Alright guys we have made a couple of good changes for the upcoming season.

Here is a spot for all GM's to post suggestions for any additional tweaks to the league. If you have something you think may benefit us please post it here.

Anyone have any more ideas? Anyone want to tweak the cap? Positions? Scoring?

Is it worth mentioning my proportional cap idea again?

I think I had proposed a 140% cap in the past, but a 135% cap would probably work too.

So, what does this mean? Instead of adding $25m to whatever the NHL cap is, we'd simply multiply the NHL cap by 1.4 (or 1.35).

This would cover us for future cap increases. Say the cap eventually rises to $120m. Our $25m buffer would only represent a 21% increase over the NHL's salary cap. Right now it is at about 36%.

With a proportional cap, our league will have more flexibility and will never get to the point where every team is handcuffed financially.

Whats the point of having a cap then if its going to be at a ridiculous amount? If you manage your team you won't have a cap issue. Just my 0.02

Actually using NHL SAL CAP X 1.4, it is pretty much the same as the $25 mil over we used this season. We can put it to vote and see where everyone stands.

The change wouldn't increase the cap. Instead, it would make the cap flexible.

If this league is around in three years, a change in the way we calculate our cap will be needed. My plan would be a proactive move in anticipation of future NHL cap increases.
