The war has ended with the victory of World War II and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagisaki,
But darkness is still out there with the soldiers who have returned from the war hate crimes have roamed the streets. People who are different deserve to die in their eyes and to them the heroes are criminals and that we are all human.
"Breaking news, World War II hero Liberty Belle has been shot down on mainstreet!"
The TV turned in the Hall of Heroes as Alan Scott removed his ring and set in a brass container and look a long glance at it.
"What do you think you're doing Alan" The masked Batman said to him from behind.
"Giving up..."Alan paused to breath beforing closing the box."Do you see whats happening, we are public enemy number one to the Klan and I have a real life to start and dont want to risk anything happening to my family."
"Sometimes dressing up in odd costumes and fighting crime is a good way to get rid of stress" Batman comically said with a smirk.
Batman tried to change Alan's mind but he wouldnt force it on him, to many heroes had been or retired to be a normal citizen but Batman knew he wouldnt do that, he couldnt afford to do that. Bruce had a job to do and that was protecting Gotham.
Batman had gone to the entrance of the Hall where the media crowded around the door attempting to ask questions about Liberty Belle's death, it had been happening much like a stampede of shame taunting you on your efforts on not being able to save them.
Batman struggle his way through the crowd and enter the batmobile and drove off as a blanket of snow fell onto the city.
A car had been following him for the past 5 miles on the road to Wayne Manor, he wouldnt be able to make it in with them chasing him. Batman sped up the car as the whiteghost revealed itself.
A bullet from the rifle went right through the batmobile back windshield and cut its way through the headrest piercing Batman in the back of the head...
