Fanfic Idea!, The Household

Winged Darkness is gradually getting closer to being almost done, and so I'm already thinking about another plot for a fan fiction. And I would like your guys' opinions on this.

This one is called The Household... here's what I have so far:

Basic synopsis: Zelda is a servant in Lord Varkinan’s Manor, and she finds herself falling in love with his son, Link Varkinan. Then it turns into a Cinderella sort of story. =’D

Character Relationships:

Umm.... look at the chart… otherwise it would be too long. >>;; (And sorry if it’s hard to understand… it’s sorta… complicated. XD)

Outline (what I’ve come up with so far):

1. Zelda is a servant with Malon and Saria in the Varkinan Manor.
2. Princess Ilia does not want an arranged marriage, so the king decides to host a ball inviting everyone (especially men).
3. Zelda wants to go for the experience. (And she knows Link is going).
4. Malon and Saria buy a dress with both their wages together. (BFF’s! =’D)
5. Whole Varkinan family goes and Zelda poses as Colette.
6. The Varkinan boys are introduced to Princess Ilia, (Ilia falls in lust with Link.)
7. However Link is distracted by “Colette.” (He doesn’t recognize her, because he never really directly looked at Zelly.)
8. They dance and have a great time.
9. Ilia harbors jealousy for Colette.

…That’s all I have so far…

Of course I'm leaving out a lot of detail and of course nothing is set in stone yet...

So what do you guys think? Any suggestions? Ideas? Feedback, please!

I can't follow the chart. I hope the one in your head works out really well, or else we need a bit of a different guide.

Don't make it too complicated, says I. It can become some very good romance if you pan it out right (and since you are HM we know you can).

Clarifying points:

Zelda knows and likes Link prior to this dance, yes?
Ilia and Link's relationship is of what kind?
Does Ilia know Zelda is Collette, or does she just hate the mysterious Collette?
Do we get a love at first sight thing between Link and Zelda, and Ilia falls head over heels at first sight with Link? Or is there an established background between these characters?
Is Prince Benjamin an original character? If he is, since this is a fanfic is there no other character to fill his place? (I can understand using OCs but it's just a question)
What is Ben's role in relation to the other characters? Or is he just there to give some kind of ordinairy to the King's family?
Whos is Patricia? (This takes a while to digest)...maybe replace with Veran?
What's a BFF? Sorry, I'm illiterate.
Does Lady Vark. love Mr. Vark? Is Ganon's relationship with lady Vark. a business one, or something more?

I ask these questions just for discussion and clarification. If they are crucial to shock points, then don't answer. It's your liberty as the writer.

As for most fluff, it's not my speciality. I refer to you CGM as the better fluff and overall writer if you need any more help. =D

Oh, sorry. XD;; I can understand the chart though... Not everything will be thrown all at the reader at once as far as relationships--it'll come in bit by bit.

And yes, I shall answer all your questions!

1. Yes, Zelda does like Link prior to the ball. (That's why she goes.)
2. The relationship between Link and Ilia is one-sided. She's "AAHHH!!! *heart*" and he's "Ehhhh.... -.-"
3. Ilia does not like the mysterious Colette. She doesn't know about Zelda.
4. There is no background really between Link and Zelda and that's why I will make it "infatuation at first sight"... but as they spend more time together, it becomes love. As for Ilia, she just falls head over heels.
5. Yes, Prince Benjie is an OC. He's the eldest. If I had made Ilia the eldest, then her marriage would have been arranged and the whole ball wouldn't make too much sense really... But another big reason is because I did NOT want to see Ilia suceed the throne to Hyrule.
6. Ben does not have a too big of roll. He's one of those laid back people. I may give him one or two clever lines to say though.
7. Patricia? She's the one that exposes Zelda for posing as Colette because she's jealous. Veran? THANK YOU!!! I was having a brain fart over characters... Veran fits much more.
8. BFF means "Best friends forever!"
9. I haven't really gone too much in depth for Lady and Lord Vark... they may have loved each other once, but as far as the story, their relationship is rather cold. As for the relationship between Ganondorf and Lady Vark... it's business as far as I know... but I suppose I could make it something more. But if I did, it wouldn't be that big--we don't want to detract from the REAL couple here. =3

If you want to get a feel for the mood I'm going at... watch Ever After. The idea was inspired from that movie. (Though it's pretty much a girl movie... ^^; )

I hope that cleared a couple of things for you. Thanks for your imput! And since you asked what "BFF" means, can I ask what "ftw" means? (I'm going to guess first... "for the win"?)

I think I'll manage just fine as far as fluff goes... I don't really know CGM all that well, either. XD

Hee. It's alright. Just my thoughts.

As far as I know, and as in that context, ftw is for the win.

If you have Benji there, perhaps you could replace him with another character to increase his role or something. It's kinda pointless having there (in my opinion) just so that Ilia isn't queen or something. But it's your choice. It'd be nice to flesh him out more. If he's villianous, maybe you might use Onox as a replacement, or Komali from Windwaker if he's nicer. If he's a goody-two shoes, possibly Fado from Windwaker or Makar.

Ever after? Watched in English. My Excel teacher was cool!

Well then...if you're in an Ever After mood...

Does Malon fall in love with someone? Possibly link? Is there friction in the relationship between her and Zellie?
