The year was 31XX, known to later historians as the Age of Retribution. Man's hand had forged a weapon in the form of the artificial being, and together with that artificial being, the heavens were leashed. But the heavens proved to be too mighty for both man and machine to reign in, and the skies rained fire for fifteen years. When The Great Burning ended, both man and machine were on the very brink of survival. It was then that a miracle emerged. From deep within the Earth's crust, a time capsule known as The Kingdom surfaced.
The Kingdom successfully held the DNA of 69% of the life on ancient Earth. The pummeled Earth was reseeded and civilization burst forth into new nations. These nations met once a year to discuss all manner of government, but ultimately answered to the King. Are you still reading this? Because I'm totally fucking with you.
Really it's the dawn of reploids, those mighty robots with amazing powers and minds capable of full expression of thought. The Kingdom is known as the sanctuary for all mechanical kind, but recently tragedy has struck. Their leader, a brilliant and controversial visionary, King IV, has been defeated. In his final act, feeling distrust for the other Royals, he declared his successor would be decided in a tournament, and no elected government official may take part. This would ensure that those on the Council of Royals could not wrestle the reigns of the country for misdeeds.

I just got off the phone with Vas. Sobou is in surgery as I write this. He was riding his bike to the Maine Mall and lost control. He went off the highway and struck his head into a wall. He's got a couple fractures in his arm, and his skull is fractured. He's in critical condition and only his family is allowed to visit right now. Vas or I will post updates as we learn more. I'm just really really really hoping he pulls through this. Please feel free to post comments and well wishes for him. When he gets home I'm sure it'll cheer him up a little. |

This is a bit annoying, but I feel it should be addressed. I know everyone has come back on their own, and I appreciate that, but I don't want the site to die before we finish what we set out to do. If the RP is getting stale, DO SOMETHING! With that said, in lieu of my usual What's Happening Now update, which hasn't really changed much aside from Vile and Miana holding Colony 2 hostage. Yes, the same Colony 2 that the Silhouette was en route to, and the same Colony 2 the Stratofortress is docked at for repairs. Anyhow, here's a bit of why things aren't moving pretty much at all. I'll be posting this in Spam, FFS respond there, not here.
VASDRIL HASN'T RP POSTED IN 10 DAYS! Tiesel was approved on the 15th and has yet to enter the RP.
Tsurugi hasn't done anything since his intro post in the Cemetery on the 16th.
Doughnut can't post with Mega Man because Crisis hasn't posted with Roll since the 18th, and Snake Man hasn't had a post since the 15th. Tatiana was passed on the 18th and has yet to be used.
Enker hasn't touched Mars and Magnus since the 6th, and has been fucking around with MM Trigger without any idea what he's doing, why he's there, or where he's going
Enigma hasn't started the RP despite asking me to hurry with his approval which was completed 5 days ago on the 21st. Tomahawk Man was passed on the 4th.
Chimeric's Ciel was passed on the 10th, and has yet to be used, along with R-Shadow. Trace hasn't posted since the 10th and is allowed to be on the Chrome Meteor, he was grounded (2 weeks i'm guessing) so that's a fair enough excuse.
Sean posted for Shadow Eye on the 21st, but hasn't started with his two humans that were approved on the 15th.
Sobou's Quick Man was passed on the 3rd, and has yet to arrive in the RP. However he's already discussed this with me.
Caprice hasn't posted since the 15th, though I'm assuming he followed Flareman back to MMBNU.
Zephit's last post with Crescent was on the 17th, where he said he was going to the moon, but has been regularly keeping up with Freeze Man.
So that's the breakdown of our deadbeat RPers. This is the list of regularly active (have posted within the past couple days and update often) members, if you're going to try to join the RP, I'd suggest trying to cross paths with one of these members:

Because of this, I'm closing down new character approval with the exception of new/returning members, and bribes. Most of our approved characters are either being neglected, or haven't been taken out of the box yet.

There's still time to get deeper into character, but they're looking a little two dimensional. Vile hardly sounds evil, Zero hardly sounds heroic, and Trigger sounds like a seven year old at Disney World riding the monorail and wanting to see Goofy so badly that his parents are wishing they left him with a babysitter and went to Cancun and get drunk, but that's how they wound up with a kid in the first place.

I just wanted to say hello and thank you for reading this, if you are in fact reading this. It's been a very long time. I've been Warcraft-free for about three weeks now, and have no intentions of returning. It's done nothing but suck up my free time and waste a pitiful amount of money that adds up over the course of the two or three years I've invested in it. With that said I've found myself with the availability to take up some of my older roles and see where things go.
Vasdril, Sobou, and I talk frequently, and while Sobou has zero interest in being anything except a troll (not the race, the internet tough guy) and Vasdril wishes to just have his name on shiny things, I would like to rebuild the site.
No promises. I can't say we'll have activity right away, and I can't say we'll have another long run like in the past. We do have ideas. Crazy ideas. Ideas that just couldn't be utilized in any other site.
So what I'd like to do, is repair all the old buttons. Replace (or recall) all the old staff. And introduce what might be the final chapter in Mega Man Crosswars. It'll probably be our last hurrah, and I want to go out with a bang. Vasdril and I have other plans as well, one of them being a Gundam related board. But for now I'd like to see what kind of interest there might be in MMC.
So the question is, what would you like? |
