| QUOTE (Alantie @ Nov 17 2008, 02:50 AM) | | And by all means, if you have good fics to share, I'd love to see them! ^^ I haven't read much fanfics for them, unfortunately. |
Well, I know a Kafei/Anju fic that I think is good: The Wedding Mask. It hasn't been updated in forever, but I think it's worth a shot.

*adds new members* Hurrah! I knew this would be popular. Ah, thank you for the link, Angel Zelda! I should definitely read that!!! Y'know, I do write fanfics. If any of you have a plot bunny hopping around for a Anju/Kafei fic, prod it my way and we'll see what I can do. : D I agree, the tragedy and heartache of Kafei and Anju's relationship is what makes it so beautiful and appealing. They're doomed, but their love for each other remains unwavering and strong. No matter what happens, they're going to face it together. And they know each other so well- if you read Kafei's diary he remarks on how Anju probably hasn't finished making her mask yet, clearly understanding and knowing her character. Out of curiousity, what do you guys think about the symbolizm of their masks? The sun for Kafei and the moon for Anju. Do you think there's anything there?

Yeah, Kafei and Anju are a bittersweet couple that get their happiness at the end of it all, and that's what makes it appealing to a lot of people. But if you want a really tragic ending to Kafei/Anju, don't give Anju the Pendant of Memories. Help Kafei get the Sun's Mask back, but when he goes to the Stock Pot Inn, Anju won't be there. | QUOTE (Alantie @ Nov 18 2008, 04:45 AM) | | Out of curiousity, what do you guys think about the symbolizm of their masks? I haven't done much thinking about the masks, but I'm assuming they're supposed to symbolize Yin and Yang.

That's actually what I thought, too, when I first read the question. I remember from one of my religion courses that Yin is everything warm and masculine while Yang is cold and feminine. But that's not all they represent, of course. Hey, Alantie. Since you're so set up to do a fic *cough*, why don't you make a fic about Kafei and Anju in Hyrule? You know, Anju the cucco lady and...hm, Kafei could be a distant relative to the Sheikah tribe with those red eyes of his... And that old lady from the Potion shop could be Anju's grandmother, Malon could be Anju's childhood friend etc., etc.

| QUOTE (Alantie @ Nov 19 2008, 05:07 AM) | That would be horribly sad!!! I've never done that. . . but I've gone to Romani Ranch and seen Anju sitting on the bed upset. T_T It's just horribly tragic to see how distraught she is. |
I've never done that either, but I saw a video on Youtube showing what happens if you don't give Anju the Pendant of Memories. Kafei walks into the employees-only room, Anju isn't there, and he looks at her wedding dress. If you talk to him, he says:
| QUOTE (Kafei) | Isn't her bridal dress lovely? We promised each other when we were children that we'd marry on the day of the Carnival of Time. ...But my promise... I couldn't keep it. |
So sad. | QUOTE (Toxo @ Nov 19 2008, 02:39 PM) | | That's actually what I thought, too, when I first read the question. I remember from one of my religion courses that Yin is everything warm and masculine while Yang is cold and feminine. But that's not all they represent, of course. |
That's funny, because I was always told that Yin was feminine and Yang was masculine.

Uhh...I can be wrong. Was Yin white and Yang black or the other way round? It's been quite awhile since I had that course...

Actually, Yin was black and Yang was white. And they had a dot of the opposing color in each of the two. I think the dots are supposed to represent that two opposites need to balance each other out in order to work in harmony with each other.

| QUOTE | | Yin (literally the 'shady place' or 'north slope') is the dark area occluded by the mountain's bulk, while yang (literally the 'sunny place' or 'south slope') is the brightly lit portion. As the sun moves across the sky, yin and yang gradually trade places with each other, revealing what was obscured and obscuring what was revealed.Yin is usually characterized as slow, soft, insubstantial, diffuse, cold, wet, and tranquil. It is generally associated with the feminine, birth and generation, and with the night. Yang, by contrast, is characterized as hard, fast, solid, dry, focused, hot, and aggressive. It is associated with masculinity and daytime. |

. . . *feels the wheels start to turn* Hmmmmm. . . that could be interesting. . . should I do it in Hyrule adult timeline or child timeline?
