So in the game, unlike the rest of the people of Hyrule, who are turned into disembodied spirits, Link is turned into a wolf. His different transformation was because, as one of the bearers of the Triforce, he had the Goddesses protection. The same can be said of Zelda and Ganondorf, what with them both being the bearers of the other two Triforce pieces. The most common theory as to why those two didn't transform into beasts was because they had better control/understanding in regards to their Triforces.

But let's pretend for an instant that all three of the Triforce holders ended up getting turned into beasts. Link we know as a wolf already, and Ganondorf would have no doubt turned into a boar, what with that being his signature beast form and all, but what about Zelda? What animal would she turn into?

Personally, I think she would have become a lioness.
Within a pride of lions, it's the females do all the work, and throughout most of the games, even games where their is a king, it's Zelda who's running the show.
Lioness' are protective of their pride and territory, and we've seen time and again that Zelda will do just about anything for the good of her land and her people.
Lioness are also symbolically associated with the concepts of nobility, dignity, authority, loyalty, honour, and wisdom, all of which fit Zelda to a T.
It also ties in with Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule being the King of Red Lions wink.gif

So what about the rest of you? Anybody else have a different take as to what Zelda might have turned into?

I think Twilight Princess had a central theme going with the whole wolf bit. So I always imagined she'd turn into a wolf as well. Maybe a white one?

I figured that Zelda would either become a white/golden wolf, or a hawk. <333

I remember there were theories that Zelda's cloak was what prevented her from transforming because of the symbols on it- they were protective or something. I don't know. *sweat*

Never heard the cloak theory, but never taken any attention to it either. *Thinks*

Anyway, if the Hero's Shade really is OoT Link, then it'll make sense since both Links were kind of lone wolves even though they started in a ''pack''. Even if it wasn't OoT Link (in a form I would've never imagined, actually... big huge skeleton guy wearing a helm, lmao), it would make sense for the howling duos anyway.

If Zelda was another animal, lioness would make a lot of sense, hawk too, but I'll have to add in owl.
The owl is the symbol of wisdom after all. Plus, some are downright beautiful (and not old-man-looking like that Kaepora Geabora... whatever his name is).

I remember having this kind of conversation with someone before... It was a long debate over the animal she would turn into.

The main animals that were agreed on were an eagle, a hawk and a wolf. I think I spare you from the highly mathematical calculations why those animals would suite so well to her; I just let that poor sucker with whom I talked suffer with that brain damage. 20.gif

What about a butterfly? To quote Bart Simpson, "Nobody ever suspects a butterfly... *evil laugh*" biggrin.gif

That cloak theory seems quite interesting, though. I always saw that cloak as only a piece of clothing that she uses to mourn over the state of Hyrule. (I think Brawl confirmed that) and I saw the symbols as a simple cameo.

Really? I would love to see that Brawl confirmation! Maybe it was on a trophy profile? (Or am I thinking about Melee?)
I'll have to check my Brawl game again.

Though I could be wrong, ever since I saw the Sheikah eye on the back of Zelda's cloak, I thought it was more for symbolic protection than actual protection. After all, the Skeikah were always the protectors of the Hylian royal family, and placing their symbol on an article of clothing already meant for protection does seem fitting.
Another reason for the cloak was that it was probably really freaking cold! A stone room on a high tower in the rain probably doesn't retain the heat that well, and I don't seem to remember her having a fire going in there. Zelda was all bundled up in a heavy cloak and scarf XD

And I know lots of people have thought the Hero's Shade to be OoT Link, but for the longest time I've thought that he was TP Link's actual, biological father. We don't know anything about that Link's parents, only he's the only Hylian in Ordon, and was probably raised by or at leased cared for by Rusl. I can't remember the exact quote, but when you learn the final hidden skill, the Shade says something along the lines of, "Take care, my child."

He does say something like that. *Nods*
It would be awesome if he's Link's father. Nonetheless, the OoT Link theory isn't senseless.
Anyway, wolf and wolf duo beats wolf and cucco duo.

I just remembered: he's left-handed too, no? (Well, right-handed in the Wii version, when everyone else, except Link himself, is left-handed.)

Back on topic:
Just noticed the comment on Zelda being a golden wolf.
She would be beautiful! <3

QUOTE (KokirianClockwork)

I'll have to check my Brawl game again.

The exact quote is:
"The princess of Hyrule, loved and trusted by the people. When Hyrule is
invaded by Zant from the Twilight Realm, Zelda is resolute in opposing
him...but she chooses to protect her people and must surrender. From then on,
she is imprisoned in the Twilight Hyrule Castle. In memory of the lost people
of Hyrule, Zelda wears a black robe of mourning.
"

This quote is from the trophy of Robed Zelda (With hood), which also happens to be one damn cool trophy.

In OoT Zelda was Sheik during the "dark time" when everything was wrong, when Ganondorf had taken over Hyrule, Zelda most likely mourned for the lost people then as Sheik too, but this Zelda did not have to transform herself into a Sheikah. And the symbols are kind of referring to Sheik, who has the same marks on her(/his) clothes.

QUOTE (KokirianClockwork)

Very awesome actually, Linky deserves to have a daddy at least in a one game and no, I do not care if he gets seriously scarred by seeing his father as a skeleton. "Rusl, guess what! My Daddy just taught me how to kill people with very cool and fast moves!"

QUOTE (KokirianClockwork)
I just remembered: he's left-handed too, no? (Well, right-handed in the Wii version, when everyone else, except Link himself, is left-handed.)

Yeah, they're both left-handed in the real version.

She did have a fireplace and it was lit. I remember because on my first visit to Zelda I burned wolf-Link.

Or maybe she thought that it would be cool to be in more dark clothes for once, since she has always been in that dress of hers. "If Link gets to be a wolf, I'm going to be angsty!" On Link's next adventure he has to save Hyrule from Dark Clouds of Emoness and the Princess who's been mentally kidnapped by the Evil King of Angst. That would be... disturbing.

To the topic: A wolf, yes that would be cute.

Actually he said "Go and do not falter, my child." happy.gif

Er, back to the topic: I think the lioness sounds pretty good, fits her proud character very well. She has her gentle side, too. Just like a mother caring for her, um...kittens. *cough*
