In addition to firefly's question, I'm curious: Are you the same Link through all the games? Meaning you are reincarnated? blink.gif Because in WW Ganny certainly seemed to think that Link was the same one from OoT. . . so confusing!! *clutches head*

All right. I'll try to answer you both as simply as possible because this can get confusing fast.

Throughout the franchise, there are different incarnations of myself (Link, I mean). There was one, for instance, that started it all in Ocarina of Time, then went on and did Majora's Mask.

The next one, timeline-wise, would have to be the upcoming Twilight Princess' Link, since TP is set a couple of decades after Ocarina of Time.

Then, a hundred years after Ocarina of Time (which is my timeline start point, by the way), there is another Link born, for the Wind Waker.

And so on and so forth.

There are many debates regarding the timeline of the series, but frankly I never saw much of a debate there. Eiji and Shigeru (it's great to refer to them by first name. We're real pals, you know?) both agreed that there were different Links throughout Hyrule's history. They reiterated it during the E3 2005 Twilight Princess commented demo (you can see it just about everywhere online, cut up into many little videos).

As for me, I'm basically the sum and essence of all those Links.

The only reason Ganny (I love belittling that monster) mistook my WW form for my OoT form is because they look very much alike. You know. Blonde hair. Blue eyes. Pointy ears. Cute backside.

Not, of course, that I hope that Ganondorf (or Ganondork, as some more ironic circles may refer to him) finds that my posterior is cute in any possible way.

Who do you think, out of every game protagonist that you've met, could be a better hand-to-hand/melee combat fighter than you?

Actually, I've never really fought any of them, so it's difficult to judge fairly. I suppose the other most renowned swordmasters fall in the Final Fantasy category, though I suppose some Fire Emblem comrades might also hold out for the title.

Mostly, I'd have to say that the fighter closest to me in the proportion of sword handling and magic used would be Cloud Strife, though that's a debatable point.

It's rather difficult to separate and categorize protagonists. Just because they're good in one game doesn't mean they'd automatically hold out in another. Obviously, I'm unsure that I could deal with most Final Fantasy universes, and I'm sure that Cloud Strife would find horseback riding the worst trial he ever endured.

In truth, a protagonist is more than the sum of his combat moves. There is something that only I can do, and that is defeat Ganondorf. No matter how strong a sword fighter may be, I'm the only one with the Triforce needed to defeat him.

In the same vein, I don't hate Sephiroth nearly enough to be able to fight him properly.

In other news, I find that this link_zelda.jpg is very cute. Zelda loves it.

And I kind of like this icon myself: link1.gif . Not very representative, but amusing nonetheless.

link1.gif link_zelda.jpg for you then, O Great Hero of Time.

In the OoT Timeline, did anyone remember what you did during the reign of Ganon?

Well, since Zelda sent me back in time to erase what Ganondorf had done, logically no one would remember, or they'd be scarred, and Zelda's attempts would have been useless.

However, Zelda did have a mild recollection of emotions that were related to the seven year jump. When I went into Termina, she did admit that she felt a stronger bond between us than just that of the "short time" we had spent together.

It is likely that the Triforce had an effect on her memories, and cannot be erased completely.

Many fans seem to resent Zelda for the fact that she sent me back in time and made the people of Hyrule forget whichever gratitude they may have felt for me. I don't view it that way. I wanted the best for Hyrule, and at the point where we were, it would have been difficult to heal all the wounds.

Zelda merely did what was the best for her country. We chose to re-write history. That means that in sending me back, she was erasing that older version of herself, I think. If anything, it shows how selfless she was.

But, you know. I'm a bit biased.

(What's the point of hiding my personal life anymore? You all pulled it out of me. Maybe CM was right. Dammit. dry.gif )

Hi again, Link! hug.gif

I'm quite sorry to hear that most people have been asking about your personal life, but gee, this IS a ZeLink forum, with all things ZeLink and Zelda. We'd just like to get to know you better, y'know what I'm trying to say? ^^;

Anyway, my question here is out of all the adventures you've had (Link's Adventure, Link to the Past, Wind Waker, stuff like that) Which one did you enjoy the most? And give reasons, please!

And it would be very nice if you can say hi to Zelda for me! happy.gif

Yes. I'm still upset with CM, though, since she quite forced me to come here. The people are nice, but CM...

I just asked her if there was a way to make her be quiet, for once. She pointed me to the last person who posts wins thread. I intend to defeat her. Eventually.

I'll just wait until she least expects it.

I would like to keep my favourite adventure under wraps, though, seeing as how one of my best is coming up. wink.gif Not to be too much of a tease, but you'll see what I mean when we get there.

TP nonwithstanding, I have to say that as far as fun in an adventure goes, I'd have to go with Majora's Mask. Weird, you might say, but it really was fun. What kid doesn't like to dress up, right? I got to become a Goron (with the really cool roll attack) and a Zora (with those slick boomerang fins) and I got to explore a really varied world...

I mean, there were a lot more humourous moments in Majora's Mask than in any other adventure of mine. Really. Some were downright creepy (Happy Mask Salesman... strange fellow), but a lot were rather funny, you know.

Let's face it: I ran around in a forest with monkeys, I saved one of those monkeys from a crazed Deku king, I bottled up a princess, I glided around with heli-flowers, I enjoyed some hot springs, I rolled around in a super powered Goron wheel, I had a Goron race, I had a doggy race, I pierced some aliens, I had a chase scene, I raced some beavers down a river, I played music with the biggest musicians I know, I rode a massive turtle's back, I infiltrated a pirates' lair, I danced in a music box, I chopped up some Garo, I literally went upside down inside the most puzzling temple I ever found... And so on.

Get my drift? Majora's Mask was fun.

If we're talking about self-fulfilling or rewarding adventures, though, Majora's Mask falls far behind after a lot of others.

But who cares? I'd do Majora's Mask all over again. laugh.gif

A) Boulders falling from Death Mountain

cool.gif Ganondorf

C) Supernatural (just for Alantie)

D) Princess Zelda

E) The Nintendo Gaming Crew

F) The Wii (WHEEE!)

Interesting questions. Let's see. My opinion...

A. The boulders falling from Death Mountain are a freak element of nature. They're extremely painful, of course. And yet, I can only get frustrated, not actually mad. It's not like they do it on purpose. Even though it may seem like it at times. :grumble:

B. Ganondorf is the king of evil. The one whom I must constantly fight. The one who keeps kidnapping Zelda and trying to take the Triforce for his own. How am I supposed to enjoy his company? Let's face it: I hate him. But not as much as he hates me, I'm sure, since I always defeat him. cool.gif

C. I believe in supernatural stuff. How could I not? I make use of magic and I often get attacked by skeletons. Skeletons! I talk to ghosts on a regular basis, I fight dragons and I Zelda sometimes uses telepathy to speak to me. I have no choice but to believe in the supernatural world. It is a large part of my life.

D. Princess Zelda is very smart and beautiful and I adore her.

Zelda, get off my keyboard. I bought this myself. Get your own. OUCH! Oh boy. As I was about to say before this interruption, Zelda is a good friend. She's a reliable companion, and often sees the greater picture, which helps me put things in perspective. When she's not whacking me on the back of the head, that is. (I'm not going to say it. I'm not going to say it.)

E. Nintendo gamers can only be cool. End of story.

F. The Wii is underappreciated as of yet. I have faith that it will in time revolutionize the gaming world, but it's still different, and the idea has to grow onto the people. The Wii represents the first step of a revolution that could either teeter in or out of gaming history. If it works, then it'll be the foundation of change, but if it doesn't, then we'll all look back and think that it was a nice try. Because it's the first of a new line, obviously it can't be quite as powerful as the XBox360 or the PS3, though it compensates with effective pricing and quality games.

Keep asking!

Lol. Link, I believe that firefly was refferring to my favorite show, Supernatural on the WB. Do you get that show in Hyrule? blink.gif

Anywho, I'd like to ask for your thoughts on Dark Link. ninja.gif Is he your dark alter ego? What you'd be like if you were on Ganny's side?

And. . .. what do you enjoy doing when you don't have to fight the forces of evil?

Oh! One more thing! Would you like to be in the next Kingdom Hearts game? Have you met the cast of the game? Inquiring minds would like to know! happy.gif

ohmy.gif Oh, Supernatural. happy.gif I'm afraid we don't get any of those shows in Hyrule. We get basic news, thanks to Shigeru and co, but most shows actually can't be displayed. For lack of televisions.

I don't even know why the Bazaar had this laptop. It always seems to have the strangest things to sell. huh.gif

Dark Link is merely a shadow of myself brought to life. Technically, he's a part of me, though in a lot of games they portray him as a whole entity. Frankly, I think Ganondorf had this delusion that having a fighter of my strength at his side might help him. The thing is that I'm smarter than my shadow in many respects. Still, Dark Link happens to be in the categories of more threatening enemies.

Since, after all, he's me.

I don't feel much hatred for him, though. More like annoyance. It's also a bit freaky to be fighting your copy. But since I'm the only me, it's not so bad getting rid of my shadow, since it's not like he had a family and children (I think I'd know).

There's only place for one Link in this world. Especially since Four Swords. I still shudder to think of the mayhem four of my copies can cause.

As for what I do whenever I'm not fighting evil, I think I have already answered that question: I sleep. And I must say, my sleep is a wonderful thing.

Where my participation in a Kingdom Hearts game is concerned, I'm afraid it won't happen, and this for a much simpler reason than my regular job: I'm a Nintendo character, and Kingdom Hearts, along with Final Fantasy, are part of Square Enix, a company that works for Nintendo's competitor Sony.

I will never appear in a Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts game, in the same sense that no FF/KH character will ever appear in the Legend of Zelda. There are too many copyrights on each series, and a rivality too great between the holders of those copyrights.

I may have a drink with some of the characters themselves, but realistically, game collaboration will never happen.
