"Hard to sneak something past you, now isn't it?" She teased him, sticking her pink tongue out at him, "There is more to it, but you don't need to know what happened exactly to me. It's not the best table conversation."
She continued eating her own meal. Though she never seemed to take large bites, or shovel her food, it did not take long for both the shrimp and the salmon to disappear from her plate. She was a fast eater when it came to food she loved. The broccoli was the next thing to disappear for her, being gone almost as soon as the fish was. This left her with just a roll which she'd put a generous amount of butter in, and her goblet of wine.
She arched an eyebrow as he placed his hand on her knee. Smirking, the dress began to alter itself. Instead of going all the way to her knees, it shrinked back away from his hand. Not a whole lot, just enough so that his hand was resting completely on skin. This of course showed more of her legs, particularly the beginnings of her outer and inner thighs. She hid her amused smile behind her goblet as she took another drink of wine.
"Plan? What makes you think I have a plan dear Parker?" She didn't bother trying to hide this amused smile, her full, cherry colored lips turned upwards and ending in pleasant points, "Where else would you like to go when we have this private place all to ourselves?"

"Nothing about tonight seems table worthy to be honest." He spoke with a subtle sigh, his hand slowly withdrawing.
Lelith seemed to be interesting enough, but something was rather strange. She was too perfect to be real, yet her she was, resting her legs on his lap. He had no reason to distrust or doubt her so far, but he knew that could easily change. Her dressed returned to it's normal state, and once more he found himself looking down at her. She was up to something, though he couldn't determine what she was playing. His eyes locked onto her own, and she spoke about the privacy of this room.
"Surely you have some sort of plan, so far everything about tonight has been by your doing." He spoke quietly, a certain bit of tease in his voice. "So, what's running through your mind?"

"Honestly? Wondering if you could change it all if you could," She replied, her face taking on a more serious expression than he'd seen so far, "If you could take away all these supervillians and superheroes, make it so the inevitable clash that ends up destroying you all never happens, would you?"
Lelith's white eyes, while pupilless, were obviously focused directly on Peter. Her lips were pursed, and she nibbled lightly on her roll. She liked rolls, but unlike the rest of her food, she never ate them fast. She wasn't sure why exactly. She just liked to nibble upon them. And this was one time where she liked to keep her hands full and her mouth busy.
"And before you ask what I mean," She stated, interrupting him before he could answer the question, "Eventually, all of these power clashes will lead to an end of the world scenario. Particularly with how evenly matched you all are. The when and how is indeterminable, but it is inevitable. The only way to stop it is to.. Well, stop it. Stop the fighting and the powers. If you had the chance, would you do that?"

"Sounds more like a dream than anything, but if it would stop the inevitable ending, I'd take away all the powers. I'd rather be plain ol' Peter Parker than Spider-Man and see thousands suffer simply because I can't save them, or some other hero can't." His voice was serious, and his gaze even conveyed it.
If he knew of a way that he could just end it all, he would snap his finger and take all the super-crime away. If super-crime no longer existed, there would be no need for superheroes. Sure, the world would still face crime, but no longer would cities be massively destroyed at the flick of a finger. Then it hit him, that would still exist, powers or no powers. Due to modern weapons, like bombs and such, people could easily cause a massive amount of damage in as little effort as possible. He turned to Lelith, and simply shook his head, lifting her into a sitting position. His food was gone, his wine glass empty, and he turned in his seat to face her. This was a serious matter, and he didn't want her to be all teasing and relaxing like this was some form of foreplay.
"No, I wouldn't stop it. Even if the powers didn't exist, the destruction would. I'd rather see the ultimate clash through, then not be able to stop a simple bank-robbery without worry of death. Though I must ask, what brought this question?" He was curious, and her question made him wonder even more of who she really was.

"Because there might be a way to stop it," She replied calmly, "All of it, including mankind's own tendency towards self destructoin."
Foreplay? That thought had caused her eyebrow to twitch up automatically, and for her to smile. If he thought this was any form of foreplay, MJ must be keeping him completely sex starved. Lelith bit down a chuckle at the thought. It would explain a bit if MJ did, but she wasn't going to go there now. Now was not the time. Now was a time for a far more focused time.
"There's obviously a catch, likely several. The first one is power," She took a sip from her wine glass, looking at him with her white eyes, "It needs power to work. The second one is consensus; which is why no villian would be able to use it."
She took another sip of her wine, regarding Peter over the rim of her glass. She'd told him the bad first. That was always important to have out front, so they at least felt less like they were being manipulated. If you held it back, it seemed more they were getting their hopes up. She was simply trying to state a truth and be as open as possible about it.

"Go on." He had to force those words out, more curious that anything at this moment.
He just sat there, staring at Lelith as she continued her little speech. He knew something was up, but for now, he'd ignore it, mainly since his Spider-Senses weren't tingling. He just remained calm for now, knowing they would go off should anything 'threaten' him in any aspect of the word. He wanted to know more about her idea, though at the same time, he couldn't imagine a world without chaos. That would almost be too perfect, and as the old saying went, 'Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.' The world needed chaos, thus it needed salvation, a check and balance system of sorts. He just looked at Lelith, wondering how long she had been contemplating this 'paradise' as he could only call it. In most cases, a paradise was always too good to be true, and was usually supported by some dark secret.

"Your thoughts are wise for one your age, but also dark, as those that have seen too much battle often are," She pursed her lips together, watching him silently for a moment.
He was right, in a sense. It was too good to be entirely true. The twist was, the dark secret would be held by no one but those that did it. And it would not be the dark secret of having to murder off others. It was the dark secret of having been willing to make a deal with a being of pure evil. There was a way to do this, but they needed to be willing to deal with someone they couldn't trust. She wondered if they'd be smart enough to figure out he wasn't playing them.
"You wouldn't need to worry about keeping secrets. The power needed is the price," She continued, looking at him with her white eyes, "The power of heroes souls will be needed. In exchange though, you all would be allowed to design the new world."

"So in order for us to design this new world of yours, you want us to offer up the souls of our fellow heroes? What's to say I won't lose my own? Also, doesn't soul sacrificies seem a little villainous to you?" He spoke quickly, his tone stating he was against it.
He didn't care if he could design a perfect world, there would always be something wrong no matter how perfect it would seem. In this case, it was the price of heroes souls. He couldn't do that, nor could he think of any true hero that would do that. He just sat there, looking at his now empty plate, and then returning his gaze to her. The longer this little meeting went on, the more suspicious Peter grew about her. What could she really be up to, and why would she offer such a thing? These were questions he wanted answered, though until he had reason to, he wouldn't get on the offensive at all. He'd just relax, and wait for a reason to turn this into a fight. If she gave him one, he'd fight as hard as he could, though sometimes, that wasn't even enough. Something told him that no matter how much he gave into a fight, he wouldn't come out of this the victor.

"No, it seems logical. Nothing in this entire universe happens without some sort of equal and opposite reaction. Every good act you have ever performed has been returned in kind by an evil act of exact magnitude," She told him seriously, "And the reverse is true as well. Even now, somewhere, an evil Spiderman, and a good Venom are clashing. It is a continuous cycle, and how the universe continues to spin on its axis. It is the simple truth of things."
Lelith had poured herself another glass of wine, and took a sip from it now. The red liquid poured gently into her mouth, as she observed Peter. He was far too distrusting at times. He seemed to be prepping himself for a fight. Lelith sighed. If he really tried to have himself a fight, she was going to have to get mean. And she did not mean just beating him to a bloody pulp. There were far easier ways for a woman to be mean to a man.
"This would be your way of choosing the evil that happened in order to better your world," She stated finally, "But I can see a problem with this already. Heroes, by definition, are willing to sacrifice themselves in betterment of what they believe in. So, by your doubts, your soul would not be accepted."

"Hey now, don't bring up different universes and timelines now. I know there is an opposite to this reality, but no need to bring that into play." He was more or less joking, but he knew the tone of his voice came off as sarcastic.
He just looked at her, and relaxed in his seat, wondering where this would exactly lead to. Would she accept his 'no' as a final answer, or would she continue with the subject until he caved? He wasn't sure about this, not even wanting to think of a world where he could decide what was right or wrong. Sure, the offer was pretty tempting, but that wasn't their goal. Heroes never wanted to dictate how humans lived, all they ever wanted was to protect them from villains and other forces of destruction. Sure, they were considered a guiding light to some, and a threat to others, but that was all. He just looked at her carefully, staring into her eyes. He wanted some motive, some sort of reason as to why this subject was even being spoke about. He couldn't help but actually think of it, and knew he'd have to mention this to at least the Cap.
"So tell me more about this deal, for arguements sake." He spoke scientifically, his curious mind slightly taking over.

"The deal is quite simple. Heroes of the world, not just you of course, will have to join together in this. Write out what it is you expect of this change," Lelith sat up, finally, looking at him in amusement, "Warp the world as you wish, but your souls will be sacrificed to power such a change. You will, of course, be allowed to see the final product."
Lelith's eyes stared at Peter, her eyelids half closed as if thinking about something else while staring at him. She was sure that eventually, all of them would do it. One day it would get too bad, no matter how hard they fought. And when they did, well... That would be an end to their problem. An end to their concerns. That was all that was being offered here. That and the stop of the inevitable destruction of themselves and others simply caused by one escalating mistake. That would be all it took.
"Whether you choose the deal now or later is irrelevant. The offer is given by immortals, for those brave enough to do so," She told him, waving a hand dismissevely, as she laid back down, "So take all the time you need to think on it. If you're done eating though, I would love to go for a walk on the beach."
