Title: Metroid Firefox Theme (Alpha Ready)
Description: I'm making some ^_^
edthedestroyer - March 14, 2008 09:59 AM (GMT)
I was inspired to start this project by a few people and I figure some of you may enjoy it. I'm finally getting to know the coding surrounding a theme and I have most of my button prototypes done for the first one.
Here are the themes that I have in mind right now:
1. Medium button sized Metroid emblem based theme.
2. Large button sized Metroid Prime trilogy based theme.
3. Small button sized Super Metroid sprite based theme.
Here's some work.

Looks like sex. Can't wait to use the final product :D
Phazon Yoshi - March 14, 2008 05:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it looks like one of the few themes worth trying.
You sould put your skills towards a windowblinds skin next <_<

does the S-icon rotate in the theme?

I'm trying to get it to be the throbber. If not, I can make it spin the entire time.

Dear god no. Moving things on my monitor piss me off. If I'm not touching the mouse or keyboard, the screen better stay the fuck still.
edthedestroyer - March 16, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Me said me can. Will? Probably not. It's ideal for a throbber, not for a background. I agree Timmeh.
Timaster - March 16, 2008 08:20 AM (GMT)
Good.
Or else I'd have to come over there and boot your buttocks.

i take it you're not much of a game player then? ;P
Timaster - March 21, 2008 07:14 AM (GMT)
I usually touch my keyboard and mouse when I'm playing a game.
Not so much when I'm reading a webpage.
EDIT: I just realized this is kinda ironic considering my avatar, but y'know.
I AM usually bothered by animated avatars, but 3 frames isn't so bad.

what i hate is really long animated avys and having to start watching half of it just to get back to the beginning and figure out how it started...
Phazon Yoshi - March 22, 2008 11:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's annoying (partially becuase I do watch them)
THAT animation is allowed, long live carmeldansen.
M3tr0idgrl - March 25, 2008 06:54 PM (GMT)
:o is this dloadable yet??? cause id seriously would love to have this mod for firefox :D all i need now is something to replace the startup menu's boring blue background
Phazon Yoshi - March 25, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
<_<
Did anyone else fail to understand that?

I got it, but it was choppy. He/She/It wants to know if the skin is downloadable, which it isn't. Give us an update when it is, Ed, cause this looks sexy.
Dazuro - March 25, 2008 10:57 PM (GMT)
And yet her PM insists she doesn't have to type properly because "people understand anyway"... -_-
edthedestroyer - March 25, 2008 11:37 PM (GMT)
I'm still working on some graphical issues and such. I have also been distracted by a GM project that was inspired by Phun (more on that later). I may release a test run (FF Theme) soon so I can see what kind of bugs come to the surface.

i think most people would've understood it...
i did
[edit]
i came to realize that's not true because not everyone on here plays online games like me, where people blabber in almost incomprehensible english at some points...

http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/6645/screengieub5.pngThings are coming along, but it takes a long time to find and change all the little details within the browser.
s123i68 - April 1, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Very nice. Can't wait to see the finished product. Hell, I'd download it right now.
Dazuro - April 1, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Pretty hawt. Would that work on Linux too, or is it a Windows-only thing?
edthedestroyer - April 3, 2008 03:15 AM (GMT)
I don't know. I mean it should since Firefox works on Linux. The coding scheme should remain (.css , xml ,xul) across the board. I'll have to research a bit. You'll probably find out if it works pretty soon away.

RELEASE BUMP >_>;;
Here it is....

s123i68 - April 4, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
I gotta say, that is extremely sexy. I like it. Very nice job. Congrats, you've got one more Metroid Firefox Theme user!
Timaster - April 4, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
Using it right now.
HOT.
EDIT: AHHHH
The alternating strips of color in the history look bad. Fix that.
EDIT2: Your horizontal scrollbars look retarded/don't match the vertical ones.
s123i68 - April 4, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
Well, I'm not going to be as picky as Tim. Lol. Anyway, one major "glitch" I noticed was when you try to customize the toolbar, once you get done editing, you can't open up any of the Drop Down menus. File, Edit, View, History, etc. I'm not sure if this was present in normal Firefox or not though.
EDIT: Now that I look at it, yeah, you might want to fix the alternating colors in the history. Not the Drop Down History menu, to clarify, but the search bar's and URL bar's history.
Timaster - April 4, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
If I wasn't going to be picky, I'd have to settle for a less-than-perfect Firefox theme.
That's lame =P
Also, this is mainly a personal request, but could you make the background for the tabs bar a very light gray?
I want there to be a smoother transition between the darkness of the theme and the lightness of most modern pages.
Phazon Yoshi - April 5, 2008 08:29 AM (GMT)
I agree, it's a lovely theme otherwise, and if the tabs were fixed, I'd have no reason to leave it.
s123i68 - April 5, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Well, it was better than iFox, which was my browser theme for god knows how long. I'm keeping it for sure.
edthedestroyer - April 7, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you guys like it so far and yes Time I will change all of said. The reason that that stuff was not changed is because I forgot/ didn't have time to change that before the alpha. Be picky, let me know what you don't like. Some of this stuff was made when my creativity had dried up. And the glitch is a FF glitch propagated by some code I wanted to use to layer backgrounds. Thanks for the comments again.
edthedestroyer - April 12, 2008 01:31 AM (GMT)
Cursed sig limits.
Oh well new preview image.
Zurginator - April 12, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
:D :D Its....so....purtyful....
Anyways, I can't seem to get your theme to work..... :(
Edit: Hell...yes. The theme is a bit dark... but would probably be perfect with Vista...(in other words, I got it working)
Edit 2:
Ok then. Issues are circled in red.
PickynessThe help icons are squished, the show all tabs bar doesn't match, and the website icons don't blend in( though I'm not sure thats your fault)
And if possible, can you change the Mozilla icon?
edit 3: i also do not like the angularness of the address bar
Deetroid - April 14, 2008 11:24 AM (GMT)
i won't use it because it looks strange in my firefox setup.

the back-button moves a pixel when i hover on it.
it's still really pretty :>
Timaster - April 14, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
Any firefox setup that removes the google search bar is useless and must be eliminated.

ELIMINATED I SAY
brb, making chicken
Deetroid - April 15, 2008 02:48 PM (GMT)
unless i can make the google-bar open in a new tab even if i press enter it stays out.
Timaster - April 15, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
Dazuro - April 15, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
Now that, I agree with. The google bar is kinda useless since you can't open a new tab with it. :<
