When there's no hope left, Invite only; a new start!

[Ms. Marvel]

"Count me in too Fury." Ms. Marvel made it clear as to where she would stand. As long as what she was doing was heading towards something good for the world itself, then she would no doubt be apart of it. Being an Avenger, it's been a while since she had carried that title. Now, she would do so again. Afterall, she could be a team player and someone that walks on her own. This blonde beauty was interested in the question that Wolverine had asked Fury, as well as Captain America suggesting that being at the Avenger Mansion would be best. Ms. Marvel fellt that it wasn't her place to say where the Avengers should be located. That was the Captain's choice and either way, she would be fine with it.

She had wondered though, what was Fury not telling them? There was so much that they weren't told of. So she leaned back and continued to listen to the conversation. Where she felt she needed to say something, or address something, she would do it. However, it seemed that Captain America and Wolverine were doing a good job at just that. Her glance then went to the new girl, who's name was Chetan. She looked worried, afraid, and probably wondered just what the hell she was doing there. Being the person, and the woman Ms. Marvel was, she'd have to make sure the woman was alright in a bit.

[Thor]

The God of Thunder was still not happy. One of his friends was attacked in a most cowardly manner, and now here was Nick Fury one of the people Thor trusted the least trying to tell the Avengers, His Avengers that they had to work with the government.

Thor listened to all the members as they spoke. When He spoke up.

"Tis Captain America's words that ring true in the heart of Thor. Avengers Mansion is our home and so it shall stay. I have sworn to protect Midgard and this I shall do!"

For the first time The Odinson looked at Fury with a gaze that would stop a frost giant in his tracks.

"We shall work with Shield. But the Son of Odin answers to no government!"

Thor looked around the room at the others. This registration act was definately leaving a bad taste in his mouth.

[Nick Fury]

"You sure you want to just walk away web-head?" Nick Fury asked him. "After all the times SHIELD had got you out of trouble when you needed it the most? You owe me, and you know that! So you want to leave, then go ahead, but don't expect SHIELD to always have your back when you need it again." There has been many times that Spider-Man and SHIELD had confrontations and even assisted one another many times in the past.

He was pleased to hear that She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel agreed. As well as Wolverine, who he would respond to next. "That's for me to know and only me. It's none of your concern, it isn't for any of you." he responded to Wolverine, then listened to Captain America and Thor, who had rather remain at the Avenger Mansion. If anyone, Cap was someone he respected, for what he believed in and the person he was. "Very well then Cap. Just be careful. SHIELD will be checking in on you guys to be sure of that as well." he also gave a nod to Thor to let him know. It was obvious that Thor never trusted Fury and perhaps he had that right at times. Though now, it didn't matter to Fury.

"Now, is there anymore questions?" he asked, looking around the room of some of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

[Spider-Man]

"You haven't changed a bit Fury, but fine, count me part of the team. But I'm with Cap and Thor, I'm sticking with the Avenger Mansion." There was a bit of bitterness to his tone, and he just glared at Fury.

He looked around the table, sighing as he knew he more-or-less had no choice in the matter. It was like Fury to bring up any form of debt, but after all Spider-Man did, he would have figured he was out of debt. Oh well, one couldn't argue with Fury and win, it was always a losing battle. He just leaned back in his seat, a heavy sigh being audible from him. He wanted to get out of this situation, and go fight some villain, after all, that was his calling. Surely Doctor Octopus was up to something, or Shocker, or even Rhino, someone had to be casuing some mayham somewhere. He just wanted to be in the action, wanting to do nothing more than take his frustions out on someone that deserved it, or did to an extent. He couldn't argue with Cap, and that was probably what made him cave more the this 'debt' he owed Fury.

[She-Hulk]

"Soooooo...what's next? Secret Santa drawing?" She wasn't surprised at the resentment towards Fury. Even she didn't especially like the man. But then, as a defense attorney, she had a different perspective on things. She felt the whole situation was akin to a plea bargain, because Fury was still getting what he wanted. The bigger question was, what did Fury know that he wanted this? And why did that make him want the Avengers, of all people, under SHIELD protection?

To Wolf, who had been pretty quiet aside from saying her name, she grinned. "The guys are always like this. Don't pay them any mind."

[Chetan]

One by one, they all agreed to be part of this 'team'... the only dispute being where they would stay. Wolf didn't particularly care much either way... the Stark Tower was nice, from what she'd seen of it. And from what the others were saying, the Avenger Mansion sounded rather nice as well. She was still highly confused about all that was going on, but after giving Jen a grin at her comment, she turned her gaze back to Fury. A bit more confident in her place here, even though she still hadn't the faintest idea of what that place was, she gave him a small nod. "I'm in." It wasn't like she'd argued as the web-creator had, or questioned his motives like a few of the others, but she had yet to actually state her agreement. Until now, that is.

The spider remained settled on her shoulder, almost as though watching the others in the room as well. Wolf took comfort in the presence, strength, which she knew had been the intention. A few of the men were still making her nervous... particularly the one that called himself Thor. But as powerful as they were, they didn't seem overtly hostile... at least not against anyone in this room. Wolf also knew joining their team would likely keep her on their good side. And to be perfectly honest... there had to be a reason she'd been invited, whether she knew that reason or not. She'd be a fool to turn it down so quickly.

[Captain America]

Had Nick really just said that? While he knew Peter was really just staying to support cap, Nicks words to Wolverine didn't gel with him. "Just one more question. None of our concern? Would you like to explain to me why you think that something trying to slaughter us wholesale is 'none of our concern'? You know me Nick. And if I don't get answers from you right here, right now, I'll go out and find my own. Look around at the people in this room. It was our friend that died in that limo. Our team mate, and one the greatest heroes this world has ever and will ever see. And you think that we, his friends, his brothers and sisters, don't deserve to know why something will be coming after us next? I'm sorry Nick, but you know I can't support that.

So I'm here in front of you right now. You want to be able to check on us? Then the team gets informed of everything going on in the investigation. I also want them team to be included in it. Your the worlds SHIELD? Well we're the worlds mightiest heroes. We work with you, not for you. This isn't an ultimatum. I think I speak for most of us here when I say that this is how it has to be. I'll let you mull it over."

he turned, striding over to Thor and extending a hand. "I thank you for the support Thor. We couldn't do this without you." He turned, looking to every Avenger in the room. "That goes for all of you. We are the worlds mightiest heroes. And we stand for the protection of the world above all else."
