True...ShadxZelda won't happen. Its just a crack pairing that I like. I would hope TP Link could hook up with Zelda somehow even if it were just as an ornamental trophy/love slave. tongue.gif

I don't see why Shad/Zelda couldn't happen. You know she probably knighted him or something at the end of TP. I'm not saying I like the pairing or anything (I don't think he's attractive enough, and he's kind of boring), but I agree that they are probably on the same level intellectually. I think it's more realistic than Link/Zelda, which I hate to admit.

But we all know what would be the most realistic: for Zelda to marry a prince or a nobleman for the benefit of Hyrule. That's what royalty does.

As for the next Zelda game, it's in the making, but no reliable information has been released about it. I've been keeping up with it.

Oh, Link dating Ruto is possible, but mating... can't wrap my head around it.
Zoras lay eggs.
Some illogical details I can't quite accept. (Although OoT as a whole will make my brain implode if I even think about the time travelling for example.. So I must learn to put logic aside in this case.)

MalonsLover: Shy guy getting the girl; indeed a rare sight. But not in fairy tales. 20.gif
Well, since he has the Triforce of courage, we can always hope he also has the balls to step forward once he discovers his true feelings for Zelda.
Or insert the name of another girl he might love. But since this is a ZeLink forum I'll stick to Zelda. smile.gif

I still don't know how Shad got to be so popular.
Unfortunately in TP I do think that the only ''chance'' Link has to get with Zelda is because they're both main characters. Apart from their mutual respect (and frankly, Link's awe when he saw her) they'll need actual real time together to decide whether or not they can jeopardize Zelda's royalty for their love.
At least in OoT we have the official art, which proposes Link and Zelda, as kids, did spend some time knowing each other between each quest (I guess).
That and Sheik actually fighting alongside Link sometime during the adult era.
Never happened in the game, but suggested through the official art, which is present not only to advertise a game, but to set a general mood to the game too.
In my opinion.

His chances with Midna... She's gone. It hurts, but he's Link, he'll live.
Loved Midna, but don't bring her back. It'll kinda cancel TP's ending for me. Kill the drama. Laugh at the sad face I made when she left.
I had to let that out. wink.gif
Insinuating there will be a sequel to TP.

Otherwise, a new game with a set à la Minish Cap (Link and Zelda starting off as childhood friends) would be adorable! Love MC Zelda! But she'll need more screentime.
And that's another story.

*Sigh* They're not even sure if they'll show anything about the upcoming Zelda at the next E3. dry.gif I have plenty of time to finish the first games.
Or cry trying.
Adventure of Link, here I come.

Edit: Pardon the overuse of smilies, I'm annoying myself. Next post I'll try to avoid that.

Personally I don't really want a TP sequel, but if it happens I'm eager to see what will happen between the whole Midna vs Zelda situation.

I believe that if TP gets a sequel, the last thing they'll do is fix the Zelda vs. Midna. *Laughs evilly*
Wait, that's not what I want. I shouldn't be laughing...

I do believe it's an entirely new game they're making.
Unfortunately I have this feeling Ganondorf won't be coming back.
Just a feeling with nothing to support it. After all, Nintendo is the king of bringing back its iconic characters.
Hm, as long as the new vilain has more a Majora feeling than a Zant one.

Oh right, love.
I bet even more new love interests will come if it's closer to TP/OoT than WW.
I won't mind a kid Link like in WW however. Romance isn't everything for this girl.
I want Zelda to be something more than ''that beautiful princess in the background''. Pleeeeeaase oh please.

IMO Since Midna was the strongest romantic connection Link had in the original TP anyway, them being reunited for closure on their romance in a sequel to TP would make perfect sense if you ask me. Only problem a lot of Zelinkers would be outraged again. But I don't think there should be a TP sequel for the sole purpose of discarding Midna in a shallow and contrived attempt to make the Link and Zelda relationship more compatible somehow. So I'm all for leaving TP the way it is so all the Zelda, Midna, and Illia fans can have their personal romance for Link theories, that way everyone will be happy. But yeah..I agree that the next Zelda game should have Zelda in a more meaningful role for sure.

Shad/Zelda
Shad would not want to be a knight. He's not the type. He'd rather be in his books. he would have no interset in fighting. Besides, he's kinda ugly. I just don;t like him. It's just not possible.

But as for the new Zelda game, I don't know much othere than they rpobably started production around mid-2007.

Who says Shad has to be a knight to marry Zelda? I don't like the pairing either... I'm just sayin'.

I highly doubt that the next Zelda game (or any future Zelda game, for that matter) will involve romance between Link and any another character. There might be the subtlest of hints, but I can't imagine Nintendo ever telling us outright who Link HAS to end up with. That's the thing I love about these games: they leave it up to our indiviudal imaginations.

I'm relatively positive Midna's not coming back. The Mirror of Twilight SHATTERED; it's just not possible for Hyrule and the Twilight realm to ever become connected again. Also, TP Ganondorf is DEAD, so he won't be coming back, either. If the next game is a TP sequel, I hope it's dark and completely different from TP, like Majora's Mask. God I loved that game.

And I agree that Zelda needs to be more involved this time around. Sheik was one of the best additions to OoT, in my opinion. We all know what an awesome character she can be; it's time for Nintendo to allow her to shed the "damsel" guise and kick some ass.

I quote Crystal! Especially on Majora's Mask. It's one of those games that touched me for real.
Though I want Ganondorf back (oy, I like him that much), I just can't imagine how they would do it... again.
--
Don't need to make Zelda a playable character, but there are other people out there who need saving, and she can help in her own way. wink.gif
She has wisdom, people under her command, the soul of a warrior (I hope we all agree on this one way or the other). A great queen! *cough*princess*cough*
And speaking of Sheik: Tetra was awesome too!

Anyway, what made TP so special were the tiny, tiny moments that made the imagination go wild.
It's like the lottery. So ok, you won. The feeling then starts to fade. You have all that money, but you get used to it.
But when you keep having hints that you might win next time, oh by Din is THIS feeling everlasting and great!
So to speak. I personally hate the lotery, but I couldn't think of a better example.

Also, bringing Midna back would leave me the feeling of bringing Goku back in the Dragon Ball anime. It ruins the dramatic feeling of it all.
Finally found the better words.

I also love the platonic version of ZeLink. Deep, genuine caring, but kisses and hugs are not obligatory.
No one can deny that he likes/cares for the princess, not even the Zelda haters, no matter how hard they try. It's the ''marry me'' type of love that causes real debates.

On a final note: I want to see the new Hyrule. On 3D. I know WW Link found something! D:

Personally I think it would have a more DRAMATIC feel if Midna did comeback somehow. Zelda games have a fairy tale theme so anything can happen. Most people just don't want Midna to come back because they hate the fact that she had a stronger romantic connection to Link than Zelda did.

I still don't think its a good idea to have a TP sequel due to the probability that either Midna or Zelda fans are going to get their feelings hurt pending on the direction of the hinted romance in the game. I don't want Midna back either only because I really don't want a TP sequel in the first place. A new Link and Zelda stand alone game is the way to go IMO. But if there is a TP sequel I will definitely still play it.

Considering that the majority of Zelda players are male and probably don't care one way or the other who Link ends up with, I don't think the game creators will try too hard not to piss off the Link/Midna or Link/Zelda fans. Romance has never been a central aspect of the games, although they certainly leave plenty of room for us to speculate. I hope they keep it that way.

Don't get me wrong: I thought Midna was an awesome character, but I feel that any plot involving her miraculously coming back would feel way too contrived and artificial.

I think a TP sequel COULD possibly work. That version of Hyrule was so rich in detail and felt more alive than any other version, and the whole concept of the different gods and the provinces was just really cool, in my opinion. I think they could play around with that some more.

Although I must admit - I yearn for a sequel to Wind Waker more than anything else. It is such an underappreciated gem of a game. And I want to find out what happens next!

Lol some Zelda/Link would beg to differ wink.gif I dare say some felt downright cheated that their epic Zelink fluff wasn't given considering all the hype TP had backing it.

I agree, along with other members' mention of not wanting Midna to come back. I liked her as a character; she was believable and had a strong foundation for character development, but she served her purpose plot-wise. Besides TP's ending was so sad and meaningful...Midna's departure had a lot of emotion behind it!

Phantom Hourglass is more or less a sequel to Windwaker...have you played that? Or do you mean sequels concerning that branch of the split time line theory?

Yes..I'm male and I could care less if Midna does come back. But if she did come back it would make more sense instead of making a TP sequel for the sake of burying the hatchet on Midna in a pretensiously lame effort to make it more Zelink. I just say move on and make another new stand alone Zelda adventure and make that one more Zelink.
