likes»
• Adventure. Natsumi doesn’t get bored easily, but when she finally does get bored, she wants to experience something exhilarating.
• A Challenge. Anything that tests her wits and skill is good in her book.
• Fresh blood. Maybe she was spoiled, or maybe she just doesn’t like the taste of prepackaged dinner, but she’d prefer her blood straight from the source.
• Pants. Natsumi really isn’t the type to wear a dress unless it is truly required of her. Mostly that means if James has a job for her that requires her feminine wiles.
• Wind. Sailing with James might have something to do with this, but she enjoys the wind in her hair and caressing her body. It’s almost like a lover’s touch.
• Fast motorcycles and cars. Her love of wind might have something to do with it, but when she’s on land, she’s in or on anything that goes fast.
• Rain. When sailing on the open sea, it definitely makes things interesting, just the way Natsumi likes it.
• Swords. Blame her father’s past for that one. She simply seems drawn to swords, especially old swords with a tale to tell along with it; though she’s not drawn to their usual purpose.
• Justice. She’s the type to see to it that justice is dealt to all, even if the law won’t dish it out.
• Trying new things. It sort of goes hand in hand with not wanting to get bored. But why have a life that has no foreseeable end if you can’t savor everything life has to offer?
• Leather. It has a nice feel to it, clinging to her skin.
dislikes»
• Forceful Men. She was nearly raped by one man that couldn’t take no for an answer, and now he’s dead. Just let another man try that shit with Natsumi again. See how they end up.
• Deceitful people. She can’t stand it. If a person can’t tell the truth, they can hold their tongue or lose it.
• Being bored. Having nothing to do drives Natsumi CRAZY.
• Violence. She’s had enough of it, but if required, she will resort to it.
• Revenge. Maybe revenge is sweet for others, but justice is her just dessert.
• Close Minded People. If you can’t be open to new things or ideas, you’re wasting your time trying to get involved with Natsumi.
• Stick in the mud sort of people. As much as she isn’t the party girl type, if someone causes boredom just by speaking, Natsumi will ditch them like last season's shoes.
• Wet Leather. As comfortable as leather is, wet leather is the complete opposite.
• Hot Topic Emo Wannabes. If you want to express yourself with your clothing, at least be a little more unique about it.
• Rats. Not the rodents, but people who are disloyal to those they’d sworn allegiance.
• Clingy people. If you can’t handle life without her, that’s a personal problem and not something she will stick around to help you solve.
fears»
• That even after all her work to make sure something like what happened with Sadao doesn’t happen again, that she gets attacked again and can’t do anything about it.
• Getting caught. As much as she’s never gotten caught in all her heists with James, if she was caught even once, everything would go up in flames.
• That her mother is watching over her and is disappointed.
habits»
• Biting the corner of her bottom lip when she is concentrating.
• Reacting before thinking things through entirely.
psychological description»
There were plenty of chances for Natsumi to be a wild child with justifiable reasons. After she was nearly raped by her father’s childe and lover, she could have easily rebelled against the world and no one would blame her. This was not the route Natsumi took though. Events such as the kind that might make living day to day difficult for others only fuels Natsumi. She would never allow something like that to define her. Yes, she had a few “hard knock life” moments, but that did not give her cause to be a whiny “woe is me” idiot, and those that did act like that received absolutely no sympathy from her. Some might say the events hardened Natsumi, but she merely sees it as a scenario that educated her and prepared her for what might be dished out to her throughout her seemingly endless life. There was no chance in hell that she would allow one event to repeat itself. She’d learn from it, and make damned sure it never happened again.
As much as Natsumi was always prepared for what may or may not come, she wasn’t a hard-ass all the time. She is sarcastic and witty, cracking jokes once she feels comfortable with people. She easily gets along with women, though cringes when she is surrounded by too many vain women. She’s never been the girly girl, tossing dresses aside for pants. She will wear dresses if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary, but otherwise she wears jeans or Capri pants because she’s always climbing around and rough housing and dresses simply do not coincide with that sort of activity. She doesn’t want to be hindered by what society views deem are appropriate. Yes she is a woman, but that does not automatically make her the damsel in distress that must be saved. She can handle her own.
When she’s not trying to prove herself, she can appear soft. With her slender build and unique bone structure, she seems more the type to be a model than anything else. But don’t let appearances deceive you. Natsumi is a strong willed woman who will allow no one to do her harm or get in her way of what she desires. She will stand down to no one, and only takes orders from those she trusts. It is a difficult task indeed to gain her trust, and few have found themselves in such good graces with her, but to those who attain such a position in Natsumi’s favor, they will forever have her help. She will never leave someone behind that she could assist. Call it stubbornness and ignorance, but she doesn’t believe in desertion. She will always do her best to make sure everyone is alright that was left under her watch.
If you are interested in her hand or heart, you’d best move on to the next person. Natsumi has love only for her father and mother. She has never felt love for anyone else, nor does she ever plan to. Her love to her parents, though she never knew her mother, is absolute. She will always love her father, but that does not mean that she trusts him completely. The incident with Sadao shook her trust for her father, and it hasn't returned completely. Natsumi doesn't open her heart to people very often. To do so is to prove oneself weak, and she is anything but. No man or woman, no matter how true they are, could ever hope to break the armor around Natsumi’s heart, and if they should try, they will find themselves in peril. To Natsumi, love is a trap, and anyone attempting to spring such trap on her must be in league with the wrong sort of people. Even friendship is a concept unknown to Natsumi. She understands comradery, but friendship seems an unnecessary hassle of life that she can do without.
Even so, she does enjoy the occasional gratification. She is not afraid of her desires, and has been more than willing to indulge in her sexuality. But any intimacy she may show is not permanent. It is merely her seeking pleasure and nothing more. Some may consider her a slut, but she could care less. If she wasn’t enjoying the sexual encounters, she would stop, but she makes sure those that she goes to bed with will be more than able to quench her fire. Occasionally she will go back to the same person more than once, but only if they prove themselves tempting enough to revisit. Otherwise, it is one night stands and nothing more. Anyone who expects more is left before they can get too clingy. She couldn’t hate such acts more.
skills/abilities» Natsumi kept herself in shape, and is quite nimble. This helps in her nightly tasks of thievery with James. She also has a way with technology that she picked up after spending two hundred straight years with her father. She is no master, but she can get by better than most. Besides that, she’s dabbled in more than enough skills and crafts, and is adept in a few, but not all. Boredom drives her to try new things, thus she finds what she is good at and what she isn’t quite quickly. One of her favorite skills she’s acquired out of boredom is racing. Whether it is on a motorcycle or in a car, she enjoys racings, though it doesn’t get too much practical use.

physical description» Long and slender limbs seem to be the first aspect of Natsumi's appearance that anyone notices. Standing at a decent height of 5'7" thanks to her father's influence of genes, Natsumi tends to get noticed for being taller than most Japanese girls, especially when she was fairly young. These days it seems to be less amazing to see an Asian woman of her height, but paired with her lithe yet athletic body, she's always being watched as she walks by; a fact she'd rather ignore. Keeping along with other traditional Asian aspects of appearance, Natsumi once again takes after her father in regards with her hair color. Naturally, Natsumi has elegant raven hair, but as with everything else in life, Natsumi enjoys new things, and often changes her color between various shades of red and brown. Currently her shoulder length hair is a soft caramel brown and is cut into choppy layers.
Another aspect that her father has some influence in is her style. As much as her father enjoys dressing well and fashionably, Natsumi does as well. This does not mean that you'll find her in designer gowns though. Natsumi enjoys the freedom of wearing pants and not having to worry about playing some part of being a lady. Yes she can be elegant and graceful, showing her well mannered attitude, but that doesn't mean she enjoys it. She'll do so for a job, but otherwise you'll find yourself face to face with a relatively tall Asian woman with a slender but athletic body dressed in jeans and a form fitting shirt. If you don't like it, too bad.

Father: Raiden Katsiko
Mother: Ayaka Yao (deceased)
In folklore across the world, vampires are considered the walking dead so it is easy to see how many would believe that death couldn't produce life. But with every death, the cycle continues and life blooms. This is proven true when one learns of Katsiko Natsumi, born to Katsiko Raiden and Ayaka. Raiden had been a vampire for many decades, more than history can trace tends to trace back accurately and without bias. He sired Ayaka and fell in love with her. After only two years, Ayaka was with child, much to both of their surprise, as neither believed it possible. But it was, but with a price. Ayaka ushered Natsumi into the world, and paid a high toll with her life. Raiden grieved the loss of Ayaka, but didn't let it destroy him or let it take away from the miracle that was now in his arms. From that point on Natsumi was the center of Raiden's world. All his actions from that point on seemed to be influenced by Natsumi's existence.
To nourish Natsumi's growth, Raiden fed her from his wrist. When she was only two years old, her father sired a man named Miyagi Koji. Natsumi barely remembers Koji's face, as she was so young, and Koji was only around for two years. Once he left her father, she never saw him again, and she didn't inquire about him either. Koji had really just been a fixture in Natsumi's father's life, and not much of concern to her. Only a year later, her father sired another man, Kobayashi Sadao. Sadao was only about sixteen years old, and remained youthful as Natsumi grew older. As she grew, she began to understand what Sadao was to her father, realizing that they were lovers. She didn't know why her father sought Sadao for such affection, but she didn't question it either. Her father was wise and had always proven to do the right thing. Natsumi didn't think he could do any wrong, at least until she turned eighteen.
Still very young for a vampire, Natsumi was still learning. She was not as strong as her father, but she didn't worry about that. What would she need strength for when her father provided everything for her, including her protection. One day though, while her father was away, Natsumi was left in Sadao's protection. Natsumi had never paid him any mind, even though he'd been part of her life for the past thirteen years, but apparently he'd kept an eye on her. On this particular day, they'd gone to a nearby village to feed. It had been like any other day, and Natsumi had taken her fill from what Sadao had brought her. Afterwards, they'd found a clearing with sakura trees dancing, and Natsumi was happy to just stay there for awhile. As she watched the petals dance in the wind and float to the ground, Sadao made his move. He wanted her, and he'd try to have her. Natsumi cried out, shocked by what was happening. Her father had trusted her with Sadao, and he was attacking her. He pulled at her kimono, the fabric being forced off her shoulder, her porcelain skin bared to him. She fought against him, but she wasn't as strong as him. She thought he was going to win, he was going to get what he wanted, and there was nothing she could do about it.
But something snapped in her, and she found herself biting into Sadao's neck. She held tight, not letting him go as she drained him to the point that he was weakened and she could get away. Once that moment came, she was out of his grasp and in the air, calling to her father through their telepathic link. It wasn't long before she was in his arms, crying against his chest. She sobbed out an explanation of what happened, and she could feel her father's anger. He took her back to their home and had her wait for him there. She knew where he was going. She knew what her father did for a living, she wasn't naive, and she knew that he would have no qualms ending Sadao's life after what he had done to her. She found herself revolted by the idea of Sadao, and disgusted that the taste of his blood still lingered in her mouth. As she sat there, her mind roiled against the thoughts of Sadao, thinking that she had lived with this horrible monster for thirteen years, that her father had trusted him. And that is when it began; when Natsumi no longer trusted her father unconditionally. He was no longer without fault, and the pedestal that she had held him upon for all this time shattered.
From that point on, Natsumi pulled away from her father, learning to be more self-sufficient. He wouldn't let her pull too far though. After the incident with Sadao, he fretted over her, and became overly protective. Natsumi didn't want his protection though. His last protection had failed so miserably, that she figured she needed to protect herself. So while her father was away for various reasons, Natsumi would meet with Jado Sensei to learn to fight. She didn't enjoy the thought of violence, but Jado Sensei explained that it was a necessary evil. She worked hard to learn all that Jado Sensei had to offer her. She learned swordsmanship, hand to hand, knife work and staves. She was best with hand to hand and swords. She figured the swords were because of her father who always seemed to have a sword and practicing with it. But she didn't want a tie to her father like that, so she used swords as little as possible.
For years she trained herself, not only in fighting, but anything she could get her hands on. She enjoyed learning a new skill, and found herself learning anything from mundane cooking to physics, and beyond. She didn't really take much notice of the passing of time or what was going on around her. It wasn't until 1889 that it finally sank in that things were stirring in Japan. The stability that had been all that Natsumi had known in Japan was disappearing. Something was on the move, and her father seemed well aware of it as well. Because of this, he moved them from their mountain home to Tokyo. There she met her first foreigner. This man told her stories about another country, where he was from, and with each story he told, she became more and more drawn to this new place known as America. It wasn't long before she was planning her trip to America, much to her father's dismay. As much as he fought her idea, trying to convince her that she shouldn't go, she won in the end and found herself on a ship sailing across the sea towards her new life away from her father.
Soaking in America as quickly as she could, she found it easy to pick up the language and was speaking fluently within her first couple years in America. But as she eagerly took everything in, she didn't take it slow, and after only ten years in America, she was bored and looking for her next adventure. While in New York, she found herself at the docks, watching the ships. It didn't take long for the cogs in her mind to begin turning as she thought of a way to gain her new adventure. She would stowaway onto one of these ships and see where it would take her. Making her way through to the ships was no easy task, but she made it and found herself near a boat known as the Acacia. It seemed like a fine enough choice as any, so she quickly looked for a way upon the ship and hid in the cargo hold. She thought she'd done a fine enough job of hiding as she felt the ship leave the dock and head to sea, but it wasn't long before she was found, by the captain no less. His name was Seaton Alcott and he was not pleased to find a stowaway. After a bit of interrogation, Natsumi explained why she'd stowed away on his ship, stating that she was just looking for her next adventure. Apparently that had been the right thing to say as Seaton allowed her to stay as long as she worked.
Working on the Acacia was exciting, and with each new dock they came to, she found something interesting. It was because of this that she fell in love with her life at sea. No matter how long she was on the ship, she never got bored, always finding something new before boredom could rear its ugly head. As she stayed with Seaton, she learned more about him, and eventually found out a truth about him that would once again change her. She learned that he was a thief, a profession that excited Natsumi, much to her surprise. It didn't take long to convince him to let her work with him not only on the ship, but during the various heists he went on. He trained her, making sure that she wouldn't hold him back, and she soaked it all in as if she was dying of thirst. From that point on, she had a bit of a double life. She'd work on the ships, doing anything that needed to get done, no matter the task. She'd cover for anyone that was sick, taking on any of the jobs from engineering to entertainment.
Natsumi became fairly close to Seaton, though she found that his real name was James. Of all the people she knew, she trusted him the most, more than even her own father. She had to trust him in order to be successful at the jobs they worked. He became the only man that she trusted since the incident with Sadao; though only as a comrade-in-arms. She continued her life with James, and stayed with his company as he went to scout out Muertan as a new additional location. She would help him with this, and see what Muertan had to offer, not only the company but herself as well.
