Zelink vs Link/instert name *SPOLIERS*

Yes...I agree with everything you stated about true love and IMO intimacy fits perfect in a loving relationship like that. Intimacy and carnal lust are two different things and I get the feeling that you think its one and the same and IMO its not. I still don't see how me believing in a well accepted cultural norm makes me out to be this hypothetical pervert that treats women badly. To me intimacy is part of the equation in the love you are talking about but I agree with you that it should not be the main focus.

I completely disagree with the statement that Miyamoto would be disappointed with yaoi/yuri/whatever else art. The LoZ series has been famed for it's ambiguity as far as whom the players should or should not ship - Miyamoto deliberately engineered the series in this way. This is part of the reason why it has attracted so many millions of people for over two decades. People like to play with possibilities in their heads, and discuss these possibilities with other people. Otherwise, we wouldn't be having these discussions.

Indeed they do like it when we fight, but... Yaoi/yuri comes even when it's clear the guy loves the girl to death and vice-versa. Most often than not it's really about ''zomg hot''. Plus, I don't see anything hinting a ''you know, it could happen...'' between say Link and Dark Link the same way it happens with Link and (insert girl here).

But, I do agree that they do EVERYTHING to create fan wars.

I even believe Link will -never- be clearly hooked up with anyone, Zelda included, in the upcoming games. *Though we did see clear sparks on older 2D games if I'm not mistaking*

To me the measuring stick is AOL the most Zelink & TP the least Zelink and everything else in between. But I agree with Love of Zelda that the Zelda series was engineered in a way to have these debates/discussions.

That doesn't change my opinion about Dark Link. A shadow formed from every bad thing Link was supposed to have. You ~can~ work on lust as one of those things Link missed when he skipped 7 years of his life, but I sincerely don't think it'll turn regular Link on. And I don't think Darky will start acting like a fangirl around Link either (because in a lot of DLxL art I've stumbled on, Dark Link is strangely joyful and hyper to the point of being girly 0_o )
As for turning Zelda on... you'll have to convince me, but I do believe it's not impossible.
After all, it's still, somehow, Link.

Is it stated as a fact in the games that Link is not gay? Not that I think he is or anything, but I don't think you can go around stating that as if it's a canon-based fact. I think the thing so many people love about the character Link is that he is given no voice and virtually no personality. You ARE Link, and the game creators made it this way to enable us to use our imaginations and project our own ideas about his personality onto his character. Link is a product of our individual fantasies.

So, in my opinion, Link can be anyone the individual player chooses him to be, and if that so happens to be a homosexual, so be it. (The guy DOES wear tights and a skirt, after all, haha ) Just because that's not the way you view him doesn't mean that others have no right to view him as they please. And it definitely doesn't make them "stupid" or "immature."

Strangely, I find Link X Peach to be cute, but Zelda X Marth to be unattractive.
Anyway, it's just what's cute and what's not, I'll never debate for a SSB-made couple's favor. There's nothing to debate about.



It is agreed that although Link has some personality trait we can all agree on (ex. selflessness), it IS always suggested we give him the voice we want.
That's why there's so much chaos inside the fanbase.
In the games it's never suggested he loves guys, but they had that (annoying, or is it?) habit of making his view of women rather unclear too. :/ Thus why some say he likes Zelda, a lot (eh, who would've guessed?) and others say he's just doing his duty and doesn't feel anything, ANYTHING for her. (I'm not one of them).

I DON'T believe we can make him -anything- we want and give valuable arguments for it, but a lot of fanbased OoT Links can still be different without going out-of-character. You can't do that with Harry Potter.

Except please, I'm hella tired of the skirt joke. F***ing tired actually. Even more when it's about how it's linked to his manliness or lack of it. It doesn't even remotely look to what the women in his world wear. Oh, the women of OUR world? OUR time? They dress like the men of older times. I don't think I want to be called a lesbian because the tunics I wear are shorter than what women were supposed to wear. Or because I don't wear long dresses that entirely hide my legs. I don't find it funny to say Link is (or could be) gay because our fashion-sense looks like his, when our fashion sense will look horribly manly and provocative to our ancestors. Given, it's a FANTASY medieval world, we still can't just give him a plumber suit.
