I think another reason why Ganondorf always goes after Zelda is because she holds one of the pieces of the Triforce. The same thing can be said as to why he always goes after Link too. For good or ill, Link, Zelda and Ganondorf, in any of their incarnations, have their destinies intertwined, and all thanks to the Triforce (!WW spoiler! As Ganondorf said near the end of WW, just before he summoned the Triforce, "Now let us be rid of that which binds us together!" !end spoiler!) Because of past dealings with the two of them, Ganondorf knows where to strike to hurt them the most. With Zelda, he captures her, separates her from her people, and prevents her from doing anything to help. If she weren’t clever enough to come up with ways to get around him and help without him knowing, she'd probably go mad. With Link, he always attacks the people and places he cares most about, be they his family, his friends, his home, or Zelda. Like I said earlier, Ganondorf is a bastard, and he obviously gets his kicks by making his enemies suffer. And being as bound and continually thwarted by Link and Zelda as he is, he definitely wants to cause them as much suffering as they cause him. And LZ Angel, you don't have to worry. I only want to capture princes. Hot princes

Ooh, that would be fun!

Lol. That would be amusing. And then he'd set us all strait and tell us how obvious it is about Zelink, and how it only helps in his evil planning. . . |
AWESOME. Now we can finally say to Link what Ganon has planned >D

Same here. Zelda is the main girl in almost each and every game, with the other ones having what could be considered an "alternate" form of her in the main role. Marin was LA's dream interpretation of Zelda, and Midna even is the "Shadow" side to Zelda's light..which I think may have been inspired from Sheik ( the Sheikah are associated prominently with Shadow ) and her personality from Tetra. Oh. And it's questionable as evidence, but I've been bringing it up in lots of other places. From Twilight Princess: Link is given the Hero of Time's ( heavily implied to him ) green tunic: "The green tunic that is your garb once belonged to the ancient hero.." Same goes with the Zora's Armor which is received from Queen Rutella: "my husband created garments specifically for the chosen hero, garments that house the abilities of the Zora." "You got Zora armor! This armor was handed down through the Zora royal family." So we have two garments that either belonged to the previous Hero or were made for him. Now where does the Zelinky-ness come in? The Magic Armor. If you take a good look at it..it's literally the male version of TP Zelda's garb. Green Stones for "Courage" ( to Blue for Wisdom in hers ), Link's hat in royal colors and basically his normal outfit, but regal and old ( judging from how tarnished it is ). I can't think of a better idea of where it came from than it once belonged to the previous Hero, like the other two. Who else would wear that hat? If that's so..that meant he was his Zelda's consort eventually. That was part of me and my friend's article on ZU: we wrote a whole article on how Link should become the King. ( with a better pic of it in there ) ( am I allowed to post the link? )
