Ideas for fics, In need of some, scab if you want

Alright, here's a general place where fanfiction writers can discuss ideas for new stories. Somehow I feel we're in need of them...

And here's my idea.

Has everyone played FFX? If you haven't here's a plot in three nutshells.

Tidus is a star of Zanarkand, until one day he is transported to a 1/2 medieval land called Spira where a monstrosity called Sin is killing everything. Sin can only be defeated by a summoner who has completed a pilgrimage, requiring summoners to awaken Aeons, creatures that have the potential to defeat Sin. Tidus meets a girl called Yuna, a summoner, and eventually becomes her guardian, a person who protects her. Both of them have to fight Sin to save Spira, yadah-yadah-yadah...

And now here's my idea. For real. And its in an AU Hyrule.

There are two opposing factions in modern Hyrule: one faction devoted to the Goddesses. They use magic, and hold the stronghold of Hyrule Castle Town. However, the town has been betterd by the use of some modern technologies; mainly civilian technologies. Other races in this faction include the Zoras, and the Kokiri. However, another faction has embraced moving on, and no longer worships the Goddesses, having found their own ways of thinking. They use machines and "modern" technology, including firearms and tanks. Their sides include the Gerudos, who have become master assassins through the ages, the Gorons and normal Hylians.

When the main power sources that both factions use suddenly crash, it's revealed that there is no more power to be consumed, and there's no more fuel for their reactors. Both sides blame each other for the crashes, and the loss of fuel, so they start a war. The side that relies on technology alone because of lack of fuel realises that it cannot win, so it negotiates with the Hyrule caste. In the end, they come to a solution that there is a Temple somewhere in Hyrule that has unlimited potential and energy, and that it would be beneficial for both sides to find it.

The Caste of the Goddesses wishes to find the temple to restore it as a place of worship, and then use it to convert everyone to the religion of the Goddesses, while the Technological faction wish to take the temple to power their machines. Thus, they agree to send out a party consisting of personnel from both sides. Among them include: Link Forrester, HEM Brigade Captain, (Hyrule Enterprises Military), Nabooru Moonstar, HE Secret Service Agent, Darunia Hammerhead, Mining Explorations Manager and Physcist, Ruto Golding, Keeper of Records at the Divinity Library, Saria Greene and Mido Lockleafe, two apprentices of Magick, their teacher, Impa Willowway, and Zelda Harkinian, one of the head spellcasters of the Caste of the Goddesses. Also coming from the HE side-the crazy docotr of Lake Hylia and Link's twin, Oscuro Forrester, also an HEM Brigade Captain.

And then you can make the rest up. And it must be LxZ. MUST BE!

Having been into FFX of late as well, I completely approve of that idea.

I think it would be essential, as well (and because I'm such a freak for AU stuff), to describe both sides as the characters are introduced. I mean, real-time exposition.

Instead of explaining the political situation as you just did in an introductory chapter, just have the characters interact with their technology or religion in a narrative way. That way, you expose the characters, the politics, and the facts in a dynamic, interesting way.

At least, that's how I'd start it off. Because I love AUs. ^^

Oh. ^^; Well, I already am working on a new story, "Only in Hyrule". It's a Zelink where Zelda, a waitress in a grungy town, suddenly gets taken to the big city by a publicist (with the bod for sin, if you can guess who he might be ) who has every intention of making her the perfect future queen.

The overall setting is that Hyrule, until then a democracy, has been convinced by the up and rising Royalty Party that a return to a basic monarchial system would be beneficial for the nation. Zelda basically gets caught in the crossfire for various reasons which I will not discuss here because that would give away a part of the plot.

The story follows Zelda during the whole month of training that she undergoes, with almost a chapter per day. More precisely, the story will be 27 chapters long and boast the most extensive cast of Zelda characters I've ever used. It's, predictably, an AU, and the longest fanfic I've ever worked on.

It should be ready to post within two or three months. You're all invited to read it once I release it.

After that, I'll be too busy playing TP to write anything for a while.

Zelda is your typical girl, and its documented how one of her friends, Link Forrester, continuosly steals her glasses inside her diary. From the first time he steals them, to the time she slaps him, and then regrets it is (very quickly) documented in her diary.

Now, years later, Zelda Harkinian is an article writer for gossip columns and business magazines. What happens when she has to interview the latest CEO (and you can guess who it is ) And then

We are nearly about half/quarter way through.

Lol, I just had a bizarre idea for a Zelink fanfiction I wondered if anyone here would tell me if it sounds like a good idea or not. Well, here's what I was thinking in a nutshell: It's a modern day fic. Zelda is in with the preppy, popular, do things by rules, date certain guys kind of group that includes Marin, Ganondorf, Ruto, and random others. Link is a biker, kind of rebelly, but a good, decent guy, in with a group of others like him including Malon, Saria, Mido, and others. Link harbors a secret crush on Zelda, but as her group obviously wouldn't approve of him, he never acts on it until one day when he stops Ganondorf from harrassing Zelda. In payment, he wants her to go on a date with him. She's furious, but agrees, and Link takes her out on several dates. To her shock, Zelda finds herself falling in love with him, but doesn't know what to do knowing that her friends won't approve. Sound corny? Stupid? Already been done? Tell me. ..

I'd say it's not bad, though perhaps a bit predictable. In my opinion, you could add depth to Link's character by making him a true delinquent. The kind who destroys public property by nightfall and everything. He wouldn't harbour a secret crush from the start, but having hated Ganondorf most of his life and seeing an opportunity to get some action, he asks Zelda to date him as payment.

This way, both Link and Zelda could have a character transformation, rather than have Link stay two-dimensional.

Then again, your idea works too. It's up to you.

Lol. Give him dark hair. Dye it. Make him goth. And use the medium of DL and Link to show the change.

As CGM said predictable. But alright. Needs twists and turns. Like...hmm...I had this one for mine; the unexpected I'm leaving school or cgoing to another college one.

Ganondorf hating thing is a good idea, however, Ganny's construct should be as a rich snob in my opinion; gives a good reason to hate him. God, lost my temper at a rich snob today, come to think of it.

I think you shouldn't just make Link not have a crush, only a physical attraction, and wantign to get Ganondorf back. As it progresses, you can also throw in things like how Link uses Zelda's status to get into people's good books and stuff.

Biker? Hmm...one of those "gangster" dudes is alright. And make him lowride. Have a scene where he runs from the cops, and his pants drop off! And maybe make Zellie's dada a cop, to create some tension.

Oh no, I love your ideas guys!! This was just the basic idea I had for the fic. I only came up with it a couple of hours ago! ; I rather like the idea of Zelda's dad being a cop And Link dying his hair black makes me laugh!!

I agree DH, I'll have Link start out with just the physical attration thing, and when he helps Zelda out, the date idea is based on that physical attraction.
