Somehow, I think that Zelda won't actually be doing sword fighting in TP. More like intervening during story sequences. After all, if she does all the ass-kicking, what'll happen to Link's role, right? I have trouble imagining Nintendo giving Zelda a swordmaster's role. Besides, that sword seems a bit flimsy for slashing Lizalfos, y'know?

I hope I'm wrong, though. cool.gif

Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a cutscene where Zelda pointed her sword at Link? I mean, how does she know who to trust, especially if he's in his wolf form? I'd love to see how Link would react to that... laugh.gif

Actually. It would be sick to have her as an ally...

It's like. You go in the room. And you get army of Heartless style thingo, and she just appears. And then you perform whoop-chang. And smile...

You gurls got realy bz while I was away...

True. An army of stalfos to fight would be sw33t. Or Iron Knuckles. Or something really cool like that.

With Zelda to fight at your side, it would be amazing.

But to have her all through the game? I don't know. I'm not sure about turning LoZ into a FF 'party' type of fight.

Still. One room here and there? That would kick major ass.

I wouldn't want Zelda to go FF either, but wouldn't it be neat to play a portion of the game as Zelda? Maybe just a small segment, but that would be way neato!! biggrin.gif

Somehow I'm a traditionalist on that aspect. Link all the way. The only other playable character that wasn't a form of Link was Kafei, in MM, and all he did was walk around a bit. I'm not sure about making Zelda playable character. That would have required extra modeling and motion sensing. They would have to design new moves and all that for what? A few scenes? Somehow, I can't picture Nintendo doing that.

Then again, if they do it, I'll embrace it.

Hmm...

I don't mind. But yeah...FF Party might work, sorta...like, I dunno, KH style! Zat would be cool! The fact Zelda has a sword, and if she could use it proper, kicks ass!

Yeah, if there could be a little co-op in a dungeon or two- that would be just awesome.

I remember playing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time where Farah and the Prince worked together. I LOVED it, it was just so cool to listen to them talk to each other. There would be no talking in Zelda of course, but the interaction would still be very lovely. ^^

Ah, I've always been a fan of the concept of Zelda being playable. And unlike most, I can actually see Nintendo going through with it--they already seem to be taking steps in that direction. Let's not forget that Kafei isn't the only character we've been able to control (and that was pretty lame, I gotta say, since you only got to walk around for a few seconds. laugh.gif ). The Wind Waker showed us, up front and center, that things are changing in the series. We got to control other characters on numerous occasions--full dungeons were devoted to switching control and working as a team. Medli and Makar, IMHO, were fabulous. I personally adored the Wind and Earth temples, and they were undoubtedly my favorite dungeons in the whole game, and I absolutely loved working with Zelda in the final battle. So naturally I'd lovelovelove to see more stuff like that--can you imagine how much it would rock playing through a whole dungeon as Link and Zelda? I certainly can. 8D

In fact, I wouldn't even mind a party game. Most of you probably know I'm a rabid Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts fangirl, so it probably looks like I'm being majorly biased toward Squeenix right now, but I do think that it could work marvelously while still maintaining the classic Zelda feel. Like Firefly said, a KH-type approach would probably be the best way to do it--you control Link, but you have the backup of other characters that follow you around in areas like dungeons. I think it would rock if it were limited to a party of two at all times. Depending on which area of Hyrule you're in, you (as Link, of course) are paired up with another character. In an OOT sense, for example, entering the forest area brings Saria into your party, entering the mountain area brings in Darunia, the water area brings in Ruto, etc, and each of them have special skills/weapons. But for the general areas like Hyrule field, you are alone (or with your horse). And in the last dungeon, of course, you would get to pair up with Zelda and kick some ass with light arrows/magic/ninja skillz. biggrin.gif

And I'm pretty confident that the sword in the artwork of Zelda isn't just for show. Mark my words: she's going open a can of whoopass or I'll eat my hand. XD And I can totally see another TWW-like teamwork thing going on with her and Link. She will definitely be helping in the final battle. She's done that for, what, three or four different games now? Aonuma seems to enjoy the concept of ass-kicking Zelda, and by the looks of things, I don't think he's going to dump it anytime soon. biggrin.gif

Okay, I'm in hyper fangirl mode and I'm getting WAY off-topic. Don't mind me. tongue.gif (And thanks so much to all of you who commented on le rant. Advocate of Defense?! I feel so goshdarned special! wub.gif )

Yes, I suppose team work is interesting, but I was also hoping that Nintendo would keep its sense of individuality versus Square Enix.

For instance, it's been shown that TP will make use of animals during dungeons (like monkeys in the Forest Temple), but I wasn't hoping for an adventure where Link was constantly followed. For some reason, I always pictured him doing those dungeons out of his own strength and smarts, not with someone else's help.

Of course, if some sections needed other characters, like in the Wind Waker, that'd be great.

But through the whole game? Nope. I'd have to disagree there.

But wouldn't it expose a second side to Link's character to have parts showing that he can't always do everything by himself? Just a thought...

Back to the original subject.

The fact that Zelda can pitch an Ocarina that far, from a galloping horse, is already evidence for me. biggrin.gif

Yup, I have to agree on the throwing thing. And whoever has kickass skills in communicating with the mind HAS to rock.
