How do you think they'd react?

Its really hard to decide. People automatically think Link would go into blind rage, which may happen.

Most people wouldn't expect Zelda to snap, but it'd be really heartbreaking if she did. (well, it'd be the same with Link)

Zelda would probably quit being a princess if she did snap. Probably get herself thrown out of Hyrule. *shrugs* I certainly do not know.

I often think that if Link were to die (*sniffles* Nuuu!) Zelda would try to swallow the pain, and bury herself in her work. She'd become mean, and pretty cold...and be very heartbroken. Some days she's be able to get by, and then there would be lonely nights when she would remember Link and just cry. =( Poor little thing. Its quite a depressing thought.

...And I think thats all I have to say.

Maybe instead of snapping, if Zelda were to die, Link myght become some kind of hermit living off in the mountains somewhere, or single-handedly defend the boarders of Hyrule until he became to old to lift a sword. Either way, Link would be kinda dead inside, and would only stay out of a sense of duty

Oh, that's really sad But I agree, I can see that happening too. Link the wise, a hermit up in the forest that young people go to for advice/wisdom/swordtraining. Poor Link!!! *huggles him*

Maybe he's mope around and grow fat? Sorry. I just had a vision of him looking like Talon and grabbing chickens.

I don't know if Link would go into a crazy rage, but it'd be depressing for him. It's like: "I failed her and all of Hyrule." That would mean that the world would end, right?

Zelda would feel like it was all her fault. "Why did I put him in harms way after everything he's done for me?"

That's actually a hard question.

But all this speculating on what Link and Zelda would do if the other died has got me all inspired and stuff! I want to write what happens, damnit! But I won't be able to write anything until after November ^-^;; *points a link in sig*

I guess they were gonna be REALLY depressed.

And Link would gonna seek in the whole land for a RED FAIRY to heal Zelda. xD

Yay for fairies! They fix everything (can you imagine the looks on the boss's faces if they killed Link and he just came back to life )

Anyway, I agree with most of you guys - I think Link would get rather depressed, and probably kill himself in some heroic way (he couldn't see the point of fighting and living anymore without her).

Zelda is a bit tougher to figure out. Depending if she lost Impa or other people she cared about, I think she'd pull through eventually, but she'd never really get over his loss.

Well, not so much 'kill' himself, but go off into a battle and do something stupid. I can see him doing that in his depressed state after losing his beloved Zelda.

I can actually imagine Link doing that. He would probably do something like that to forget everything. Kind of like how Sano (Rurouni Kenshin) became a fighter for hire to forget everything that happened with the Sekiho Army.

Zelda's harder to figure out though... I would immediately assume that she would resume her duties as a princess... since that is sort of a busy position--poor girl. What would be cool, though, is that if she took Link's place. 8D (Though that's probably impossible... again with the whole princess business coming in.)

See, I'm not the only one that sees Link dying a heroic/suicidal death (that's not really a good thing, but hey!)

So I think we agree that Link would get really depressed, and Zelda would probably hurt forever, but eventually move on. For Zelda, I suppose it depends on the circumstances of death, and whether or not anyone else died too (like Impa or something).

Or, if we disagree, we can just keep a stock of fairies nearby to revive them the instant one of them dies, and so save them both from heartbreak

Actually, I could see Zelda resuming her duties during the day, and then become DeathWish!Zelda at night, perhaps taking on her Sheik guise again, fighting evils in the hope that one of them would kill her.

Realistically though, Zelda has always put her people before herself, so if Link were to die, she'd probably keep on being the ruler of Hyrule, only she'd be dead inside

I definitiely think Zelda would be heartbroken over Link's death, but she'd still do her duties as Princess. It'd be a "Link wouldn't want me to kill myself" kind of thing, ya know?

Yeah, I agree. But, I don't think that would work on Link. He'd probably get very depressed, even though Zelda wouldn't want him too.
