*ignoring the spoilers, ignoring the spoilers, ignoring the spoilers...* O_____O;;; (I haven't beaten the game yet!...Sad I know... but I don't have many opportunities to play the Wii.) This is all making me sad though... A bit off topic, but those quotes I mentioned before can be found in quite a few places... Wikipedia is just the first place I thought of. Sorry, guys... ^^; ...Hey, at least Twilight Princess is an amazing game! *shurikens fly at HM.* X_X So I'm guessing the debate of "who Link should be with" goes on?

I personally don't like this. I mean, the original Famicom game had them kiss at the end but now THIS!? How awful! ( I never liked Midna even as I played and that other girl who forgot the name of means nothing to me ) Really Link, there is one princess for and she sure ain't the Twilight Princess! *walks off to play the original Famicom game so she doesn't drive an LxZ stake through the creator of Zelda's heart*

Ermm...From what you guys are saying, this is what I have derived: The Link/Ilia relationship is much like that of Link/Saria. Close friends, nothing else. Zelda, on the other hand, is timeless. She's classic. She's always there. All the other girl characters, (Yush, Malon too - MaLinkers are EVERYWHERE O_o) aren't nearly as important. Without Zelda, there'd be nothing~! So, we can assume that ZeLink is favored by the creators, as proved by the interviews, and screw all those other soooo un-canon pairings. ;P Hmmmnnn...Midna? Isn't she that....Thing? xD I don't think she's got any chance with Link, either. So; ZeLink is still teh pwnzorzz pairing. We have CM's fanfictions, after all. *Is addicted to Only in Hyrule xPP* Meh. I haven't played TP, either...*sniffles* I guess we'll just have to read between the lines. xD

Well, not exactly. That's just a shape she takes on. Her true form is a kinda funky looking lady. (There's a spoiler cover there if you didn't notice. ^^ ) Really, I find Midna over all unappealing, at least physicaly.

Hmm, my feelings on the whole Link/Midna situation are somewhat complicated. I love Midna, and the interaction between her and Link is just awesome to watch. A Link/Midna pairing is definately there, more so than Link/Ilia I think. In fact, I'd say it's the most official couple of the game, but something happens that makes it impossible for them to be together.
So here's how I see it, I support a Midna/Link coupling that involves the time they spent together during the game. Anything beyond that I don't support because it's simply not possible, and plus I'm a Zelinker through and through. The two will never marry or any of that. I also tend to wonder if that relationship was truly "love" or if it was just a matter of one caring for the other.
And hey, I think Midna looks beautiful in her true form...
The reason I'm bothering to say I support the couple is because I'll take Link/Midna over Link/Ilia any day. I just plain do not like Ilia. I have a feeling the world of Zelda TP shipping fandom will be mostly divided between Link/Midna and Link/Ilia. Zelink will probably be in the minority, sadly. *mourns*
The Link/Ilia relationship is a lot like Link/Saria except for one problem. Ilia is Link's age, which increases her potential as love interest considerably, DANGIT.
Zelink is still my favorite pairing for TP because they still share the same destiny and they still seem meant for one another. I will admit however, Zelink fanart and fanfiction will heavily depend on the fans' imagination- even more so than OoT. I've got an idea for a Zelink fanfic about the aftermath of TP that I am determined to write someday.
*sigh* Why Nintendo? Why did you screw with my head in all your interviews like that? If only Zelda had been in Midna's place...

ZeLink is still top on my list! ^^ Nothing can shake it to the bottom. >=3 Yeah, Link and Midna's relationship doesn't go any farther than what happens in the game. I enjoy Midna as a character though-- she's one of my favorites. ^^ (She's a JERK in the beginning though. >_>) Pffffffffft.... Ilia can go sit in her fancy shancy house... The more I think about it, the more I think that the whole Link/Ilia relationship is rather one-sided. I mean, Link is still friends with her and friends do care about one-another, but I don't see Link going absolutely ballistic with joy when he sees her. AND... <spoiler?> When Ilia regained her memory, you'd think that Link would beam in a smile and give her a hug or something-- but he did nothing of the sort. And he didn't really smile. It was only Ilia that said something like, "I'll always be here for you". And that's more of a "friend" saying if you will, friends look out for each other.<spoiler?> I like the whole "sharing destinies" logic, Ingie! ^^ I agree with you! ZeLink just has a nice ring to it, you know? (I need to write some sort of creatively written essay about why Zelda and Link are so meant for each other.) I would write fan fictions based on what happens after TP, but I have "Winged Darkness" to write. ^^; Well... I still say ZeLink forever!!

I am, and most likely will always be, a Zelinker from the bottom of my heart. However, this doesn't mean I belittle other shippings. In fact, I happen to be very supportive of other shippings. I personally don't mind other pairings, because the option for Zelda and Link being together is still very probable in many other games. So, for my views on the other females in Twilight Princess? I'd like to point out that I don't really like Ilia all that much either, but for different reasons. She's a cute character (though I'll blatantly say I hate her hair), and she seemed to fit the role she was given well. Some people see her as mean, but being able to bicker with with someone sometimes shows how close you are with them. You also have to consider that she did apologize, and she did make that horse-whistle solely for Link, after all. Now, the reason why I don't like Ilia is more along the lines of her connection to Epona. I'm sure she was created with the intention of becoming a character all on her own, which she was, but let's be honest here-- if there's one girl you think of when you think Epona, it's Malon. It feels to me like they ran out of idea's and slapped on Ilia as a replacement for her. It also seems to me that, though Ilia started out as Link's main love interest (obviously), Nintendo pretty much scrapped the idea as the story progressed. After the portion of the game in which you need to save all the kiddies, and retrieve Ilia's memory, she was pretty much in the back burner for Midna to take her place. For that reason, I see Ilia as a good friend more than anything (though the love possibility is still there). Now, with Midna... she's a whole 'nother story. Midna is a wonderful character, and though she starts out as an annoying slave-driver XD she really grows on you. She is, if not the most, one of Nintendo's most dynamic Zelda characters ever created, in my opinion. I have no hard time imagining Link and Midna hooking up either ( except for what happened at the very, very end when she broke all ties along with the mirror). Midna is complicated, and she is absolutely amazing because of it. She is human, and it's easy to relate to her very human (err... Twili) feelings. She's also a very open character, so a lot of her emotions are very frank and to the point. Link also returned the care and tenderness. You could say it's a strong bond, but to me... it seemed like more than that. As for Zelda hooking up with Link? That's most likely not going to happen, unless something happened after Twilight Princess that we did not see (and that is the glory of fanfiction). I was upset for Zelda's lack of screen-time, and that her relation to Link was next to nothing, too, but I feel that she was still a wonderful character nonetheless. If anything, Nintendo didn't destroy her character in this game (as so many people like to claim)... I like to believe that they made Zelda the noble Princess, and Ruler of Hyrule, that she was meant to be. She's been getting more of a role during battle, if anything, and I think that's another step in defining the type of person Zelda is... both wise and strong. She just didn't have a leading role this time around. So I'd like to just make a point and say that, in the end Nintendo left yet another open ending. Nothing was definite, albeit it was hinted at. You are the gamer, and you are Link. It's your choice who you want him to end up with (until the day comes when he really DOES end up with a character-- which I can't see just yet in any Zelda game soon to come). Any pairing is possible with a little bit of imagination, and passion on your part. If you want Zelink? Go for it.

| QUOTE (crazyfreak @ Dec 22 2006, 01:00 AM) | | Spoiler=>Link leaves Ilia and follows the path of the hero. the game ends like that, I think he'll go back to Zelda or something. end of spoiler |
Reply to Crazyfreak/Spoiler => But at the end of the game, wasn't Ilia waiting for him by his house? And then you see Link riding towards his village where she's waiting. You should bring your site back that you said you had and point stuff out like that. The members could help you! PwwweeeeaaaAAassee! Even though I am not a mod, I want to show ZeLink exsists! And he always goes back to zelda Alright, I feel satisfied. EDIT:Oh, I'm sorry Crazyfreak, I got my information confused, someone fixed it in another thread. I thought of this fun theory that could work. spoiler/theory It's their traditional Link shows emotion towards everybody like other Zelda games. If Zelda had more screen time, she would have more romantice moments... But she couldnt' because she was captured. So then, he does probably go to Zelda to protect the world...^ I posted that in another thread.

****SPOILERS**** Yep, Link is most definately riding away from Ordon at the end. I've seen screenshot comparisons to prove it. That's also why it shows his empty window and Ilia just standing there looking kinda sad. I'm so glad he didn't return to his simple country life... So a Zelink pairing is quite possible in the aftermath of TP. Who knows where Link was off to? I say Hyrule Castle. ****END SPOILERS**** I can't get the color text to work...

Heh, heh... Ingie, that reminds me of what happened earlier this morning. It took me a while to beat Twilight Princess, because of school, but I did beat it once I got my own copy. ^^
<SPOILER> I woke up 7:50 AM, still thinking about the last shot in the game. It was bugging me the whole night before so I beat the game again. XD This is kinda how I interpreted it:
(If you're going uphill... it's toward Ordon... if you're going downhill, it's away from Ordon...) At first I was shocked, because it looked like for a moment that Link was riding uphill... I screamed, "YOU TRAITOR!!!!" Then in my panic, I began formulating what would happen after Twilight Princess, "Maybe he won't get the journey off of his mind while Ilia is hitting on him, and then he finally leaves because he's so restless. I mean I would have a little trouble accepting the fact of returning home after all that he saw." But then I reset the game saying to myself, "I have to know for sure..."
So I warp to that exact place... and then I start running in the direction toward Ordon. However... I had noticed that the chasm that he was riding toward had a rock sticking out on the side... but when you ride toward Ordon, it's not there. Excited, I plunge through the Ordon chasm, just to make sure... But as I get closer and closer, there is no sign of the rock. I start beaming. I then run (I was the wolf, because I was too anxious to change back) back away from Ordon and lo and behold... the chasm that you ride through when going away from Ordon has the rock sticking out. And for a moment, it seems that you're going uphill, but it quickly drops.
THEREFORE... Link was riding AWAY from Ordon... and now that I think about it...
The very last shot (there's a name for it, but I can't spell it... denemuoux?) usually depicts what the life of the main character is after the story. What bothered me the most was the shot of the goat wrangler guy shouting at Link's house, but didn't find Link peeking out of his window like usual. What was the point of that scene? Then it shows Ilia looking intently at the exit of Ordon. However, why was the goat wrangler there? I believe that the fact that Link didn't peek out of his window was to show the fact that the village of Ordon would be different without him. If Link was to return, then that shot would have been pointless... see what I'm saying?
I'm thinking Hyrule Castle, too. 8D (Though in reality, the ending is left open for any interpretation... but for ZeLinkers... Hyrule Castle it is...)<SPOILER>
Yes, HM has no life. XD;;;; It's winter break for me so hey! I can do things like this. X3 Downhill is always better than uphill anyways. >8D

Well, I just beat TP today, so here are my comments on the three girls. xD YAY. SPOILERS. HIGHLIGHT AT YOUR OWN RISK. 8D Ilia: She's cute. x3 Although, they seem to be more of childhood friends than anything else...She's like a combination of Saria + Malon. ^^;;; And, the only Link x Ilia scenes, really, are when she gets her memory back and other little things. I mean, it seems every girl that Link has known in childhood is a sister figure. O_o *pokes Aryll*
Midna: Wowww. Midna is so pretty at the end of the game. x3 They seem to have tiny, TINY little scenes...Such as when she touches Link's cheek, and in the end of the game....Well, I guess that TP is going to spawn a new generation of pairings - LinkxIlia and LinkxMidna. X_O
Zelda: ZOMYGOSH. <33 Zelda was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in TP. *_* <333 Yeah. I was pretty pissed off that all the slightly ZeLink scenes were SMOOSHED into the end of the game. xDD Although, the hand-holding scene was exactly how I imagined it...xD And, the horseback-riding would make a really nice fanart. <333 I don't know; it was rather disappointing that there was a lack of ZeLink in TP. XP
What we have to remember, though, is that Zelda is really the only constant girl in the series. xD Sure, Link seems to have evidence of liking other girls in other games, but they're all just for that ONE game. xD Link x Zelda is legendary. Oh, I do agree with you though, HM....About Link riding away from Ordon. You have a nice analysis going~!
