I'm a big Metroid fan, probably my favorite franchise. All this time, I havn't played Super Metroid, so last week I bought it, wow it's great! This game rocks! I'm a few doors from Ridley at the moment. smilie_metroid.gif

I agree with Miles. I haven't played Super Metroid, so I wish they can make it for the GBA.

Me too. It's fun to mess around with.
I've had some great time with Super Metroid. It's almost the best VC release yet.

I would not want Super Metroid remade anyway. It's a classic on it's own and does not need to be mishandled. sad.gif

I do like the original, but just think, look at super metroid, it was an amazing game, but the graphics aren't that good; then look at what zero mission did for metroid... See my point? Unless they do mishandle it, and brighten it up too much or change the music completely...

Graphics are great in Super Metroid, I can't think of a decent way to have that same mood repeated in new graphics. Zero Mission was a different mood.
M2, dark and isolated
M3, dark and busy
MZM, bright and busy

You know what? Take out all the insides of the dang machine. I'm not paying for that anyways, I'm paying for a glossy white object with an Apple logo.
I don't care if it's completely useless.

I thought MZM was more cartoony and busy...?

My original argument still stands though. I think a remake would somehow ruin the overall feeling that only the SNES version of Super Metroid could ever properly produce. I still think of Metroid 1 and Metroid Zero Mission as two completely seperate games.

It could be ported to the DS, making using the bottom screen as some sort of general map/menu option, but with the screen size being 256 x 192 and Super Metroid being 256 x 224, some re-arranging of the game would be necessary. (Could move the health, missiles, etc. to the bottom screen, then it might just be big enough to fit the regular game into...)
