A Female Link?, What if...what if indeed

Of course he would be! He's a man who's lost his kingdom, forced to watch them suffer..and he feels compelled to fix it himself.
The creators could use this to work a little initial antagonism between him and the heroine that turns into more...like Midna and Link in TP. He's forced to accept the help of a village girl who like himself, was chosen: but she's more than just some ordinary girl.

I guess overall they'd really have to change things...but I truly see potential. I do agree that the gender difference would make a difference though. Female Link may get ostracized for being too masculine by picking up a sword to fight ( All I can think of is how many fans have reacted to Sheik being Zelda...note, this is not specific to anyone on this forum )
They'd also have to do away with the multiple love interests chasing female Link, or at least she showing interest in several: in my experience as a woman, a girl who flirts with several guys is looked down upon, whereas a man wouldn't be.
Her fighting style may also have to change, as I doubt many women would have the upper body strength needed to handle a sword like the Master Sword or more. Instead, they can give her lighter weapons, a bow and such...more appropriate to her.

HSM: I'm actually with Twilight Mistress. While I love the idea of a female Link...a spin-off/game starring Zelda would be amazing, IMO. They've already established her as capable of holding her own, and I believe she could easily carry her own title.
That said, I think it would need to be a better developed one like OoT or WW Zelda: the suggestion I saw on ZU was a game covering Zelda's seven years while Link slept in OoT. It could possibly cover her transformation and training as Sheik, while she eludes Ganondorf. I like the idea quite a bit, and Sheik could use some more screen time!

Yeah, a female Link definately would be treated differently than a male Link is, but an ostracized Link is not nessasirly a bad thing, it could always add to her personality by making her feel that she needs to prove herself to others, and maybe even a little bit to herself.

And yeah, I'm going to have to agree with the omition of more than one love interest, double standards can be stupid like that. But ultimately, it doesn't matter since Link and Zelda are destined for each other anyways.

Having female Link master a different weapon other than swords would be cool (I myself am partial to the bo staff because I use one when I do karate.) But I do think even a female Link could pick up the Master Sword and use it proficently, I think it has to do with being the the bearer of the Triforce of Courage. OoT Link was able to use the Kokiri Blade right off the start with no training at all, and WW Link had next to no training to use his sword. WW Link also could use the Master Sword himself, despite being only twelve-ish, so I think that the Master Sword is either really light, or it conforms to its user's needs.

Yeah, a Shiek game would be awesome! Assuming she could do everything that she can do in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and more, she'd make a good charater for a fun adventure game. I could also see her handling a little bit like she was from Assassin's Creed, just a little bit though since she'd have all those knives and all.

I'm not saying that I think that a female Link game would be better than any other Zelda game or a game starring Zelda as the main charater, I'm just curious as to how a female Link would be like, whether it's possible or not. I just wonder what others think her personality, her upbringing, and her adventure would be like.

Ohkay, lets get down to bis. I'm going to use that pic up there as my basis. Okay, well first, the possibilities of a female Link. First, everybody would want to buy it out of sheer curiosity. Second, they know most guys like something to look at some times *looks up and down suggestively* that is rather pretty. Third, females would buy it to prove to guys they are superior (which is rather true) and they'll buy it also to show how its proved females are superior, and lastly females will buy it to make them feel good about themselves.

Now the story possibilities are enormous. Just the usual start, female Link (i shall now refer to her as Link) goes out into the world, mostly to prove her worth to herself. The, she happens to arrive at hyrule caste, where she meets Zelda (as a guy of course), or even Link, who she was named after, is King and Zelda is his queen (or there is no Zelda). Then, King Link is abducted,or poisoned, or somtin, then Link most go find the cure, or go save him from his abductors who are keeping him drugged. Also, there can be a new villain. Someone never before seen. Like a snake-like thing or domtin. Someone who strikes fear into all hearts. Even us. Maybe, Link even dies, and meets all the Links before her. Then the goddesses decide to praise her and she is reborn and kicks ass.

Actually, I think our stories will be very different, considering how my femme!Link's parents will most likely be different from yours. So go ahead and write yours.

Thing is, i'll probably use some of your ideas. I'll try to be the most original i can be, but i can't make any promises.
