Original/Canon: Canon

Codename: None

Name: Ares, Son of Zues, God of war

Nicknames: Mars, Warkhawk

Age: Several thousand years old

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Ares is the peak of physical perfection. Standing well over six feet tall, his body is packed with perfect musculature, his dark blue eyes and short cut dark hair making him an intimidating force on the battlefield.

Clothing:

Ares wears typical Olympian battle armor, which consists of a large helmet crafted from adamantine, the Greek Gods equivalent of the metal used to construct Thors might hammer Mjolnir, and crested with white horse hair. He wears a black chest plate with a skull painted on, along with spiked elbow guards, and black studded gauntlets. He also has a pair of black combat pants and military boots.

Powers:

Like all Olympian Gods, Ares posses an array of skills foreign to any normal human.

Super human strength: Ares is physically one of the strongest Olympians, rivaled only by Pluto and Poseidon, and surpassed only by Hercules, and Zeus himself. He can lift upwards of seventy tons, though no more then one hundred tons.

Super human speed and agility: Due to his Olympian musculature and physiology, Ares is far more agile and faster then even the peak human athletes.

Superhuman Stamina: As with all Olympians, Ares possesses near limitless stamina, given his body produces little to no fatigue toxin, allowing him near unlimited stamina in all activities – most notably, battle.

Superhuman durability: Ares skin is far more dense, and more resistant than any human being. He is able to withstand great impacts, temperature extremes, and even powerful energy blasts. He is even known to have gone so far as to light himself on fire during battle, only to have Hercules throw him far into enemy lines as a Kamikaze.

Magical abilities: While Ares is not as impressive as other Olympians when it comes to magic, he does have the potential for it. He can sense other gods, demons, summon weapons from Olympus, and teleport himself from earth to Olympus at will.

Ares is a master combatant, trained in almost all forms of armed and unarmed combat. He is a master tactician and marksman, and is trained in the art of torture.

He carries a variety of weapons, from blades, to knives, to Native American Tomahawks, and even machine guns, with hand crafted Hyrda Blood Bullets.

Ares also posses a special set of gauntlets crafted for him by Hephaestus on order of Zeus. Should Hercules ever go rogue, a special set of gauntlets to amplify Ares strength to enable him to match his half brothers were created. However, these black, spike studded gauntlets only work during combat situations, so it does not amplify his strength outside of battle.

Personality:

Ares, like all Greeks, suffers from the human flaw of pride. It is often his undoing, causing him to make rash decisions. However, he is a ruthless warrior, giving no quarter to his enemies, and his pride gives him the drive to never give up. He does not tolerate disrespect of the gods, be they Greek or Norse alike.

History:

Ares is the son of the Greek God Zeus, and his sister, the Goddess Hera. He was worshipped by the Greeks as a God of war, but it was known that he disliked Zeus' idea that the Olympians should die out. He tried several attempts to usurp the Olympian throne, though all were thwarted, and his hate for his half-brother Hercules increased exponentially with each attempt.

It is known that he was banished from Olympus for a time to live among humans, as he tried to raise his son Alexander as a human. However, when the Japanese God Mikaboshi overthrew the rest of his pantheon and attempted to take on the Greeks, Zeus pleaded for his son to return. However, Ares refused on the basis of pride.

But when Mikaboshi kidnapped his son in order to turn the boy into his own God of War, Ares immediately joined the fray, which turned the tide of all future battles against Mikaboshis battle, and it was he that finally defeated the Japanese Gods armies and led the Greek pantheon to victory.

However, he was still intent on having his son raised as a mortal. So he had Zeus wipe his sons memory of the events, and returned to his life as a construction worked in New Jersey, to the surprise of the other Olympians.

Team: None, yet

Code: Cool Wind

RP Sample:

Piles of dead lay before the man hefting a massive double sided battle axe. Blood dripped from the blade in the waning sun light as Greeks stormed the beaches of Troy, wading through the Trojans that the God of War himself had slain upon the landing. Days had been spent fighting to get inside of the walls, led by the warrior Achilles and backed by Zeus, who had sent his son to make Troy yield the maiden Helen.

Ares moved towards a group of Trojans, lowering his head as he swung his axe upwards into the stomach of the first unlucky Trojan, kicking the corpse off his axe as he swung it around into the shoulder blade of his next victim. It had been going like this for days, with no end in sight if they couldn't get past the mighty Trojan gates.

Ares looked towards the wall, and cried out to the men. “Archers!” A wall of Greek shields rose as Ares stood firm, a few arrows from the barrage embedding themselves in even his thick skin. But he paid them no attention, breaking them off with his battle axe as he growled, cleaving into another battle group with practiced ease and a sinister smile.

“Greeks, return to the ships!”

---------------------------- Later that night --------------------------------------------

“Greeks, for days, we have bogged ourselves down in battle after battle, and we still have yet to penetrate the walls of Troy. We lose men while they sit behind walls nigh impenetrable. But I've come up with a plan to decimate the walls of Troy. A sacrifice. A massive wooden idol, filled with our best men, left as an offering to their gods. The Olympians. Leave a group of your best men, and sail just off the coast until the next night, where the group in the horse will wait until night fall to open the gates of Troy. And then, we will dominate them through superior tactics. We are sure to win. So prepare, for the God of War shows these men why the Greeks are not to be trifled with.”

Previous RP Experience: Well, so far I've been a boy scout as Captain America, and a total villain as Juggernaut. This time, I wanted the cross between Wolverine and Thor, Ares.

I am the
God of War. He brings Death. It is the end of all things, inevitable and unavoidable. Nothing, in all the spheres of existence, can escape his gift. He offers you a conclusion, a way out, an ending to things well past their prime. And in his wake, he leaves us changed; a blank canvas ready for the new. Violent ends give way to fresh starts.

Oh, and I do realize that this is a tad premature, but I only require one more post as Captain America.
