I picked up a copy today. Good article.

Hmmm. Bits I liked:

"...Miyamoto was especially interested in having Link grow up, meet a girl...there is this protecting entity, and he put alot of effort into direction of the movies. Miyamoto's direction focused more on how players who continued playing the game would feel than on constructing a plot per se. For example, he took great care in the execution of emotionally moving scenes, such as when the child Link first leaves the forest and is impressed how large the land of Hyrule is."

You know - the importance of emotional scenes never get credit enough, IMO. They are a class of "proof" for shipping debates on their own, just harder to define.
When dealing with OoT, IMO, Zelda being the focus of our emotions only confirms to me she was the one Link fell for...and was intended to fall for.
It makes no sense to me ( given what is said here ) that he would fall ( or did ) for another girl in light of the focus on Zelda.

If he found out right away, that wouldn't be very interesting, but if he didn't know until the very end, and then learned that she'd been captured by Ganon all that time, that would be even worse.

I love this - even more pointing to how Link feels about Zelda. And I love how the creators see her in such a positive light..they give her the respect she deserves.

Yeah its a very good article remembering that greatest game of all time!! The Ocarina of time is the best of all games and it was full of Zelink. I loved how they thought the idea of creating Zelda as Sheik. It makes Zelda much more cooler that way!

One thing that always bothers me is how badly some of the Zelda fanbase seems to view Zelda..or try to paint her that way. I find it comforting that the creators aren't phased or affected by this. And the Link they've created obviously sees things like that too.

Yes, I'm glad I've picked up Nintendo Power that day.
