I've been talking about my fan fiction, Winged Darkness... so might as well XD;; (And it's not doing too spectacular. >___>;; ) This is kind of a (long) synopsis-like, addressing the conflict thing... because I don't want to post the whole fan fiction on a forum. XD (It's several chapters and growing...) So here it is!:
~~

The malevolent Star of Winged Darkness is reawakened when Ganondorf retrieves it from its protected shrine deep in a dark forest. After a hasty escape, his efforts are in vain when the stone does something sickly to his arm and he has no choice but to leave it behind—fearing what might happen to him if he touched the star again.

Meanwhile, a young man named Link lives with his grandmother and little sister, Aryll, in a small farming community and is friends with the energetic Vaati. However, Link’s true origin doesn’t lie in the village—in fact he has forgotten everything about his childhood. When he was younger, children his age scorned him for the mark on his left hand, believing that it was a mark of misfortune and evil. Time passed, and finally he had begun to be accepted into the village as the best horse trainer. The day of the town’s festival arrived, and Link and Vaati have their share of fun and excitement, but Link gazes and wonders as he sees the sight of the “Glistening Princess” fly over the village…

Several days of the festival left Link devoid of any work, and after a few days, he finally returns to his normal duties as a horse trainer. After greeting and chasing his most cherished horse, Epona, Link finds himself before a vast wall of trees. Unfortunately, they are the trees belonging to the forbidden woods of his village. Before he could turn away, however, Link is possessed by some unknown force and his consciousness is dragged to the back of his mind. He stops before a shining star and he finds himself taking it in hand. Pain envelops him when the Star of Winged Darkness buries itself into Link’s chest, and he is left ill for several days.

When Link recovers, he nearly had forgotten about the star merging itself with him, and looks at it as almost a mere nightmare that occurred one night. However, it manifests itself into reality when a grotesque creature charges into the peaceful farming village. Link, Vaati, and several other men lead it out to exterminate it. Vaati, unfortunately, lured the fell beast to the cliffs to make it an easier target and fell to his death when the monster was struck down. Link becomes devastated and almost emotionally drained from the incident. Things only get worst for him when the village council proclaims that the monster’s coming was due to Link approaching the forest to the east and encountering the Star of Winged Darkness. They claim that the mark on his left hand has brought misfortune, and he is banished from the village. Link says his last goodbyes to his grandmother and sister, with tears in his eyes, and leaves—not turning back.

Link rides with Epona, traveling to the residence of the Glistening Princess, as advised by the village council to relieve the stone from his body. The journey is lonely for him, but eventually he reaches a large castle where clouds walk the plains around it. Upon entering it, he meets a beautiful maiden that doesn’t seem to be very lady-like at all—manners and dress. He is stunned to see wings spread from her back, and it is then when she introduces herself as the ‘Glistening Princess’, (as the common folk would call her), and her name being Princess Zelda.

By day, the castle is beautiful and serene, but as night falls, Link is surrounded by twisted hallways and darkened surroundings. Zelda tells him that it is due to her consumption of a demon, and by day the castle is a paradise, but by night, it is the reflection of the demon heart. However, she claims that it is her ultimate power, even though it curses her. She and Link decide to leave for the Forest of Twilight by the morning, the only place where the Star of Winged Darkness can be removed from Link…
