I m playing metroid on my ds from MZM and I got lost after I beat Ridley! Can you tell me where to go?

back to the elevator (if you can find you way there) back up through main norfair (woo) and if you havent beaten kraid yet, go kill him. If you HAVE beaten kraid, go into brinstar and head to the area where you find Tourian entrance (It's in the same spot it was in ZM, just looks different).

I haven't beaten Kraid yet, is he hard?

About as hard as Ridley. Without the lava. BTW wasn't their an energy tank in one of the bosses rooms? How the hell are you meant to get that D:

Piece of cake. There's an energy tank in the room behind the one Ridley was in. There's some lava there but most of it is fake so you can just run over it.
If you want the energy tank in Kraid's room(it's hidden about 2 blocks beneath the door) you need to break the block open, then roll from the left ledge into the small hole. If it doesn't work you can try rolling from the door to the left ledge, then bounce into the small hole.

I highly recommend that you get at least 4 energy tanks before entering Tuorian.

Why is Mother Brain hard or just the escape part?

It's the whole area before Mother Brain that is hard. The boss isn't as hard as it is annoying.
Bring your Ice Beam and watch out for laser cheerios.
The escape part is almost easier than the one in MZM. The jumps are slower so aiming is a lot easier.
No shine spark short cut in this one though.

Tourian is really up to you on how you want to deal with it. If you want to take out every Metroid along the way, go for it. It's less likely they will gang up on you and you try to navigate through the rooms and taking out a Metroid gives you either 30 Health or 30 Missiles, both are GOOD.

Ridley? Hard? Er... Not in M1. Kraid on the other hand is a royal pain in the shinespark to take out, even with a decent amount of energy tanks.

I can almost remember using some ultra-cheap tactic against Kraid...
It's been a while since I finished it.

The easiest way of dealing with him is to let him fire his nipples and freeze them as far away from him as possible. You need to position yourself between him and his projectiles so that you can get a clear shot at his face.
I don't know if you can freeze his lowest nipple(they are nipples) so you'll have to jump over that one while attacking.
The problem is that the bastard never stands still(unlike Ridley) so he can get you caught between him and his frozen nipples if you are not careful and chances are you will lose a lot of energy because of it.

If you have lots of energy you can always try the bombing tactic.
1. Morph into ball.
2. Approach reptile.
3. Mash B and don't stop until he is dead.

Kraid is ALWAYS the 2nd boss I go for and I make sure I have 6 energy tanks with me before going in, since I know I will lose at least some of them while I bomb-blast him (It's the first trick I tried that work). Also, Screw Attack does decent damage as well if you can land on him enough times.

Once you beat him, you can grab the tank in the room for a complete refill.

No no no. You should go beat Kraid AFTER you have the energy to take him on, not before. There are 8 Energy Tanks in the game and Samus can carry a maximum of 6. The other two, if you bother to collect them, still serve as instant refills, so they are still worth collecting, IMO.

I always save the one near Samus' Brinstar starting point for last, so I can grab it on the way back from Kraid while heading up to Tourian.

Getting Screw Attack during your first trip through Norfair is important, as it serves as a one-hit one-kill weapon. This is very important in my books as it helps to keep you alive while navigating through energy-draining places like Ridley's Lair.
