Hier-Archy, slowly a hovercraft came in with Duke surrounded by his Royal Guards. Duke's entrance would start the council off as the guards made way through the crowds for Duke to enter.

Arthus and Desmond scouted the area with their binoculars looking for snipers. Arthus has finished scooping his section as he yelled over to Desmond over the sound of the crowd. "Hey is it clear on that side Des?"Arthus shouted

Desmond say the sniper perched off in a balcony with it's undivided looking at Duke. Desmond hesitated and he remembered the deal.

"Hey Des do you see anything?!?"Arthus screamed again.

"No...."Desmond replies

"Ok then we're all cle---"Arthus didnt have time to finish his sentence

The sound of the bullet sent the crowd's into horror as they ran around like chicken's without heads at the sight of Duke's dead body.

"Duke!!"Arthus cried out as he ran through the crowd.

A news team had swarmed to Duke's body and the royal guards who were protecting him were no where to be seen.

"Move out of the way!"Arthus screamed pushing the news team aside but they kept swarming.

Anger and fear has taken control of Arthus's instincts as he took out his gun and a beam cut through the news team as blood sprinkle on Arthus's shaved head.

Arthus looked over his dead cold body as hatred ran through his blood. The bullet shot had been right in between the eyes and there was no blood. Swiftly an ambulance came and took away Duke's body as Arthus was on his knee's feeling like it was his fault but he knew he would be lying to himself.

Rex who was another older Royal Guard came up to Arthus and grabbed him under the arm and led him back to the hover craft.

Back at Duke's home where the guards stayed Rex was walking in circles as his trouble thoughts blocked out reality.

"Hey Rex with Duke dead aren't we suspose to return to Hier-Archy to be re-assigned" Arthus asked

"No...we are trying to get away from Hier-Archy,"Rex says as another familiar entered the room.

It was Doctor Ben Collins another person who had worked with Duke. He had assembled us all in front of a monitor.

"As you all know Duke was shot by an assassin. What you don't know it was an assassin from Hier-Archy,"The Doctor said to us all.

Somehow this didnt surprise Arthus, he somehow thought something like this would be coming.

"Rex and I have worked with Duke for many years and the reason he was going to the council meeting today was he was going to drop out of Hier-Archy and start his career full on Paladin. The Hier-Archy found out and killed him." The Doctor hesitated in his words.

His words got into a more serious and strong tone.

"Duke, Jon, and I started Paladin 10 years ago to work on superhuman technology. We brought you guys in as children to be our Royal Guards and eventually become the new generation of Heroes under Paladin Law."The doctor said before finally stopping.

The screen turned on and showed a darken face whose facial features couldnt be seen.

"I am Jon Xavius one of Duke's assitants in Paladin. You have all been chosen to be the test subject for a new generation of heroes ever seen the superhuman gene suddenly disappeared from society. You will be the world's secret guardians under the name Guardsman A.D.. A name given to you all by Duke. The world needs you guys now more then ever since the Hier-Archy's corruption" The hidden face said to them.
