Why Link?, Reasons you love the guy.

I'd have to say that my favourite thing about Link is that no matter how bad it gets, no matter how hopeless it seems, no matter how far he falls, he never ever gives up, or turn into some sort of little emo angst punk, which is a big plus

Well, FF authors would argue the emo angst thing with you, but I agree. No matter how bad it gets, we never see Link wanting to give up or run away. He's always determined and always searches for a way, even when it seems hopeless. I mean, he went ALONE into Ganon's castle to rescue Zelda! That is heroism right there.

Why I personally love Link? Because whenever he gets knocked down, he always gets back up, stronger and better than before. He has a great sense of responsibility and will see it through no matter what. And the fact that he is ultimately human. He can fall down but is willing to pick himself up and go on. Something like that is easy to admire in anyone.

The greatest thing about Link for me is his courage. Link personifies every last thing about it, from being able to stand up against fearful monsters, facing down his destiny, and the complete mastery of fear, to doing the right thing no matter what, taking responsibility for what he has done, and helping others.

I think the great things about Link are sometimes indescribable.
He is full of courage, strength, selflessness, optimism, kindness, and like most people said, even though he is everything that may not seem humanly possible to be, he is human.
Though these characters aren't real, they make them seem really realistic to talk about them. That's one thing I like about the characters in the games ( besides the freaky, sick monsters in most): They're life-like enough for people to want to look up to them.

In all, I find that the greatest thing about Link is that he is the human no one has or will ever be (well, so far anyway...).

PS: You know Cloud in Final Fantasy??? He looks a wee bit like a girl, to me. His face is a bit too gentle for a Japanese sword-fighter who almost never dies, unlike Link. Not only does Link fall but somehow manages to get back up, he has a hero face and that sense of purpose.

I like Link because I am able to utilize his combat abilities to make him into a lean-mean killing machine. Especially in the 3D games. Maybe not as much in the 2D ones because I actually died a number of times in those Zelda games.
