psychological description» Rowan's is concrete and kind. He is truly warm and kind-hearted, and wants to believe in the best of people. He values harmony and cooperation, and is likely to be very sensitive to other people's feelings. People value Rowan for his consideration and awareness, and his ability to bring out the best in others by his firm desire to believe the best. Rowan has a rich inner world that is not usually obvious to observers. He constantly takes in information about people and situations that is personally important to him, and stores it away.

This tremendous store of information is usually startlingly accurate, because Rowan has an exceptional memory about things that are important to his value system. It would not be uncommon for him to remember a particular facial expression or conversation in precise detail years after the event occured, if the situation made an impression on him. Rowan has a very clear idea of the way things should be, which he strives to attain. He values security and kindness, and respects traditions and laws, even with his unkind past. physical description» Rowan is a forever-young man who appears to be frozen in his prime. He's not short but he's not big either, he's just average sized. He stands at five feet, nine inches and he weighs in at one hundred and seventy-seven pounds. Rowan's man that has slight muscle mass because of his rigorous training in the Indian Martial Arts. He has a medium arm span and strong, long legs that help him combined with his strength. When it comes to facial features Rowan has a slightly wide nose, large, full lips and a slightly strong chin.

Rowan's once mocha skin is now a pale caramel color because the blood has not circulated through his body since before his change to his current vampire nature. He has small ears that stick out away from his head slightly. His jet black hair is currently short and maintainable for him. When it comes to his clothing, Rowan has a somewhat static style. Rowan is usually seen wearing blazers, button down shirts, jeans and Converse All-Stars. His clothes are usually of the dark blue, midnight blue, purple and black persuasion.

When he's at formal events with his family, Rowan is usually dressed in a white tuxedo, white shirt, white shoes with a black Fleur-de-Lis design found on the pockets of his tuxedo jacket. He also seen wearing prayer beads around his right wrist at all times and a black and silver family ring on his right hand.

history» Rowan Laurent De Ravin was born to two Cajun natives of Louisiana, Pierre De Ravin and Sophie [nee Castille] De Ravin on December 24, 1903 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The De Ravin family was happy to have Rowan as their child and they knew that he was special and destiny had something unique for him in mind. For most of the natural part of his life, he spent his time in New Orleans, embracing the rich heritage of his that decorated and ran Lousiana and all the Cajun Country. Rowan never went to school because of the racist society that he had lived in for time and he was home schooled by his parents with the little knowledge they knew. Rowan was very religious because the concept and practice of religion was very strong in his household and his family were practicing Protestants, like their Huguenot ancestors. The first bit of Rowan's life was normal.

His life didn't change until he was twenty-two. When him and his fiancee, Marie Boudreaux were on their way home from a party they approached by a strange woman. The woman, whom they didn't know was a vampire at first, had attacked Marie, and Rowan tried to help his fiancee and fight off the woman but the woman had subdued him and killed Marie. Rowan was frozen watching this woman drain his future wife of her blood and all he could do was babble in fright. The woman began to approach him and he tried getting away but she had stopped him and eventually attacked him. After being attacked the woman, whom her name was Isabella, he was turned into the very thing that attacked him, a vampire.

For the three years after his transformation, he terrorized all of Acadiana, feeding on men, woman and children and he was dubbed "Le Diable Noir", The Black Devil. One night, during a hunt for food, Rowan would be brought to his senses when he would be confronted by a vampire that had appointed herself as the protector of the town he was in at the time. Instead of the two vampires tearing each other apart, the other vampire, who revealed herself as Ilia suggested either he left or she would kill him.

Rowan then admitted to Ilia that he couldn't stop, his sire didn't stay with him and never told him about alternatives that he could take. After hearing his words, Ilia gave him mercy and he requested of him to join her and learn her way. After hearing her tempting words, Rowan had to think for awhile. Should he really go with her? Or should he continue his way of life and live in notoriety like Jack the Ripper? After thinking back on all the damage he had done and all the lives he ruined he decided to take Ilia's offer and he decided to stay with her and learn her ways.

During the years that he spent with Ilia, he followed her ways in leading what she had told him to be a 'non-murderous' lifestyle. Also, during this time period, he found himself growing faster, stronger and his senses were heightening more and more. Ilia also began to teach him a martial art from her native land of India, Kalarippayattu, which was a mixture of strikes, kicks, grappling, martial dance, and weaponry, as well as healing techniques. Rowan felt like he was becoming one with nature and he felt much stronger than he did during his childhood. During the first three years of his seventeen year rest period, Rowan found himself developing feelings for Ilia and they eventually became a couple. For the next fourteen years, Rowan and Ilia would be together until Ro thought it was time for him to leave.

After living off the radar for seventeen years and adopting a new lifestyle to live by, Rowan thought he needed redemption and needed to be born again and he decided to try and live in solitude and try to become one with nature. Ilia, who thought she had found her mate for life was outraged and begged him not to go but as much as it had hurt his heart, he had to leave. After realizing that he would never change his mind, Ilia decided to end her relationship with Rowan and she would let him go off. Rowan, saddened by his break-up with Ilia, finally left, taking a plan to China. After reaching China, Rowan decided to journey to the Himalayas, the perfect place for his solitude. Finding a little unoccupied cave, Rowan settled into it, sleeping most of the day away and going to India, where he would feed upon livestock roaming around.

After spending years in the Himalayas, Rowan became a drifter and drift his way through out Africa and Asia before settling down by himself in India, where he would stay in modern-day Bangladesh. While in India during the 1940s, Rowan, who would've been thirty-nine by this time, tried to live a normal life but nothing worked for him in Bangladesh. Rowan then began to travel the world again until 2008, when he decided to settle down in a place called Muertan.

Rowan had caught the scent of another vampire nearby as he continued on with his feast, ingesting the blood that he had needed from the deer. He feel bits of warm blood on his chalky, somewhat caramel skin. He pulled away from the now deceased animal as he heard words leave the lips of the vampire. Judging by the lightness of the voice, it was a young woman that was addressing him. He turned around to fix his now illuminating gold eyes on the source of the voice. His judgement was right, it was a young girl, a girl who had seemed to be about fifteen, maybe sixteen but he knew better.

She couldn't been well into her eighties, her ninties, maybe in her hundreds like herself. "Oh I realized it," Rowan spoke up to the seemingly young woman. "I just thought that I could get in and get out before I got myself into any trouble." He added to his previous sentence. He then listened to her next sentence and ran through his head on repeat for a moment. "There's a treaty, you know. The ancient vampires and native Americans set it up centuries ago. We're not allowed here." Rowan nodded in understandment to her words.

"That I did not know of. I will keep that in mind next time." He said to the girl. He was very calm during this moment and it was normal for him to be calm in most occasions he was in. An awefull scent began to stronger in his nostrils as he looked over his shoulder toward the direction it was coming from. The chalky, caramel vampire then looked back to the forever-young woman in front of him, his illuminating gold eyes locked on her. He then fixed his mouth to speak. "I think it would be best for us to leave now," He spoke calmly.

He was still calm even after acquiring the intell he gain just a few seconds ago. "I can smell a trio of flea bags are their way to our location now." He told her. He turned his eyes to the sun that was shining down on the town before returning to them back to vampire before him. "I don't know how long we have before they get here and that's a surefire sign that we should be heading out of here right now." He chimmed. He walked at least a foot away from his previous spot before looked back to the girl. "Do you think you can keep up with me?" He asked of her, slightly grinning playfully.

After a moment of silence, Rowan then took off, letting his feet lightly tap the ground as he glided through the rainforest, hoping the girl would be behind him, following after him.
