Unfair (263 words)
“Don’t you think it’s unfair?” She asked.
He looked up from his careful work, wondering what she would complain about now. “What exactly is unfair, love?”
“It just seems unfair to favour one and not the other.”
He snorted sharply through his nose. “I don’t see how. I think, considering it’s my place to decide such things, I should be allowed to do as I damn please.”
She arched an eyebrow. “That’s rich, coming from the one who usually lets himself be pushed around.”
He smirked, a little sheepishly. “Well, this is my occasion to conquer my independence again.” And he set back to work.
She sighed. “Well, I still think it’s unfair. Don’t you think the other will be jealous?”
Highly amused now, he echoed, “Jealous?”
She pursed her lips. “Well, yes.”
He chuckled. “I highly doubt that could ever be the case. And anyhow--” It was hard to speak and work at the same time. “--it’s not like I’ve forgotten it altogether. It’s just a matter of time.”
She sighed contentedly and leaned back with satisfaction. “Ah, yes. Time.”
He hummed but added nothing else.
“But,” she started again, looking at him from her vantage point, “isn’t it still considered a vote of preference to start with one rather than the other?”
Exasperated now, he looked up. “Darling, I really don’t think your garters will be jealous of one another anytime soon, considering they are both going to be discarded in the very near future. Now could you please refrain from comments that are quite this mathematical on our wedding night?”

Zelink Theme #12: Jealousy
Title: Through the Eyes of the Ranch Girl
Words: 143

Link and Zelda. Everyone knew that those two would get together eventually.

Malon was no exception.

So why wasn’t she happy that Link and Zelda had finally gotten together? She ought to have been happy. Link and Zelda were two of Malon’s friends, after all.

Malon knew that she felt at least a minor attraction to Link. She even found herself dreaming of Link sweeping her off her feet. But that didn’t mean--no, of course not.

Malon was not jealous of Zelda just because Zelda was the one who won Link’s heart.

Right?

But if that was true, why did Malon feel sick every time she happened to see that Link and Zelda were sharing an intimate moment together?

“I’m not jealous,” Malon told herself. “I’m not jealous.”

But even though Malon told herself this, deep down, she knew...

She was jealous.

”I’m jealous.”

“Oh, how blunt. Pray tell, what are you jealous of?”

“You.”

“Me? Why?”

“You can cook.”

“....That’s such a sad thing to be jealous of.”

“Why, should I jealous of something else?”

“Uh, of course not! I was just saying that it’s a silly thing to be jealous of.”

“.....I am so not letting you out of my sight for the next few weeks.”

“What? Why?”

“You could be off visiting those “female friends” of yours – that would constitute a more ‘realistic’ jealousy.”

“......I can’t believe you have so little faith in me, Zel.”

“I’m just cautious, and making sure no other girls get a hold of my man.”

“Right. Because then you would never get to eat decent home-cooked food again.”

“Shut up Link”

Title: Just Common Sense
Theme: Jealousy
Wordcount: 170
Genre: General
Setting: AU
Rating: PG

Zelda liked to consider herself a fairly reasonable person, not prone to bouts of mistrust or jealousy. She didn't hold grudges, nor was she vindictive to those who wronged her, though she would admit freely that it took a while for those who broke her trust to earn it again. But that was more common sense than anything.
But when it came to Link, her boyfriend of what seemed like all of her years, Zelda knew her rationality was prone to some faltering. Which was why it amused, disturbed and startled her when she caught another woman eyeing her boyfriend.
Amused because Link could be quite oblivious to the advances of other women.
Disturbed because didn't these women see he was already in a relationship and not even looking their way?
And startled because of the cat-like urge to hiss and claw their eyeballs out for so much as daring to look at her man with such wanton gazes.
But that wasn't jealousy, she reasoned. It was just common sense.

Theme: Jealousy
Words: 248
Title: Green Fairy

“You’re always spending time with her.”

Startled, Link raised a blond eyebrow. “So?” he inquired, sounding slightly amused.

Her tiny wings buzzed in irritation. “So?! You’re a busy guy, Link! You can’t just stay with the Princess all the time! What about the rest of your friends? What about me?”

A slow smile curved Link’s lips. “Navi, are you jealous of Zelda?”

The fairy’s bright blue glow flared brighter. “Excuse me?!”

He laughed out loud, no longer bothering to hide his amusement. “You are!”

“Argh!” Navi groaned. “No, I’m not! I’m just saying you can spend some more time with me instead of wooing Her Royal Highness!! You are always with her! Talking to her! Taking walks with her! Picnics, chocolates, plays and valentines! What about meeeee?!?!?”

Link’s expression softened, and he reached out to touch on of her wings gently. “Aw. Navi,” he sighed. “Just because I love the Princess doesn’t mean she’s taking your place, you know. I still love you too. Just not the same way. But if it makes you feel better, we’ll do something soon, just the two of us.”

Feeling embarrassed by her outburst Navi cuddled against his cheek. “Thanks,” she told him softly. “And do you mean it? Are you really in love with the Princess?”

Cheeks reddening, Link glanced away. “Well. . .”

The fairy cackled in glee. “Oooh! I think I’ll swoop on by the palace and let her know this interesting tidbit!”

Sapphire orbs widened in horror. “Navi!!!”
